I think as you become more active again you'll recondition your muscles and eventually you'll have less pain and quite possibly none. It's a process. Give yourself the gift and grace of patience. I think of it as what you are likely feeling is, say, you decide to go to a Gym to get fit and build your muscles. In the beginning you can’t do much without getting tired and your body aches. But as time goes by and the more you exercise the stronger you will get and you will slowly build stamina as you go. I hope that is the case for you dear Luca. Please don’t be too hard on yourself mentally as you progress. Sending love to your beautiful family.

Dear Luca, I'm an old lady now, but I've had numerous serious health issues over the years. It has taught me that the word "should' must be taken from my vocabulary. I grew up with many rules I imposed on myself as to what I should do, have and believe... it's a jail that keeps one in a poor state of mind. I hate getting advice, but sometimes, it is worth considering others' experience. Researching how to deal with chronic pain can also help. It is easy for others to suggest what one should do, another for the individual to adjust to a new situation. I hope you will find a way to ease your mind and loosen your beliefs of "should" into possibilities of relaxing and enjoying life as you are able. Look up at the sky, your wife and your daughter; out, not inward. You will find a way, dear heart. I hope that all of you have a wonderful, relaxing three weeks away. Sending good energy and love your way.

I started watching you as soon as you bought your thousand-year-old building. I so look forward to your Sunday mornings and will always want to make sure that you are all OK! You have taught a lot to a lot of different people for a lot of different reasons. I have a very deep feeling that you will be getting less pain as time goes by Luca… picture yourself well❤️🙏❤️

I just can't believe that is Luca"s mother. She looks like Luca's younger sister. And like a movie star! What fantastic genes!! All gorgeous people!
I am a psychologist with over 30 years of experience with working with people with disabilities. The organization I worked and helped disabled people to get back to productive employment. Your difficulties in getting back to work or quite normal. There was a process we used to call work harddening. of course you have to take it gradually. Step-by-step. Setting a goal of an hour, then two hours, then three hours, etc. is realistic. Also giving yourself time to rest is exceptionally important. You have had a neurologically based health challenge. It takes recovery time for that alone. In addition, you have to be careful not to overdo it. In America, we have people who are rehabilitation doctors. They specialize in helping people go through this process. They understand the limitations of different disabling conditions as well as how to get back as much of your functionality as possible. I have been watching you a long time and you have a beautiful family. I am an 80 year old man who is unfortunately without a family. If there’s anything I can do to help you let me know.

Luce is blessed to have such a safe, secure loving nest in which to fluff up her fledgling wings xxx I can imagine Nonna Bruna will be missing her precious cuddles and will be looking forward to her next visit .

I wish you guys had more help with the olive grove. I am surprised that Luca can work as hard. He has to be a little careful. I know he enjoys doing this kind of physical work but he still has to be careful.

Yes, you might have some future limitations as compared to before your illness, but you cannot really judge how you feel right now to how you will in the future.
Your body is deconditioned due to the necessary/required bed rest and decreased activity during your recovery. You WILL gain more strength and stamina as you build yourself back up… slowly and steadily so you don’t hurt yourself or aggravate the fine work done by your MD.
Please remember how far you’ve already come in your recovery and hang in there!

bless you both especially luca for pushing threw the discomfort and seizing the bully by the horns as they say for your positive and pure determination to get things done. the ash from the burn piles is good for the soil, so if you can spread it about the land to help make the soil more fertile. just a suggestion would a small hand pulling trolly be of use to you luca to help gather all the wood in to move it to nearer to the stone cabin. your an amazing family unit, im glad you had such lovely friends to help you tidy up the fields, i fear it would have been too much for luca to do on his own. take care, stay well and keep safe xxxx

He is way too hard on himself. My grown children have told me they would rather have me alive and sitting in a chair, then the empty chair. Sometimes you have to live for other people and what they want, not what you want , which is physical mobility.

When I had breast cancer, I was determined to not allow it to dictate my life and mind. This is so important to accept as it is, and find ways of dealing with how to move forward. Older people like me (71) who has always been able to do everything but now are hindered by the body lacking in strength and endurance has worked out different ways of doing things. Slower but still achieved. You can do. 😊
May this land bring you peace and good health. May the Earth return the love you give it. Enjoy your vacation

Luca when you get frustrated (understandable) think of all the olive grove farmers through the centuries who had no treatment or medications for non diagnosed issues who had to change up their work in the groves. You are such a strong spirit for your love of working a producing good results ❤

Ice helps to reduce the pain caused by inflammation. Drinking lots of water all day helps to keep you hydrated. Wearing a loose-fitting hat with a wide brim and ventilation reduces the sun's heat on your head and face.
The glories of physical labor with a sublime view for Luca; the paradise of floating in crystal waters for Sara; and the exhilaration of flying a kite for Luce! Plus delicious meals with friends, travel with family, and simple joys at home. You three help me feel the pleasures -- and the sheer realness -- of life.

You guys should invest in a riding mowing tractor to keep the olive grove mowed and tidy. Not a huge tractor, just a small riding tractor. They also have small trailers that attach to the back and are useful.
I lived near that place and afterJune the grass dies in the heat, it’s very dry.

Ciao Luca, Sara and Luce! Luca I know you have heard about permaculture, do you know about hugelkture? It’s a process where you bury wood, branches, leaves, etc, and then use this as a base to plant. We combined this method with swale ms and they have been the best systems for growing that we have here, in our San Diego climate that is very similar to Sicily. Less water is needed for the plants because the buried wood acts as a sponge for holding water, and well as breaking down and enriching the soil. Just wanted to throw it out as an alternative to burning. Love what you guys are doing and your wonderful videos that you make.

We do exactly the same thing with our olive branches in Greece. We set fire and burn them until 30th of May, otherwise it's very dangerous to let the wood in the field in summertime. Good job Luca, greetings to your beautiful family from Greece!❤
