Lyrics:
Well I, see you got your
Brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat
Yes I, see you got your
Brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat
Well, you must tell me, baby how your
Head feels under somethin’ like that
Under your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat
Well you, look so pretty in it
Honey, can I jump on it sometime?
Yes, I just wanna see
If it’s really that expensive kind
You know it balances on your head just like a
Mattress balances on a bottle of wine
Your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat
Well if you, wanna see the sun rise
Honey, I know where
We’ll go out and see it sometime
We’ll both just sit there and stare
Me with my belt wrapped around my head
And you just sittin’ there
In your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat
Well, I asked the doctor if I could see you
It’s bad for your health, he said
Yes, I disobeyed his orders
I came to see you but I found him there instead
You know, I don’t mind him cheatin’ on me, but I
Sure wish he’d take that off his head
Your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat
Well I, see you got a new boyfriend
You know, I never seen him before
Well, I saw you makin’ love with him
He forgot to close the garage door
You might think he loves you for your money, but
I know what he really loves you for
It’s your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat

I was 16 and listened to this album at the hospital where I stayed for a month after an almost fatal accident, my English was very basic back then , but still loved it.
I gave the tape to a Greek doctor who worked in Italy at the time, he loved Dylan , and thought that it was amazing that I did too, his name was Angelo, I will never forget his humanity and smile.
Like a mattress balances on a bottle of wine. Hands down best line.
I c u got a new BF I never seen him b4; I saw u making love to him you forgot to close the garage door
Yep. Pure genius. 👍
Only love can break a heart Gene Pitney
Death Grips really going for a completely new sound from their previous projects
This song is hilarious and brilliant, Bobs sense of humor is underrated😂😂
Humour is paramount
Not to me, i'd never under rate it.
3:18-3:27 i wonder if death grips would name a song after that sentence
so cool of mr. grips to give spotlight to smaller artists, I can feel this guy's gonna make it big one day :)
What the fuck is that name😬
FORNITE BALLS??
he is "pretty pretty pretty pretty good", as another great Jewish writer likes to say

It's brilliant !!!!!
Those who like to think to hard

Dylan "66- wild hair, skinny, tweed suit,Ray Bans and black Telecaster..........The coolest guy in the 60's !!!!!!
I have to agree. No Beatle or Stone tops this in my opinion. Albums like Blonde on Blonde just about eviscerates most other albums of the time
Dylan is still the coolest guy in any decade
Some of the funniest Dylan lines ever on this one, especially the doctor part lmao
Hilarious lyrics. No one could be more entertainingly mean than the Bob.
One of my favorite things about him, he's a compete asshole/prick a lot of the time.
You ARE absolutely right
mean ? NO realistic.
It’s full of god tier passive aggression
"it balances on your head just like a mattress balances on a bottle of wine" -- truly one of the great lines
I like See U got a new boyfriend, no ive never seen him b4, saw u making love to him, u forgot to close the garage door "
Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat, a beatiful name for my future pub
This album was WAY before it's time --- 1966 !! He was so young . What a genius !!!!
SAME THE WAY SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE
I agree
Completely
When is it's time exactly? Because it sure isn't today
@@JoyofBooking 1966 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If ever a man had a way with words..... It's Bob Dylan. He so deserved that Nobel prize
So true!!
Still the coolest guy on the planet! I so adore❤❤❤

I know what he really loves you for
It’s your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat!

Jackie Kennedy's most famous attire, the Pill Box hat.
The Kennedys were our Royal family and Jackie was our Queen.
I imagine many younger folks watching this video may not recognize the brilliance of the lyrics without having lived back then.
is it sad i only found this song looking for death grips
*glass shatters*
@@Designed1 get so fuckin dark in here

As a child first encountering this song I was completely taken by the image of that hat. Then, with the lyrics continually wrapping around the line "leopard-skin pill-box hat" it just added to the song's overwhelming charm. The whole idea of a distinctively original object being the subject of a catchy tune made it unforgettable.

My favourite of his albums. Blonde on Blonde. I saw him in Rome.
I saw him in 78 or 79 in Sydney Aus...awesome !!
There is a live version I think 1984 with lots of top guitar players and it rocks like mad. Clapton, Santana, Mick Taylor, etc. Packed auditorium.

3:18 HE SAID THE THING
"Like a Rolling Stone" part 2 ... Bob channeling his jealousy and resentment into this satirical blues masterpiece. this track is so epic I can't even express. Literally every single version of it is amazing!
Rollicking AND blistering!
Olive Eisner nothing truths in this comment.
There’s better songs than like a rolling stone and this stuck inside a mobile is a personal favourite
Just Like a Woman, Like a Rolling Stone a d Pillbox Jat are all about Edie Sedgwick. Dylan was the biggest asshole on the planet for writing these songs then denying their relationship. I HATED Dylan for that and I still do! What a dick!
This song makes perfect sense , as all Bob's songs do when you listen carefully
"It balances on your head like a mattress on a bottle of wine"
He is calling her a pinhead.
No
This song is a sarcastic riot and one of my favorite Bob Dylan songs. As moving as his more pointed songs such as The Ballad of HollisBrown and The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carol are, I also enjoy those that poke fun at certain kinds of people.
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here.

Only dylan could come up with lyrics like that.
Yo is this Robert guy a fan of Death Grips or something?

Robbie Robertson, smashing it out of the park!

c'mon, how great is this. ! still stands tall today
My favorite death grips song.
Rest In Peace to Hargus Robbins, who played piano on this song and a few others on the album. He has passed away aged 84 today (January 30, 2022)
RIP Mr.Robbins 😔💐
i never even knew a human named Hargus ever existed
and yet i share your bereavement james dean...
anyone that had anything to do with this fabulous recording is a saint to me...
also...anyone named HARGUS is borned with da jam...am i right?

Who played the guitar..?
Even when Dylan was just goofing around he wrote better songs than 90% of the rest of the world.

Fantastic song from an incredible album- the band so loose, yet so tight- mind blowing..
Timothy Ryan exactly what I love about this song. It’s a crazy balance. I think the looseness emphasizes the satire, which just makes it more cohesive or tight overall.
i know what he really loves you for
It’s your brand new leopard skin pillbox hat
When Bob sings de Blues he got his own way to do that without loosing the roots of the music.I just love it,take it into another dimensions.Brilliant🔝🥁🎸🎙🎵🎼
Many thanks to Sweet Angel EDIE SEDGWICK...🎶💄🚬💊☀️💙💚 Putain tu es dans nos coeurs à jamais..Love you
'Blonde on Blonde' Dylan at the height of his powers - (or one of them at least)!
I like to think of it as a very elevated plateau his successes are too much to count
Height!!????? Ha ha ha ha He never stopped!
Purportedly written about actress Edie Sedgwick whom Dylan was infatuated with and who was Andy Warhol's 'it' girl in NYC in the mid 60's
That thin mercury sound....LOVE IT
Did you also read the book called “That Thin, Wild Mercury sound” about the making of this album?
After all these years this song still makes me laugh. "
My favorite old song Get on the Leopard SKIN pillbox hat and DANCE!!!!!!!!
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here.
Put me on a desert island. Blonde on Blonde is the only music I'd ever need...

Blonde on Blonde, the White Album, and Dark Side of the Moon. All the music you ever need!
@@nicholasmaxwell9899 throw in The lamb lies down on Broadway and Europe 72 and you've got a deal
@@gregberry1812 Oh I never got into the Dead. Can you tell me what makes them great? The impression I get is they're just a great live band. But there must be more to them than that?
@@nicholasmaxwell9899 What made them special in my eyes was their live performances. The thing that makes them different from other bands was their set lists. They would play blocks of shows (3 or more in a row) and play different songs every night. Once I saw them with Santana opening and Carlos joined them on stage for one song. Jerry and Carlos have very distinct styles of playing and when it came time for the solo, Carlos begins to play like Jerry and then Jerry fires back with a perfect imitation of Carlos' signature sound and i swear if you closed your eyes you couldn't tell who was who. Another thing that separates them from most other bands is they had at that time 4 potential lead vocalists. Jerry, Bobby, Brent and Phil. When the covered "The Weight" they each would take a verse. They also had a "tapeing section" in front of the sound board where fans were allowed to record their performance. Also, most of the time they were their own opening act. Typically they would play 2 sets with about a 45 minute break in between. When they toured with Dylan they did 3 sets. The first 2 were them and their music and the third set was with Bob. When our fellow fans would bragg about the awesome shows they had seen we would often reply "I've slept through better" (the shows were something of an ordeal and often times we would fall asleep. I took a little cat nap between the second and third set and woke to them doing "Knocking on heavens door".
Everybody say "what a genius!"
It is hard work and team work, too, y'know. Well done to all American musicians of the 20th century, they built an insurpassable legacy, you can't ignore it, whatever you do.
Wasn't just Americans
This is the best version out there. The B square blues in full fidelity. The rhythm guitarist and lead dance on this! Dylan carries them all!1
I think so I love his styles😊
Finally! we 're getting bob again!
WOOHOO !!!!!!!!!!
The greatest album of all time!

It's right up there...lots to Power...the End of the Century (we shall see)
What a year for rock music, well all music in general...Pet Sounds, Revolver, this monster of an album and Aftermath. All released in '66
Absolutely !! IMO ..a very important year for music

Can you dig that thin, wild mercury sound happening?
Yes, I can!
I can't imagine what the record-buying public of 1966 made of 2:14 after hearing it for the first time. It must have felt like one of the first instances of heavy metal.
Didn't link wray's "rumble" come out like ten years before?
More like harder edged rock-n-roll. Precursor to Neil Young and Crazy Horse.
the guitar is Robbie Robertson, also lead guitar for The Band
Howl'n Wolf's guitarist Herbert Sumlin had already gaven them these type of wild electric guitar riffs a lot earlier. Most of this is borrowed from him.

That's Bob his own bad self on lead guitar.
Isn’t that Mike Bloomfield on lead guitar
I think it's Robbie Robertson
Robbie Robertson plays the lead lines over Wayne Moss' backing shuffle, both on electric guitar. Bob and Charlie McCoy played acoustics. Mike Bloomfield does not play on any of the released songs on B-O-B.

Bob, the shite they pull! Anyway, my friend Tom used to laugh at this song, he loved it [his wife divorced him while he was in Nam]. He also loved "crawl across broke glass for you." I like New Morning, Easy Chair, River Flow--hey, I've been to the Suwanee, what a River. Take care.

i think he always liked it that way.
Leopard skin hat brought to fashion by Jackie Kennedy. But you can drop one on Edie's head. It fits
Rip Edie Sedgwick
Poor edie sedgewick..she died a few years later. All that peace n love stuff the hippies preached. Kind of forgot poor edie
Rip
She was a tragic figure if the movie Factory Girl is true... Warhol was an asshole who used and exploited her and then just dropped her. In the movie Dylan (the musician, he isn't actually named but it's obviously him) sees right off what a prick he is. Yes poor Edie, being a wealthy member of American aristocracy doesn't necessarily grant you an easy, happy life. ❤
