Circumbinary Disk: Where Planets Can Form Around Binary Stars | SpaceSim

Two stars, one modeled after Altair and one after our Sun, orbit each other. Around their barycenter orbits a disk of massless test particles. These test particles show us where things can orbit, which ends up being around each star individually or around both but only at a distance.

Can you do it in 3d?
So that it does not start as a flat disk...

I could give the disk some vertical thickness, but I suspect that that would just make the results look "blurrier". I'll give it a try and see how it goes.
