I have 00420 1998 mxzx 440lc . I raced it in the vintage class (2014& older) in mancelona Michigan . My competion was rev 440 and iqr600 .. I took 2nd 4th and 4th in the final after getting knocked off the track leading a lap .. still a very very competitive sled on the track by far my favorite sled I've ever owned and i been through a lot of sleds ...just always held onto the mxzx because I knew it would shine on a track one day .. excited to go back and race it again in March.. there's actually a UA-cam video of us racing our Channel is bravo boys 250
My dad race ski doo tnt 440s and when it was bitterly cold out he would run the 340FA. My grandfather would take a brand new sled put double ring weisco in them, racing clutch. Plus a few other things. I’m a life long ski doo guy
My brother just bought a sled that’s the best of both worlds. It’s an 80 7500 with a 96 mxz front bulkhead, 583, front and rear suspension, but it still looks 1% like a blizzard. We’re going to repaint and decal the hood, belly pan and he’s gonna put pistons and rings in the 583.. it’s a wicked cool resto mod.. the motor in that sled you’re featuring was one of the best motors skidoo ever made. Great video, keep ‘em coming. Especially on the vintage stuff, we love it
I had a 98 MXZx 440 LC, 00010. I raced it on grass a few seasons, then trail rode it for about three years all over the U.P. of Michigan......... What a fun sled!
Great video! I had a 98 mxzx 440 I trail rode several years back, what a fun sled! Definitely a should have never sold it kinda sled. Another they did if I remember correctly from back then was leave tunnel bare aluminum. I remember reading they saved several ounces of weight by leaving it bare.
Great video. I have a 97 MXZX in my garage too. Number 16. I snow crossed one in 97 and it was a huge improvement over the 96 MXZ. Don't have my original but found a nice one in Michigan in 2008. It's in Ontario now. I posted a video years ago. Channel is Rob Led
This is awesome. I love content on older era sleds. Keep them coming. New subscriber. I have a factory 1975 245 supermod I’ve always thought of doing a video like this.
Dustin, great video as always 👍 Love the idea of doing an in death review of a sled and what a fantastic sled to start it all out with. I had a 97 MXZx 440 (Number 16) that I foolishly sold. A lot of what you said about this sled I remembered from back when I had mine. We still have a 99 MXZx 440. We use to trail ride both these sleds. They were a lot of fun in the twisties and would give larger cc sleds fits until we hit the straights. I'd love to get another 97 Zx. Anyways, I'll be sure to check out you videos when you put them up.
Hey Dustin. I believe your Bleed Yellow submission was fantastic. Like I myself bleed yellow, and I considered a submission until I saw yours!! I have owned other sleds, but not you!!! I absolutely LOVE your work bud
If i can make a suggestion it would be great to see a closer view of the engine bay when you're pointing out all the details like the magnesium chaincase cover etc. Keep up the good work regardless
we were at haydays when they brought that in by helicopter, we were on an off brand at the time with the initials AC, but we still thought it was pretty cool. however my older brother made a comment which involved the use of a RPG.
We won’t hold that against you Jason as we all know you finally saw the light! Lol! I have some CK3 videos planned in the future. I’m sure you and Justin will be able to pick apart my facts as I realize there is nobody more knowledgeable on the CK3’s than you guys!
Absolutely love what you just did! What an awesome piece! I'm assuming that it is an S chassis. Also. The rear suspension. Was that an AD Bovine piece? Or were they experimenting with different designs?
Hello I have a 1996 mxz 440lc it is number 36 off the assembly line . I know it's not an X model but has many similarities do you know how many of those one were made?
Dustin, thanks for the video and the time spent keeping the heritage of these machines alive!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Awesome, informative video. I've got #97 of the 97 440x 👍

This is exactly what internet needs! More classic era sleds. Great job Dustin!
Glad you enjoyed it. I really enjoy making the videos and reliving the era that these sleds were made in!
Very cool Dustin, thanks
Thanks for sharing your knowledge on Skidoo history. Very interesting to me. Can't wait till the next one.
More to come!

They are an absolute BLAST!
Thanks guys. I realized after I released the video that I misspoke. The type 454 was reintroduced in the mxz in 1995, not 96’

Another great vid. I'm really hoping you do a video on the 670HO with the special carbs soon. Cheers!
Hell yes! Keep pounding on your 98 man! The 97/98’s were built for war and are battle tested!

These sleds were so cool and so much fun to ride and still are!
Great upload! 👍
Thanks for the visit

Thanks for the kind words! Hopefully I can keep providing content the vintage ski-doo world enjoys as much as I do making it!
Loved it. Huge fan of this idea.
That’s awesome man!! Thanks for sharing!

Nice review, I remember reading on them when they first came out
Thanks Jeff. Glad you enjoyed it

The paint was light weight too! Maybe 98 only but it was a thing too
The 98’s were also a different color yellow too I believe. The difference was very subtle
Sweeeet 👍👍
Show us some of the yamaha you guys got......!
Absolutely love what you just did! What an awesome piece! I'm assuming that it is an S chassis. Also. The rear suspension. Was that an AD Bovine piece? Or were they experimenting with different designs?
Thanks Dale, the rear skid was actually an SC-10. And Ski-Doo’s first rising rate suspension at that.

Sorry I do not
I bought a new 99 440lc. Why did i sell it 🤦♂️
Those are very hard to find, especially nice ones. First year for the case reed motors
@@skidoojunky6230 i didn't know about the reeds. It was an easy sled to love. Snappy and the sound was music.
