About a minute of using a 3M roloc bristle brush, green, gave me about the same finish with no gouges. I could have sworn that it was your video that led me to that, and I'm forever thankful for it, whoever made it. Going through all of those steps to a finish seems excessive in most cases, not to mention the cost.

I want to see this compared to a 3M cubitron II disk. I'd be happy to buy these if I thought they would last as long as the cubitron discs do.

Great view of the shine, but stingy with the close-ups of the "pitted" metal.

When chatting with PFERD rep. see if you can get them to provide similar kits for both die grinders and angle grinders. Combidisc 2 to 3 inch kits for die grinder. 7/8 inch hole 4.5 and 5 inch disk kits for angle grinders. I would buy a twisted wheel/cup kit for both angle grinder and die grinder, instead of a pack of each type. Purchases from Canada would be helpful.
Some of your links already show as unavailable, BTW.

Is the grinder guard compatible with the backing plate?

    • @MakeEverything

Yeah it will work with the guard, I choose not to use it because it allows me to grind flatter to the work without it.

I'm a welder, as part of my apprenticeship I got to stand and just grind parts for 5 months.
Calling the result he got a "Polish"... is almost insulting, you can still see grinding marks clear as day.
If you actually wanna polish metal, you'll ALSO need a random orbital sander along with 80, 120, 180, 240, 400, 600 and 1200 grit abrasive for said random orbital sander. Oh and 2-3 hours even if it's just a tiny piece of plate you wanna polish to a mirror.
Oh and uhhh, no. You don't need a angle grinder with a variable speed.

I’ve done countless stairs and railings over the years. The finish you made looks great but would it be practical if you are priming/finish painting? I usually use a 36 grit pad or flap disc and then paint. I rarely went to 80 grit, they don’t last as long or cut as quickly as the 36.
Again, that was an awesome finish, just trying to decide if it’s practical for me. Maybe I’ll throw my name in the hat on instagram

Do not buy these. I just got mine today. Struggled a bit to get it clicked in but it finally did go on. I didn't even use it because I was skeptical about easy they would pop on an off. Now I have spent the last half hour trying to get the disk out of the backing pad.
I can't even get it to turn off by prying it to the left using a screwdriver.
Hopefully I can return them or dispute it with the credit card company. They absolutely suck.
I feel so foolish for falling for this infomercial
