Lights are the same as always... so there won't be any light issue. I'm just curious if sound is okay mainly....and nothing looks blurry in the background
About 9 months ago I explored the buttons to click on the channels and discovered there was more than tutorials. Then lo and behold, a few months later I saw you find your first etched Boye - now you have six! I guessed 1950s for that aqua hook because it reminded me of the paint jobs on the cars from the late '50s and early '60s - pretty! I would never have believed I would enjoy learning about crochet hooks and their history, but there you go - always a pleasure here with you.
I think the NEW CAMERA IS FANTASTIC... The picture was clear and had a beautiful look to it and you were the clearest I've ever heard you with no "harsh" background noise if anything was dropped etc. I give it a total thumbs up and I've seen a zillion of your videos!!
I'll never forget you finding that first etched Boye! Your reaction was priceless! Now to have three in one lot... wow! I'm not a collector, well except of yarn, but I can see why it's so much fun for you to get these big lots, like a treasure hunt. I enjoyed watching.
HI THERE..🤗... I'M "SOOOO" EXCITED YOU SAID YOU LOVE THE "HERO" HOOK... IT'S MY FAVORITE TOO!!! 🤗 ❤ I CAN USE OTHERS I OWN... BUT SOMEHOW I ALWAYS END UP BACK TO MY TRUSTY "HERO"!!! 🤣 LOVE THE BRAND... AND ALL TYPES OF YARN!!! 😊👍 *YOU'RE SUCH A TREASURE!!!❤ *KEEP SHARING AND SMILING!!! ❤🤗
You make me so glad that I inherited all the hooks that belonged to my Grandmother,Mom and my aunt Ruth that have been used for more years than I have been alive and I am 79 years young now. THEY WERE A TREASURE TO ME BEFORE AND NOW MEAN EVEN MORE TO ME. DURING THE WAR AND DEPRESSION YEARS THEY CROCHETED DOLIES ETC. AND SOLD THEM TO HELP KEEP THE HOME FRONT GOING. WHAT A HISTORY LESSON THERE!
I find talking hooks very interesting. Congratulations on your find of 3 more, first ever made hooks! Also, the gold plated one. My mother-in-law grew up out in the country. The nearest decent size town was a full days wagon ride. In approximately 1917, she started learning to crochet. She begged her parents for her own crochet hook. A few days 🎉 father gave her one approximately 5 inches long for her small hand. Her father took a tong off a broken pitchfork and rounded it into a crochet hook. He took care to make it very smooth and as close to ay K hook as he could. My mother-in-law wrote the story down on a little piece of paper and wrapped the hook. I had it in my curio for 20 years after she died. A couple years ago, I asked a Pioneer Woman's Museum in SLC if they wanted it. They seemed mildly interested until they read the handwritten note. The hook is on display in the museum's sewing section!
HI Crystal! I really appreciate your knowledge on crochet hooks. I really enjoyed watching this video! I'm so happy that you found three etched Boye hooks! 😃 The light and sound was great! Have a great week! God bless you!
This box was EPIC! Everytime I watch a hook video, I go back thru the hooks I have been given. I have a couple that are "kind" of old, from the 80's but hey, I graduated high-school in the 80's and i am "kinda old" too! 😅So, happy for you!
This was an interesting video! Thoroughly enjoyed it in the wee hours of the morning while the hubby and the cat are still sleeping. I once found a huge bag of yarn during a roadside cleanup in a town near me. (Always find some kind of treasures at that time). Upon inspection once I got home, I found a red hook. It was SOOO worn! I could only imagine the hours and years it was used to create such wear. I enjoyed watching you give character to your hooks. I have many old hooks but can't get to them right now without disturbing my husband and risking him waking early to interrupt my "morning me-time" haha. But I'll get them out later and start going through them. If I find anything that compares to your delicious finds, I will keep you in mind. No-one in my family would be interested in having them when I'm gone.
I like learning the history. I could listen over and over. I think the Universe is giving you a gift for all your kindness to us! Finding 3 is amazing.
I love your history lessons. And on one of my favorite subjects. Also, I will always remember when you found your first etched Boye!!! A time that will always bring me much joy!!
Crystal, I just love hearing about the history of the various hook brands. I am a collector as well, and I believe that the original manufacturer of Susan Bates hooks was in Connecticut, but I could be wrong. Also, a lifelong friend of mine had a full set of Hero hooks which had belonged to her mother. Since she doesn't crochet, I offered to purchase them from her, but she simply gave them to me. I knew her mother well, and I will always cherish them.
Who knew I'd find hook history so interesting! Thanks Crystal! It'd be cool of you'd do a little series of different brands of hook history chronology outlined! I'd watch 😀
I have in storage a treadle sewing machine that belonged to my grandmother and great grandmother. When I went through the contents I found several crochet hooks! I boxed them up back in the sewing machine to unpack when we found a bigger place! Now I am anxious to get back all the parts and hooks that are with that sewing machine! I know one was a wooden afghan hook I think was hand carved! So excited to go through all those silver crochet hooks!
You helped me out with my gun metal, hero, and other old hooks not too long ago and I want to say thank you again for your help and knowledge!!! You are so much appreciated Crystal. I don’t know if you are aware but we greatly enjoy all of your videos and hard work💜thank you 🤗
Crystal, I might have to go thru this video several times to identify my own hooks. I have a few rare inherited Boyes and maybe a Hero or two. This is such an educational podcast - absolutely invaluable. I don’t think there is anyone out there with your wealth of knowledge. 🙏🏻Thank you on behalf of the crochet community. ❤❤❤
I just learned that " curator" is the correct term for us collectors of yarn, hooks & such❤ i like the sound of that much better😊 I always learn so much watching your videos, and i always enjoy it so much too! Picture & sound seems a lot better now. Thanks for all you do, MUCH appreciated❤❤❤
So fun to see your excitement. My son gave me an iPad so I could watch you on. So much better than my phone. I didn’t notice any difference in the quality of your video❤
The new camera seems to be working well. No issues. I love the history of the hooks. I really never thought about it until your video. I'm going to go through my collection and see what old ones I might have. I've gotten a few passed down from different people (including my grandmother), so I might have a some gems in there. You never know!
I love learning about the hooks!!! I'm a history buff and things used to be made so well. Thank you for the great info! I'm so happy for you that you found a few great treasures!!
Video was fine. I just love learning about the hooks. Found out I have an old boy. Love all this education on hooks. Makes me proud to own a hook over 60 years old to know it was used for beautiful projects in the past. So cool.
What a wealth of information you impart, I had to pull out my hooks to see what I have! You certainly are the best person to have these hooks, since you appreciate them! I cherish mine because they came from my mom.
This was so interesting. Now I'm starting to look up crochet hooks on the internet. I think it might have something to do with seeing, in my minds eye, the image of my granddad's sister crocheting. She is one of my favorite people ever. When you show your hooks I always think of her. Thank you, Crystal
I love learning everything crochet from you! 🤎I’m so interested in history and love vintage everything, so this was such a fascinating video! I could feel your excitement finding those etched Boyes and the Hero!!!! Thank you for all you share, Crystal!! You are so loved!!🤎🥰🧶
Love these videos. Learning more about our craft. I love finding hooks that are worn. I love to start imagining what they have created and who used it. I build myself a whole story. Nice finds today. xxJane 🐑🌼
Hi Crystal, as a new crocheter I found this very interesting. Love how you teach. Still going thru all your videos and have found soo many I can’t wait to get to. Keep em coming.
Crystal, I love watching your videos on hooks, I have seen two of them now and have learned alot from you, which I really appreciate. Crystal have a great day.😊
I love these videos about the history of crochet hooks! Please try to find out more about old Susan Bates. I learn so much from you all the time, thank you. ❤
Well, Susan Bates are my favorites. And I have plenty of those that have the finish wore off from were and usage. so happy for you on the hero and the etched ones. Hope you’re having a good evening.❤
I'm thrilled for you Crystal! I'm here for the long content, I love listening to you talking about what you're passionate about while I potter about cleaning my kitchen! ❤️
I spit the bit and went for broke on a set of Tulips for lace and common sizes. Love love love them! Easy onarthur hands but a bit hard on the wallet. Worth it? You betcha!!! ❤ Great find!
Thankyou for sharing your hooks. I have many hooks that are old and I also love hero hooks my grandma and great grandma and aunts used them. I now have all their hooks and am going to go through them to see how old they are. Thankyou again I have learned a lot from you always appreciated.
Sound & Lighting are good to me. I’ve learned so much with you on crochet hooks. I inherited all my Momma’s hooks. She had 1 Hero & I found a few Boye etched. I have a Boye that is a 2 on the back it says USA 35 cents.
Ok had to go back and watch your Little Knits video to see if there was any difference! 1 because I just got my new glasses and everything looks clearer! The new camera is great, color, volume etc all are good! Picture clarity fantastic! Now remember new glasses but between the two videos this one was much better! God Bless. Take care. Love you. 🙏😇♥️
I just love you and everything you do, but I’m totally enjoying these hooks’ history. I’m learning so much. Had I known then what I’m learning now, I would still have all my GEM hooks. I’ve given some away to ppl that were learning to crochet. I’ve a few of the Boye gun metal and some etched ones. I’m a hook collector also. Thank you for for the lesson.
I always use a Susan Bates even tho I have several that are not Susan Bates. I am always on the look for the older Susan Bates .. they crochet so much better than the new Susan Bates hooks. Great find. Now I have to go check all my steel hooks.. lol
I absolutely love it when you open your great finds Crystal you make me so happy when you find hooks you love brings me so much joy 😊Stay safe love you and God Bless you an do your family always 🙏🏽🕊️🤍🤎🧶
I found this really interesting! Most of my crochet hooks I got from my grandmother, so it makes sense that most of my Boye hooks matched up with the ones you were saying are from the 70s/80s. I've also never liked the few modern day Susan Baites hooks I've bought and now I see they are totally different from the Boye hooks I learned on and that's why they feel so strange to me. I found a few Hero hooks and the stainless ones labeled as .35cents too. That was fun to compare my stash as I was watching.
.hi Chrystal………I just did a little thing…..i got on premiere website and ordered a ton of yarn on sale. Im so excited. Can’t wait to see what i get. Love your tutorials. That’s how I’ve relearned how to crochet. Everything in your video is clear and concise.
Everything looks great! As you are talking about the hooks, I'm looking through mine. I don't have any that are very interesting, but it's great to know what to look for. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I love your sign!! I have bipolar disorder, and I tell my family and friends that all the time. Love it!💜💜
I forgot the guy that makes those beautiful hooks havent seen you show them awhile i will go back and find out thru your videos told kids that is what i want for mothers day and birthday this year
It's so exciting learning about the different hooks, it makes me curious about what is in my stash. I will definitely be keeping an eye out when at the thrift shop and yard sales when I go, thanks Crystal!!
I love vintage..... I sent most of my mother's to someone special. 😉 I kept a few, one was a gunmetal #10 boye that I used for beading my knitting, I was devastated when it broke (my stupidity 😢), I'm STILL looking for a replacement.
Amy X school bus driver. Susan Bates hooks were made in Mexico .but I got some more 2 or 3 years a go They were made in India but Distributed by Coats & Clark in Charlotte NC .I was surprised I live about a hour away from Charlotte NC I thought you wood like to know . have a great day
Hi Crystal, I enjoyed your show today very much! It was very interesting to learn about the history of some of the crochet hook company brands! After I watched your show, I went through my stash that I feel is a small hoard and found brand names & miscellaneous hooks that I’m now going to research because you’ve peaked my curiosity! I have a hooks by the name PRYM & TAILORFORM & one that has the word Japan. The PRYM and Japan hooks have the word on one side and a single digit number on the other side…... The TAILORFORM hooks have the name on one side and the number 2.00 the other side ..….. similarly to yours mine all have of variety of what appears to be stamped and etched markings…….. It’s been fun & interesting. Thanks for sharing your thoughts & have a great weekend!!😊
Omg I'm in love with the gunmetal hook. I've never seen one before. I got one of those blue wood handled Susan Bates in a bag of yarn at a thrift shop. It's pretty cool. Old Susan Bates is my favorite. My grandmother used them.
I have a lot of hooks that were donated to me. All are newer, but it allows me to share them with my kids who are also crocheting and learning to crocket. I love all your video contents. Always something to learn.
Sound and image were great. Really enjoy the history of the hooks. Really nice when your pipe dreams come true. Today you doubled that pipe dream collection!
Great video...makes me wish I had not given so many of my old hooks away to friends who sere learning to crochet. But what better life for a crochet hook than to be used by a beginner to learn to crochet. I am, however, going to look at the hooks I have left before I give any more away. Enjoyed seeing and learning about the hooks.
It is all so interesting kinda made me feel like i was in home ec inclass we had to sort our dinner ware by the year and our stem wear by the makers mare and color for a test in table settings for formals thanks crystal for educating and entertaining me 😊
Hi Crystal I wanted to you, I just went through my grandmother and great grandmother, knitting and she had old crotchet hooks, she had Hero and old old Boyd. Tiny doilies crotchet hooks. So exciting
I enjoy when you share these hook videos with us, I really like learning about them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge the unboxing with us. Awesome finds! ❤
This was a very fun history lesson. Thank you so much. I will have to take a closer look at my grandmother's hooks that I inherited. They are lovingly tucked away.
Glory! Halleluiah! Congrats on the cool hooks! Very nice finds... I know the joy of discovery when I've come across something I collect... by accident! It's finding that needle in the haystack.
Lights are the same as always... so there won't be any light issue. I'm just curious if sound is okay mainly....and nothing looks blurry in the background
Sound and picture are great!
It looks actually clearer. Probably need LED lights. Those big box lights. But other than that, you're great! Sound is great, too!
It's like you are right in front of me. HD quality much lol. You look beautiful

You should do a collection video. I would love to see that!!
Just had a thought, you and Evelyn Rose could make a flower/sunshine/circle shaped wall art from the bright coloured plastic hooks, .
The way you held up those three etched Boye hooks and the look on your face says it all

This is very interesting and everything is perfect nice color and your voice is great . Thank you for showing your hooks love it!!
I am getting to where I get excited every time you are doing hooks! I always learn something!
Sound and image were great. Really enjoy the history of the hooks. Really nice when your pipe dreams come true. Today you doubled that pipe dream collection!
Sound good the room looks really bright, but as you watch the pic changes to perfect - well to me anyway. Luv ya!
The camara seams really nice, the picture is cristal clear, the sound is brilliant! ❤
It is all so interesting kinda made me feel like i was in home ec inclass we had to sort our dinner ware by the year and our stem wear by the makers mare and color for a test in table settings for formals thanks crystal for educating and entertaining me 😊
The new camera looks a lot better. Sound quality is better too!
Hi Crystal I wanted to you, I just went through my grandmother and great grandmother, knitting and she had old crotchet hooks, she had Hero and old old Boyd. Tiny doilies crotchet hooks. So exciting
Picture is awesome. Sound it tiny. Like your far away. But loud.

This was a very fun history lesson. Thank you so much. I will have to take a closer look at my grandmother's hooks that I inherited. They are lovingly tucked away.
Thank you for sharing you hook finds with us love looking at the hooks and learning more about the hooks.
Glory! Halleluiah! Congrats on the cool hooks! Very nice finds... I know the joy of discovery when I've come across something I collect... by accident! It's finding that needle in the haystack.
