  • The HAKA performed by Trinity College, which was specially written by their coach Niel Foote. The Royalists are not warming up to it..
    The Meaning of the HAKA.
    Raiona Manawa (Lion Heart)
The earth will tremble under my feet
We have travelled alone on different paths to stand here together as one
We were forged in the hills by earth and fire and turned into steel by water
We hunt as a pride with the heart of a lion
We are ready to die for red gold and blue.
We stand on the shoulders of the past.
When one warrior falls another will take his place
    We are the future.
We are the chosen from Trinity, the school on the hill.
The best school of all.-NIEL FOOTE (TCK 1st XV Coach)

Haka is not about who does it, it's about showing courageousness & bravery.
In the end of the day Trinity won the Bradby, that's all that matters. Cheers.

At the height of a final sporting event, an intense moment there it shows your true colors.. are you a true gentleman are you truly honorable it all unleashes there. That's one of the reasons why there are inter school matches are held.. in this particular event though both teams failed miserably.. English world cup winning rugby captain Martin Johnson the giant.. never threw a single punch during his entire career.. even todate he has a great regard by both English and non English fans.. now that's an example for you all to learn!

    Haters gonna hate!!!
But nothing can beat the Classy Rugby, BRADBY!!! It wasn't a traditional HAKA of Trinitians, they haven;t done it in the 1st leg. The tend to do that because they were the favorites of the game. Come On!! Don't expect ROYAL to stand there & just keep on staring at it & let them to anything. It's the rivalry, it's the boost...Because it's all about the shield which continues with the traditions. And mind you all, even that was a messy start, IT WAS A CLEAN 80 MINUTES OF RUGBY

Yes, rugby was introduced to Kingswood by the Old-Trinitian L. E. Blaze a few years prior, but Kingswood gave up the game a few years after.
The game was reintroduced to Kingswood in the early 70's.

The Trinity team was trained last 03 years by a New Zealander who played top level rugby. Trinity won the bradby ( the longest continuously played schools ruby match in the world) all 03 years. They performed this as as a tribute to their new Zealand coach who leaves them end of the season. Their coach trained them. Their performance was marred by the royal who did not u’stand the haka & foolishly confronted. Nothing more can be expected from a government Buddhist school

With all due respect to you Gentlemen,
      Let me clear your doubts...
This Haka was written by Trinity then Coach Neil Foote who is a NZ Maori himself. Its the only original haka Wriiten by a Maori about the Rivers,Lakes and the Beauty of Kandy and what it feels to be a Lion in it and how as a pride of Lions Trinitians will fight to deffend its glory..
This is done as a respect to the Coach and Its not random words or catch phrases you see in most local hakas Every word means about Kandy and Trinity you can watch any other local haka and watch this closely and you will see the difference as how emotional it is for us when it comes to Kandy and Trinity!
      Cheers!

I can say with confidence that if a bunch of players in the opposition who were not Maori started to perform the Haka, I would have done worst things than what Royal did. If anyone has any knowledge of the Haka you would know that it is a war dance and a extremely provocative one too. Any normal wouldn't put up with it but being ALWAYS done with at least a Maori or two in it, you watch on with respect. But when it's done with a bunch of teenage big headed Lankan players, what would you do?

Munster had a few players of Maori Heritage - they were THE ONLY ONES, who challenged the All Blacks with their Haka.
NOT A SINGLE IRISHMAN DID IT!

    • @APKDeZ
      @APKDeZ 9 років тому +1

Kwapi Vengesayi The team who does the 'Haka' already has a traditional dance called the 'Kandyan dance'. Since the 'Kandyan dance' is too tricky and too soft for them, they wanted to show more of their anger & toughness. So they got a 'Haka' sorted out for them just for this leg. With the angry opposition they lost this leg & It would have been better if they performed the 'Kandyan dance' or the 'Haka' in their own grounds rather than 'away. It was an epic failure. Sad to say that it was disrespectful to the Moarians of New Zealand and the Kandyans of Sri Lanka. And I am hoping that this act won't happen again.
