judge:*aggresively stabs METAL gas can with full strength and moving it around whilst in the gas can*
judge:”we have a little problem, your blade is slightly bent but overall it survived”
Put a Becker BK 2 through that test and I guarantee it won't bend. There's tons of knives that can do this test and be fine. It bending just means that the heat treatment wasn't that great
Froot Joos 😂 right, he made the same thing on the spears test
These tests are for people, for humans. I don't know why people shouldn't test it.
Froot Joos yeah, he doesn’t want to be embarrassed by his lack of technique. So he blames it on the blade.
To be honest 🙄 he was really wiggling the, like what 💀😂
Cut? No keel? :(
Im here to hear the KEEEL
Same here
I think he only says it will *KEEL* if its a dummy
loooool.
I’m really happy you remembered the two different ‘here’ and ‘hear’
He says keel in the finals on the kill test
“I will cut this fish I will slice this fish” that line was more lethal than the daggers
1:42 When I see my Crush is going to the party I’m at.
1:47 Then when someone starts talking to my Crush.
Andi Ditt underrated comment
Nice!!
😂😂😂😂
This is honestly sooo underrated
Just want to say Drew’s fashion sense is fantastic. I would wear the same thing every day, if I could.
The way he slashes. I think to myself “this ain’t assassin creed”
Doug has years of experience handling blades. I think he knows what he's doing
well from the way he was swinging those daggers... I'm guessing that's false
All the clips I've seen of Doug training and teaching blade fighting has been holding a knife in more conventional grips.
I'm really confused by the decision to not change grips for slashing. I wonder if a producer had something to do with that.
*Stabs container - viciously wriggles the blade out*
" We have a problem, your blade warped a little. There's a little bend around the middle "
Gee I wonder why?
Exactly what I was thinking
Not supposed to bend
@@rena8215 A dagger is going to bend if you violently shake it in a metal oil container no matter how strong it is though.
@@EcchiSamurai Bend, yes. But a properly tempered dagger won't permanently warp.
@@Camino377 Im not a smith nir a knife expert so what fo I know I guess
Test is inaccurate. Need to fight to the death to see which blade is better
Keller Soch
Me: **Chants** hunger game... Hunger Games... HUNGER GAMES
Matamu
That is how they should settle the finals
that is testing the skill of the fighter and not the blade me thinks🤔
ikr. Amateurs.
Can't stop giggling everytime I see Mr. Doug... 😂 I like him so much!
With the first test:
He jabs the daggers into a steel gas can, WRENCHES THEM AROUND, and then is all "dude wtf there's a bend".
Also, they test the effectiveness AFTER damaging them? I get that they fixed this in later episodes, but wow.
So much human error is involved in these tests.
Metal-Muscle & Games Nah, MakoRuu meant that the people testing the blades make human errors and impact on the testing
Metal-Muscle & Games but the thing is when you have variables like that involved in the test it makes it more difficult to tell if it was the the human that did the stabbing did that or if the blade was just poorly made and what we’re are testing that human error of the person who made the blade and not how well someone will stab a can. When you test something like that then the difference between going home and staying could all be because the person testing stabbed with your dagger slightly harder than when he had your opponents dagger. See where were getting at?
Metal-Muscle & Games it doesn’t just “all depend on who made their blade the best” because the tester could have driven the blade of one person harder into the can and another’s slightly softer so if you add that variable into the test then it all depends on who made their blade the best and who got the lowest amount of force, applied by the tester, on the blade.
MakoRuu ikr
@Metal-Muscle & Games so they should fight to the death to see whose blade is better? Edit: If so, I agree.
**stabs knife into steel canister**
**wiggles side to side to get it out**
It hAs BenDs iN iT
A chip on the blade? Yes that is pretty standard when you're stabbing a metal object with a flat blade of a reasonable size. When plate armour became more common in Europe the smiths invented the rondel dagger in order to pierce the armour, later this was developed into the stiletto dagger which could be used against chain-mail or leather armour. I would easily pierce the body without being damaged and it wouldn't become stuck as it couldn't snag on metal or bone. This later inspired the bayonets used in WW1 and the 3 sided 'trench knife'.
Sharpness test after the strenght test...hmmmm
i know right i does not seem right
@Ayden Cole yeah, but it still makes more sense to flip that.
@@haydencook682 Well in battle i think you will hit something after blocking? So your dagger/sword/sushi-terminator will be kinda chipped and such.
@@haydencook682 You can go buy $10 blades that will be sharp first time, its how long they hold an edge thats important
@@nickc856 listen to Nick guys
The judges are the Phil swift of forging.
“To test the strength of your blade, I stabbed a gasoline can!”
Yes! Thus is underrated
3:36 - 3:37 he slapped the fish how should it cut
I mean he says that like 10 seconds later, his knifes handles was too small and hard to grip so instead of him being able to slash, it got pushed flat and slapped the fish
It rolled in his hand.
which button to slash attack again?
i find these strength tests often ridiculous. knives arent meant to be furiously stabbed against a metal jerry can. but to be used against an opponent. this is just a way to break the beautiful knives these people spent alot of time on.
but it will keel
Daggers aren't meant to be used to stab into metal plates, that first test is pretty much irrelevant
Ehh it wasn't exactly metal plate. Sure it was steel but it was not hardened steel armor or anything like that. But still i don't that that test was fair for this blade
Yunan Klaus They said it was a strength test so
@@Kal6933 I know it was a strength test, they were trying to test the daggers endurance. However, daggers aren't meant to be used to stab through metal plates, that's not what they're designed for, so stabbing it to a metal plate will definitely chip it off, if not bend or distort it. You can, however, test the endurance by hitting it with an arming sword because back then, daggers are also used for parrying in dual wielding technique, where your main arm is a sword and your companion arm is a dagger. It is not a showoff, fantasy technique that can only be found in movies and cartoons - you can find it in Europeans sword techniques like fencing (the real fencing, not the Olympic circus they put up on tv these days) and Japanese Kenjutsu.
Yunan Klaus Oh okay, I see your point now
Yunan Klaus that depends on how it was made
Ok the bends in the blade are probably cause he wiggles the knife around inside the can a ton.
Andrew Hoag with extreme force, glad I wasn’t the only one seeing that.
And he stabs it awkwardly so it jolts to the side when it makes contact
"the cuts bounced off the fish"
That's what happens when you slash with an icepick grip deadass
I would like to see a dagger not warp or chip after been repeatedly thrusted into steel fuel cans
That's not the point, they don't have to be flawless, just in better shape than the others.
Watch some of the vs judges episodes
*2/3 blades get bent stabbing steel containers as the guy twists the blade like he's trying to snap it*
"It seems you developed a bend, thats a problem"
ok why are you testin a knife on a steel gas can and how did I come across this
To test its durability.
BOTH CUTS ARE GOOOD!
i just watched the judges do their battle making swords and they didn't have 5 days to create a weapon that would do the job, they had 2 weeks, and one of them even said to do it right it would take more than 5 days
0:25 that looks suspiciously like blood
AgentIggy Wouldn’t even be surprised with the way these morons play with the weapons.
You mean there is blood in the fuel cans?
@@Matt99988 I wouldn't be supriced if they killed animals with their knives in their free time... Sick ppl
Drew is officially the youngest Forged in Fire champion at 18.
I saw the thumbnail and immediately mumbled to my self *it will keeeel*
"Your weapon..... will kewwwwwwl" >:D
I know he didnt say it...but i wish he did.....
Good, love that programme!
Please post the full episodes
1:47 That dramatic zoom of closing of dem eyelids
Contestant: let's make sushi.
Fish: not today man, not today.
Thank you chef
Judging by the young guys tie knot... dude has patience to learn and practice. Probably why he's so young and competing with such experienced people.
Friend: you know your crusch could friendzone you...
Me: It would keel
'It will cut' 2:53 woh, didn't know that, thank you
BEST THUMBNAIL EVER
1:47 When you get a little bit of roll on your tip.
A man with a sweater vest has made a knife capable of decimating fish. Neat.
This max 5min cutting is very clever to attract people, its the right amount!
2:13 "I will stab this fish, I will slice this fish" 🔥
Dr Seuss keeling marcaida edition- gentlemen I will cut this fish, I will slice this fish I will do everything but nice to this fish 😂😂😂
Drew is so formal
I like it
Now that's some damage!
What prevents a bend in the blade? Type of steel, it's handle, or just straight up how it was made? I feel like this sounds like a dumb question, but I couldn't think how I could better pose it.
Now thats a lot of damage
i just like the bit where he smiles and says " It will kill" 😈 lol
I love this show
The little guy looks exactly like "Tintin" 😉
I bought a kitchen knife and let Doug tested it.. this is what he told me... your knife sir.... will KEEL.. with that smile on his face..😂
Thats a lotta damage!!
Drew's outfit is so outstanding lol
Best channel😱
daggers do not have slashing power.....
especially when you hit your target with the flat of the blade, half of those slashes had horrible blade alignment. Isn't this dude supposed to be a knife 'expert' of some sort.
@@elliottatwell1155 actually he is an expert in edge weaponds, training soldiers from all over the world :)))
When your knife get all slimy from the fish, a slim handle make proper edge alignment upon impact hard tho. And he mentioned about it
@@elliottatwell1155 Yeah likely hard in real life to cut while hands are wet
nope they do have. try it on a real person not on a slimy fish
@@DungNguyen-FatRacoon the only thing I'll critique him on is using those European daggers in a reverse grip to slash. It was like he was using non European fighting tactics and that's not fair considering uhhhh they're designed for those specific tactics. Lol
The way he slices the fish is that really swordsmenship..
“Yeah you know I’d stab you but I just finishing stabbing a metal gas can so my blade will not keel you”
so yall are going to pretend like am the only one who likes how Doug Marcaida says "it will cut" lol
It’s always something with Drew’s tip
I love his,, Will kill"
Thumbnail:
Me: im sold
"You see, your blade has a bend..." *10 seconds earlier is jerkjng around like none other
The thumbnail said it all.
1:30 this kid is always ready with a 1 liners. Lmao
Aye the only reality show where ppl encourage each other and actually take criticism like we should be doing
That Daniel guy was a great sport.
Also, does Drew remind anybody else of Tom Holland?
Okay, what whould your order be?
three gas cans, three salmon, a spear launcher, and a ballistic dummy
uh, okay...
His face when he says “it will cut”
Nice thumbnail
May favorite in youtube. 😊
1:46 Drews eyes XD
This is like masterchef but weapons
With Drew’s blade he didn’t even slice the fish in the back slash. He just slapped it with the inside
When are we gonna have Aatrox's blade tested ?
Aatrox lmao
i agree
Soon enough bro
When u are balanced my mans
If Aatrox is broken, then what is Irelia or Akali ?
Isn't saying the handle is too small kind of relative? I don't see how that's a valid criticism.
Patrick Lonergan what do you prefer, a knife that you can easily handle or a knife that so hard to grab on (remember only the handle differs)
@@itsmegilbert2 a knife that is easy to handle for you might not be the same for me. If I'm a short guy and I make a weapon that fits in my hand and then you as a tall person complains it doesn't fit in your hand than that's kind of dumb.
Well what are they? Blacksmiths. And some of them make blades not just for themselves thats why you consider or think a standard size and style of handle.
Why would you ever test a blade with STEEL canisters?
Maybe to test the durability of the blade to slip past plate armor without shattering?
@@ImitationBrand sounds reasonable.
Maybe you fight against the men of steal...
If your in a warzone you can slip past enemy lines and slash all of there fuel tanks.
ImitationBrand it is almost impossible to puncture steel plate armor, not to mention using a dagger
Lol you can see in the thumb that he is saying "the weapon will deninetly kill"
each time he stabs the barrels. For the watch.
"Your weapon will kneel"
now thats alot of damage
Haha
3:26 when chucky hit puberty
That Chinese guys face is same everytime when he says it will kill
Best job ever you just get to stab and chop stuff
1:31 that’s what she said 😂
Tbh the tests should be carried out by machines like the slicing and stabbing of things so there is equal amount of force in swinging and stabbing
When would you ever use a dagger like he did in that sharpness test (fish part)?
The reason that there is a bend in the blade is because he’s moving it around in one spot
Y'all a good dagger would be able to hold up against this type of abuse. He even said he was gonna be rough with them before he began the test.
Well, a great dagger would anyway. But they aren't trying to reward mediocrity on this show. Sure stabing through metal cans and wrenching them out is way more abuse than a dagger ordinarily would have to face but if it can hold up relatively well to that then that means a lot as far as the quality goes. Notice 2/3 bent? One didn't bend. So right there is proof that making a dagger that can stand up well against this test is very possible.
“Overall, it will keel- cuttt.”
Jason's face when he saw what his creation could do
2:26 come on. Youre a martial arts expert. You should know a icepick grip is for stabbing, not slashing.
The Reverse grip flailing on that fish is ridiculous. Theyre European daggers, so thrust lol.
why is he using them like karambits?
Its always the dude in the middle that has a problem
nice
Thats a lot of damage
Why is no one talking about the thumbnail?
Imagine the knife breaking in the fish!
If u gonna stab a dagger into a *steel fuel cans* and then wiggle it´s way out of course its gonna band even more, and the way u stab that can is like u are bored of doing it... first stroke goes left other one goes right the last one goes straight in as it should
NOW THAT'S ALOT OF DAMAGE
