i agree and i would loved it if Rhonda came back at the end of the series as an uber powerful lawyer or something like that so she could have given them a little hell
first of all... it is an original opening credits of Melrose Place... it was a test intro. Basicly they didnt want an intro for the pilot cause Melrose Place "was born" from Beverly Hills 90210... so they let the test intro. Almost all the pilots have different opening credits
I loved Sandy and Rhonda. I think Sandy could have become a great villian. I could so see her going after Michael. Or head-to-head with Jo and Amanda for Jake. But thank goodness they got rid of this HORRIBLE sequence.
@@abcsin6526 It isn't - this is indeed what originally played when it was aired. They replaced it with the "proper" Melrose Place theme on the DVDs and streaming. You can still hear it playing in the end credits of the pilot even on the DVDs and streaming though.
I loved Melrose place. After season 5 it went downhill after Allison, Jake, Sydney, Jane, Kimberly and Matt left. Also after that season we didn't see anymore of Shooters and D&D.
Shame they changed it for the DVD release. Perhaps that's why some people might think it's fake; if they watched the DVD, the pilot they saw had the 'normal' MP song.
Amy locane had a thick southern accent at the start then it disappeared. Grant show said the producers didn't know what to do with the character. And the actress who played Rhonda was dissopointed the way they wrote for her. Its funny I remember seeing pics of season 1 just before it started back in the day. The actor playing Billy was a different guy a Canadian actor I believe. And the reason I remember reading they got rid of him because he didn't have a six pack. Aaron Spelling loved his beautiful people !
Purchased the first season on iTunes and yes they use the regular theme for the opening but they actually used this theme for the closing. I must say I like this theme so much better. Hipper and groovier as the regular theme is grandiose.
I always thought jt was weird that Doug, Andrew, and Vanessa all didn’t get their studio shot intros into this opening, just scene footage, but we know they shot studio intros cuz that footage is in the later openings after the pilot
Brendan McClelland They actually did when it first got released. My first copy had this but then it got stolen and I tried a few times to get a used copy that had this but no luck.
The show died after the end of season five. How could they still deliver two more shitty seasons without Grant, Courtney, Doug and Laura?? Blows my mind when I think about it.
@@Puda Yes, I am currently rewatching. This show would be the greatest show of all time had Andrew Shue not been involved. He's a terrible actor and most fans can't stand Billy.
@@Puda Drunk Allison is the gift that keeps on giving. Season 2 Jake was a solid character, once he loses his edge most of his charm is gone. Let's not forget that in the 90210 mythology, Jake taught Dylan how to surf and pick up chicks lol He's necessary.
Yes, you have downloaded it from Tusseries, a spanish web. Have you seen the nick of the one who have record and upload the chapter and the series? Yes, it's me, it's Koonery. Don't be so grateful, please...
Disagree. This one is very bland and middle of the road. Its like something you use for a talk show. The theme they went with for the rest of the series has energy and attitude. Its far more iconic. They made the right choice changing it.
I know this was the 90's ( because I watched it's backdoor pilot, so I should know) but how come they didn't show Matt checking out or reacting to a hot guy in the cast intro? Something to let the viewer know what they were in for.
It was the 90s, the world wasn't exactly welcoming to seeing a gay character on their Tv. Like this show was struggling with some inner homophobia, like we always seen him hugged a guy but never seen him kiss one
I think season one was trying to be too much like another 90210 except for adults. It had its moments, but was too tame. Agree that the show got much better after it. Hard to believe that Michael started off as a good guy. He's such a classic heel to me!
@@borednow5838 me too but90210 got ridiculous in its own way eventually, Kelly was addicted to cocaine, kidnapped and almost killed by a psycho with carbon monoxide poisoning, was shot, went into a coma and had amnesia, was raped, killed her rapist, was arrested for his murder , found out her new fiance had a secret wife who was in a mental institution etc. They should have done more 90210/Melrose crossover's
This theme sounds like it belong more on an 80s late-nite talk show.
Like on CBS, right?

It's not a fake. It's the theme of the first episode. Only the first, the pilot.

They were closed down. Replaced with new sets: "Amanda Woodworth Advertising" and "Upstairs" respectively.

Yeah like Season 5 at a push was good. Season 4 was the last of the greats for me personally
