This week we visited Eddie Appell of Gold River Reptile. Eddie has an outstanding collection of selectively bred designer Green Tree Pythons. Eddie's primary focus is on the refinement of the Calico gene, but he has some other lines he works with as well.

Jeff has nearly 20 years of experience keeping reptiles and field herping. Jeff understands that reptiles are often times, misunderstood. With this interest and passion in mind, specifically regarding snakes, Jeff has built a diverse collection of animals that he feels privileged to keep, observe, and at times, breed. He has worked with everything from North American venomous snakes, to geckos, lizards, turtles, rare boas/pythons, and even tarantulas (even though they aren't a reptile we'll still include them).
The UA-cam channel is really just an extension of Jeff's passion for reptiles. There are a lot of things he's worked with in the past, as well as things he does not work with at all. Whichever it is, the goal is to bring it to the channel, as well as spread educational content to fellow enthusiasts and new comers alike. Jeff's hope is to bring awareness to viewers regarding endangered species, and how their survival affects us all as stewards on this planet. Lastly, the channel will also include non-reptile interests with friends and hobbyists so that this, as well as Godbold Exotics, can serve as an ongoing blog about Jeff's life, adventures, and passion for these cold-blooded neighbors we share this Earth with. This channel will feature real life stories from real people, with a passion for wildlife. There are no paid advertisements, endorsements, or flash. This is just an extension of Jeff and Godbold Exotics with a down-to-earth flare...

Hey what’s the difference in the Morelia Viridis and the Morelia azurea? And what exactly is calico if you don’t mind me asking I’m just about to get into the hobby really enjoyed this video!

I know I'm late to this but the difference between Morelia Viridis and Morelia Azurea Pulcher is Viridis animals come from the Southern part of New Guinea and Azurea Puncher come from the Northern part of the island. And another difference is the localities from the Southern part i.e. Are, Kofiau, Merauke all produce yellow neos while the Northern localities produce both yellow and red neos.
As for Calico, all that means is multi color. In GTPs Calico is associated with High Yellow and Melanistic animals. These animals are considered designer animals and cost quite a bit more than locality animals.

80 percent humidity, wow , I have done alot of research and field work on gtps and have found some of the most stunning wild examples in dry conditions with very low humidity, I have seen quite a few gtps develop RI in that humidity range and have found healthy gtps with a small amount of humidity in the mornings and none at night

Where exactly have you done this research? I have been keeping this species for 17 years and annually travel to New Guinea to study and observe this species and the humidity even during the winter is 40-50%. Based off of what you said you have never been to any part of Indonesia and observed these animals in the wild. These animals live in a humid environment and with low to no humidity would directly result in RI.

Sorry, it’s an older video and I don’t have that song any longer. I lost my hard drive from those days unfortunately. But I’m grateful you enjoyed the video. Thanks for supporting!
