I was there, I am spanish, and I am proud of these people...few months ago I also was in Ireland, and they are simply great...My deepest respect for you Irish!

The Spanish showed their respect to the Irish fans and their chants and so we were stunned to see the best supporters in the world. That is why we were so quiet. You can watch Spanish chants in other matches but not this one. The score was all the same... Thank you Ireland.
Lots of comments say it embarrassing cause we was 4-0 down but it's not about the score it's showing that they support there team even though they lost to the beat club in Europe
I believe that this isn't exaggerated to say, that Irish fans showed what never has been shown before in the whole world - this is exactly what being a fan should mean to everybody! Jaws dropped when you started singing. I am dead sure this moment will be the most famous moment of whole Euro. Also, I don't think we as Poles have ever had more entertaining, happy, friendly and proud people as guests in our country. Thank you for that! We all have a lot to learn from you!

I was there when Ray houghton scored that chip v Italy, I was there when david kelly scored against england, I was there when McAteer scored the winner v Holland.....but this for me has to be the proudest moment I have ever experienced as an Irish fan. the sheer passion of every fan around me in the stadium, grown men brought to tears by the sheer emotion! we knew going into the competition that we couldn't win yet we went out and sang our hearts out for the boys in green. Many broadcasters said that we are the best fans of the competition. I was there and whenever there was a match I was told how great we were and that if Ireland weren't in the competition that people wouldn't have had as much fun since we brought smiles to peoples faces. Who cares if can only win sympathy votes, at least we will be remembered as best fans and having a good time.
Even after all this time, this still brings a tear to my eye... We Irish may not be much in the way of sportsmen... But my fuck we support our team! Proud every day to wear the green
