Okay, I’m SORRY, but why is this the most categorical and understandable wrap-up run-down ever made?? You went into this thinking “funny ha-ha” but came out with an absolute banger
6:21 expected this months candy comparison theme to be a silly goofy time and it turned out to be one of the most insightful wrapups ever. But also a silly goofy time. I love your channel. 😂
You are SO creative! I can't imagine anyone else that I follow comparing books to halloween candy and making it make sense and actually be insightful. Love your content so much.
Brilliantly done! Love the reasons you chose the specific candy for each book. Gives a lot of info actually while also being fun! And hilarious. I’m the middle of The God of the Woods right now and totally feeling the Reese’s mini vibes. 🎃
miss booksandlala i haven't finished watching the video BUT i need to thank you for recommending tha raven king cycle!!!!! MY NEW OBSESSION i can't stop thinking about it, i am DEVOURING this serie!!!!
I read "The Overnight Guest" and honestly can't get it out of my head. The writing was a bit weird and there are so many plot holes upon finishing, but it was decently immersive and thrilling for me! Also listened to JoJo's memoir and liked it just fine. 😊
October was an amazing reading month for me including a few new 5 star reads - Elder Race by Adrian Tchaikovsky (fun sci-fi/fantasy novella exploring a lonely wizard's mental health) and Stolen by the Wolves by Lyx Robinson (Viking omegaverse romantasy, oh my!). Highly recommend both!
SO glad you enjoyed the thirteenth tale! i read it in 8th grade for a book report and it was one of my favourite books for most of my teens and early 20s
Hahahaha your response to Dark Fever is amazing. I read this book back when it came out for a paranormal book club. We all could not stand the main character in the book. The only reason we continued was the lead male character and we were just curious. The series does get more interesting and she does get more tolerable.
Interestingly, I find the mini reese's better balanced! I always felt like the regular had too much peanut butter and not enough chocolate, but the minis are perfect! Nerds... I'm an adult, and they aren't my favorite candy, but I do really like them still which also kinda sums up my feelings about YA lol! It's not my favorite, but I can still really enjoy a YA book if it hits right.
This year my son got a TON of the normal sized Reeses, almost no minis, which was fine, but also almost no pumpkins. 😢 Love this comparing to candy idea - how fun!
I read twenty books in October. But, before you are too impressed, a few were illustrated children's stories, one was a graphic novel, there were several novellas, and the rest were novels. Quick scroll through them, my favorites are Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood, Hazel and the Spooky Season by Kyle Sullivan, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte (reread 50 years after the first read), In the Company of Witches by Auralee Wallace, Garlic and the Vampire by Bree Paulsen, and Lolly Willowes by Sylvia Townsend Warner.
Have you ever read Cat Sebastian? You Should Be So Lucky was amazing. 1960s - don't let the sport romance theme put you off. It's more about people, their challenges, and their struggle with 1960s homophobia. It's really beautifully written, and deals a little bit with grief, with understanding, and the hard acceptance that some of the most important people in your life may never really know the real you.
As someone who enjoyed Bride and also enjoys candy corn, I approve. Do I go out of my way to buy candy corn? No, but if it’s there I’ll eat it and like it. Similarly I got Bride from the library and had a good time. 😂
i read the raven cycle and the dreamer trilogy for the first time ever over the past two months, and i feel the exact same way about the raven king (although i have a different opinion than you about the dreamer trilogy, i rated all three five stars!!). to me the raven king was not exactly satisfying and not exactly as good as the other three… but man the parts that are good in that book are SO good
I need to know what you think about the rest of Mistborn. It may not ever happen but I will be waiting. Side note: I love Candy Corn & white chocolate but allow for different opinions 😳😍
I have to hard disagree about the Reece’s ratios. My favorite ratio is actually the minis that are almost chocolate chip sized, loose in a bag. It’s the polar opposite of the holiday shaped Reece’s.
I also want to know Kayla’s opinions on The Lighthouse Witches (I just read it myself this past week). If I didn’t love The Lighthouse Witches because the only tension (to me) was because of the non linear format of the story should I still read Gods of the Woods?
Hi lala! I think I know a Werewolf book you might like. It's a YA that deals a lot with chronic illnesses and mental health. It's called Lycanthropy and other chronic illnesses by Kristin O'Neal and I've never read anything like it before. Would love to know what you would think about it
It seems like the kislux one looks better than the real one though. Who cares? Nobody is gonna spot it when you wear it in a nightclub or a night out. People are busy with their own lives. And people just don't bother you wearing a real or fake one. Just saying.
The way your candy associations make so much SENSE
THATS MY COMMENT FROM INSTAGRAM!!!!!! I SCREEAAAAMMMMEEDDDD WHEN THAT CAME UP!!!!! i feel literally so chosen right now 😭😭😭😭😭
Okay, I’m SORRY, but why is this the most categorical and understandable wrap-up run-down ever made??
You went into this thinking “funny ha-ha” but came out with an absolute banger
This might be my favorite wrap up theme you've ever done
6:21 expected this months candy comparison theme to be a silly goofy time and it turned out to be one of the most insightful wrapups ever. But also a silly goofy time. I love your channel. 😂
the comparisons to candies were surprisingly insightful
describing Bride as candy corn is so hilarious and accurate
I hate candy corn and loved Bride and I still 100% agree 😂
You are SO creative! I can't imagine anyone else that I follow comparing books to halloween candy and making it make sense and actually be insightful. Love your content so much.
I cannot love this crazy concept more. It 100% works because you are really taking something SILLY serious. This was fun, love it!
would love to see a wrap up where you recommend a movie to the main character of each book, would love the book and film recs ❤
Your take on monthly reviews is elite.
I’m so obsessed with the candy metaphors - you should do it again next year! 😁
Brilliantly done! Love the reasons you chose the specific candy for each book. Gives a lot of info actually while also being fun! And hilarious. I’m the middle of The God of the Woods right now and totally feeling the Reese’s mini vibes. 🎃
I’m surprised the Bride candy didn’t involve peanut butter lol
omg 💀
Not about the books, but I feel the same way about the cookies and cream Hershey’s bar as well. I thought it was the only one.
😮
Candy ranking is my favorite so far! Your explanations made sense.
Idea for next month - which Star sign would each book be and why?
got home from work and now i get my lay in bed time!!!! love the fun wrap up themes
I never knew comparing books to candy could be so insightful. Truly elevating the concept👏
miss booksandlala i haven't finished watching the video BUT i need to thank you for recommending tha raven king cycle!!!!! MY NEW OBSESSION i can't stop thinking about it, i am DEVOURING this serie!!!!
10/10 for the candy analogies! I’m impressed!
I read "The Overnight Guest" and honestly can't get it out of my head. The writing was a bit weird and there are so many plot holes upon finishing, but it was decently immersive and thrilling for me! Also listened to JoJo's memoir and liked it just fine. 😊
the way my spirit used to fall when I would dump my trick or treat bag on the floor at the end of the night and and see a pile of raisin boxes 😞
😂😂😂 real
Your description of cookies and cream 😂 so spot on
Adult nerds lover 🙋🏽♀️. But then they came out with Nerds ropes and then Nerds clusters 😍.
the candy associations made so much sense!!
I have never felt more seen with candy descriptions. 100% on point!!!
I hate whoppers and only like nerd clusters lol
October was an amazing reading month for me including a few new 5 star reads - Elder Race by Adrian Tchaikovsky (fun sci-fi/fantasy novella exploring a lonely wizard's mental health) and Stolen by the Wolves by Lyx Robinson (Viking omegaverse romantasy, oh my!). Highly recommend both!
Omg your candy explanations were so creative and fun to hear about!!
Hi Kayyyyylaaaala 🎉
I'm a new sub and you have so much to binge! Loving your taste. I've loved your recs! ❤
Every video I am just so impressed with how creative and smart you are! I love the Halloween candy theme!!
Boy do I love how your mind works
The theme with the candy is so much fun 🥹 and they all actually make so much sense 😂
SO glad you enjoyed the thirteenth tale! i read it in 8th grade for a book report and it was one of my favourite books for most of my teens and early 20s
These all made so much sense!!

The only reason we continued was the lead male character and we were just curious. The series does get more interesting and she does get more tolerable.
I am so happy that you read and loved The Thirteens Tale! It's one of my favorite books of all time!
Interestingly, I find the mini reese's better balanced! I always felt like the regular had too much peanut butter and not enough chocolate, but the minis are perfect! Nerds... What a wonderful theme! I actually understood the language of candy.
the peanut butter pumpkin is superior, I agree
I love this. Your metaphors were great
This year my son got a TON of the normal sized Reeses, almost no minis, which was fine, but also almost no pumpkins. 😢 Love this comparing to candy idea - how fun!
Amazing comparisons!! They are all on the money

the way you’re just a genius

I loved the candy analogies 🍬📚
This is just making me want Canadian candy 😂
this is the first video my bf joined me in watching from your channel and now he is VERY upset about your candy opinions!!!
As someone who enjoyed Bride and also enjoys candy corn, I approve. Do I go out of my way to buy candy corn? No, but if it’s there I’ll eat it and like it. Similarly I got Bride from the library and had a good time. 😂
The darkfever and raisins pairing is top tier
I stg I *need* to try candy corn one day just to be disappointed 🤣 (I'm British, we don't have them!)
I don’t think I’d be able to name 20 candies considering I haven’t heard of half these. I’m very impressed 😂
good video yet again, thank you love ❤️
My favorite book of October was Eynhallow, which was fantastic, but I had a lot of mid books as well.
i read the raven cycle and the dreamer trilogy for the first time ever over the past two months, and i feel the exact same way about the raven king (although i have a different opinion than you about the dreamer trilogy, i rated all three five stars!!). to me the raven king was not exactly satisfying and not exactly as good as the other three… but man the parts that are good in that book are SO good
I’m an adult and I loved Lobizona. 😂😅
I've never been this early, diving straight in!
Aww I love this idea ❤
This was a delight to watch haha 😂
Good job! I loved this 💕
Not the box of raisins!!! 😂😭
Smart and fun idea.
Terrific video. 🍬❤
please continue/finish your "booksthatfeellikethis" series!
This video has made me so curious about US candy!
Funny, it made me curious about Canadian Candy. (Aero and Coffee Crisp are not things I know of in the US)
I’m so surprised at how we have such similar taste in books but complete opposite opinions on candy 😭
And it has plot twix 11:02
I need to know what you think about the rest of Mistborn. It may not ever happen but I will be waiting. Side note: I love Candy Corn & white chocolate but allow for different opinions 😳😍
Me, watching this in Europe, where we have none of the same candies: 👁️👄👁️
Re: God of the Woods - have you read Picnic at Hanging Rock? Bc God of the Woods sounds very similar to it. A very strange novel.
I have to hard disagree about the Reece’s ratios. My favorite ratio is actually the minis that are almost chocolate chip sized, loose in a bag. It’s the polar opposite of the holiday shaped Reece’s.
white "chocolate" / not actually chocolate makes me feel sick too! it's a good thing I don't like it 😆
do you guys think Brandon Sanderson could make an updated mist born book but with microplastics in our system instead of metal
Just here to say that I have no trouble finding the normal Reeses in stores? Is that a Canadian thing?
Enjoyed lots of choices.
Are the bubbles in an Aero bar not different enough for you? That had me laughing lol.
If you like GOD OF THE WOODS, I think you’d enjoy LIGHTHOUSE WITCHES. There are a supernatural elements to it though.
oooh noted, thank you!
I also want to know Kayla’s opinions on The Lighthouse Witches (I just read it myself this past week). If I didn’t love The Lighthouse Witches because the only tension (to me) was because of the non linear format of the story should I still read Gods of the Woods?

I can't even remember what I read in October, if I read anything at all 😂
How many chapters have you read so far?
And how would you know what a crayon tastes like, huh??
The only way to eat candy corn is mixed in a bowl with salted peanuts….
Speaking my language….big back.
Me, who goes hard for candy corn, sitting here like 😅
Every year I try candy corn thinking it'll taste better. Nope. Still tastes like sweet wax.
In the first ten comments! 😁
👈 adult nerd who loves nerds 😄
Wow, you think you parasocially know someone, then she goes and says that bout hersheys cookies and crème…🤦🏽♀️ shame
As a somewhat aside: god I hated the dreamer trilogy 😂
It seems like the kislux one looks better than the real one though. Who cares? Nobody is gonna spot it when you wear it in a nightclub or a night out. People are busy with their own lives. And people just don't bother you wearing a real or fake one. Just saying.
