Hoping Johnny Depp autographs my painting

- Trying to get Johnny Depp to sign my painting on location while he's filming his upcoming movie, "Transcendence." May 9, 2013 at CSUN, California State University at Northridge.
Yes Johnny was very nice. I can even appreciate his bodyguard. He was just doing his job and he does it very well. It's his job to keep people away from Johnny until they are both ready to allow any kind of fan crowd near him, and again, he did a superb job!
I am a huge fan of Johnny's from Greece since January 1990,I dont think there are enough words or enough languages in this world to describe how much I envy you man!
I have done a couple of drawings of him back in the 90s,I wish I was in your shoes that night,your persistence and perseverence payed off in the most wonderful way,Johnny's way,keep safe......

That was so funny. A proper grown up man running down the road after after Mr Depp. I have been to one premier in london and stood at the back watching the goings on. It was a bit of a weird experience, although all the fans that had turned up were very excited and the atmosphere was lovely. He made sure he gave his attention to all those people that had been there since the crack of dawn.

Yes he was really nice. As you can see, he took his time with his fans. He signed autographs and posed for pics with his fans and it was a great experience. We were all very fortunate.

This is cool. I like how actors take the time to sign stuff. Sure it took a while, but at the same time they do have other stuff to do as well so as long as you got your signature that's all that matters!

Thanks a lot verydeppobsessed, I think that the small civilized group really worked to our advantage and Johnny's reputation is that he's always great with his fans. It's my pleasure sharing these videos, hopefully it will get picked up by a production company and turned into a reality show. Thanks again for the great comment.

Hi rebe Depp, There's a big circle of autograph collectors in town and they share secret info with the ones they choose. Lucky for me my friend told me about Johnny being at the college so we just went there and ran around for hours. As you can see, there was nothing planned as to what time we might meet him, we invested the time and it paid off!!!! :)

Hi Yousef, I really don't think Johnny had a problem with signing my painting, it was just his bodyguard protecting Johnny and he did a great job. in the end, it got signed and all is well. All that kind of tension just adds to the drama and makes the day that much more exciting!

I was a bit nervous, but probably not for the reason you're thinking of. I was nervous because I didn't want his bodyguard to see me filming Johnny. I was afraid if he saw me, he might have Johnny stop signing my painting so that's why I went for the camera angle behind Johnny's back. Because of it all, I wasn't able to get any great footage, only a couple quick little peaks... but that's ok, at least I was able to get that. :)
Starpainter, you are amazing. You should be on T.V. Your videos are really entertaining. hopefully you become a famous person some day because you seem famous on youtube. keep up the great work!!!!
You are very welcome. Just to let you know this is a good place to get noticed. Many people have been youtube famous and then worked them self up with networks. The only thing i can do to help is mention your youtube channel to friends, which i have done so. The more subscribers and video views you get, the more chances you will get to get up there. Your hard work is really inspiring hopefully it gets noticed.

Yeah but if I shot it during the day, he wouldn't have signed it... he signed at night. I know what you mean though about not being able to see it. Believe me, I wish it was in the daylight too.

Oh wow, that´s cool... But why weren´t you allowed to film Johnny while he was signing? Never mind, your story is hilarious. Johnny´s so caring with his fans, it´s lovely to see it once again. Thank you for sharing.

It´s different in Germany. You can take pics in a public place, but that doesn´t mean you are allowed to take pics of individual people without their permission. It´s called "right to image" ("Recht am eigenen Bild"). May be different elsewhere.

Even celebs are no objects. And this was not an official fan meeting. Even a celeb wants to have time off after work is done. And Johnny´s so very patient with his fans. So I understand his bodyguard. Btw I like Jerry Judge a lot, because he´s really a tough guy doing a great job.
He signed it in such a way to indicate that he didn't paint it. Which is fine. That's what the security guard was worried about in the first place. They didn't want you to film him signing it because that would be "proof of authenticity" for the autograph, and you might sell it. PS: I love your art and your videos.
oh ok your lucky though and i live far away from la like i live in Australia so i doubt ill ever meet him :(

How do you find out where some of these people are?
I am an autograph collector as well and have intention of EVER selling any of them.I do it for fun.
I've been able to meet Rick Springfield,The Beach Boys,Bill Cosby,Steve Martin,Henry Winkler,Jeff Foxworthy and many others.I've been doing it for about four years and usually the only time I am able to meet them is outside of a theater where they are speaking or preforming. Any tips?Thanks and great work on all your paintings! Johnny is awesome!

I'm trying to pitch this as a show to the networks but I don't know anyone in the industry which makes it nearly impossible for anyone to even take a look at my show. What city do you live in? I'm in LA so they are around all the time. There's a whole circuit of collectors around here and we all share informetion. For instance, a collector friend of mine called me last week at noon and said Johnny Depp is in his neighborhood so I picked him up at 4 and... well,
you saw the rest.
