- After managing to get their helicopter in the air, the Sea Shepherds launch a new attack against the Japanese factory ship, taking one of their small boats close enough to throw pain at the 'Research' sign on the boat.

If they are being chased or blocking the whale boat then it prevents whales dieing as the whalers are preoccupied.
So they can't load the whale bodies on the factory ship, then they won't be killin whales

im not sure if you have ever seen more then this single clip but this only a way to try to expose the blood they spill they do a lot more to whaling ships like throwing heavy rope in to their propellers and throwing stink bombs onto the deck to make it inoperable but they are in the right because they aren't doing any research they kill hundreds if not thousands of whale for their so called research

The Bob Barker has a large inboard engine to make it capable of approaching the maximum hull speed for their full displacement hull. It is rated to 3000 horsepower. For a 400hp diesel inboard, you should expect to burn around 30-50 gallons per hour (which is around 1-1.5 tons). Obviously, a 3000hp engine burns way more, somewhere in the rough range of 200-400 gallons per hour, which is around 6-12 tons of fuel. The amount of fuel they burn is insane compared to how many whales they have actually saved.

Why do they still need a helicopter? I know they use it for scouting, but for their close range engagements, use a drone. Use all the extra space and fuel storage for the helicopter, and use it for something that might actually disable the whaling fleets.
