There are many videos of the Huelets in use the front end loader was picked up and carefully the bucket was lowered into the hold of the oreboat and the loader was drivin out of the bucket so it could scrape the remaining ore in the corners of the boat, One of the videos has someone with a camera filming while the operator is operating the controls as they ride in the compartment as the bucket goes up and down. It is very quiet in the bucket as the machine is operating, Search for Hulet unloader and many many videos will come up,hit like when you watch because the loaders exist only on these videos.
Great job I didn't realize the creator of the cranes was from Conneaut Ohio I only witnessed them being dismantled. There used to be a bucket and The Operators area at the of a Street near Ashtabula Harbor . They had to be incredible to witness back in the day. Let's hope they resurrect the two remaining cranes and create a working Museum .Thanks for the story
very interesting piece of history, too bad that they tore down all of them. It would have been nice if they'd preserved at least the 2 remaining cranes instead of letting them rust in a field. Thanks for another great video 👍👍
Nothing is safe from destruction in the USA, even if technically it's protected. It's very sad indeed that a major part of the industrial heritage of the US, the heritage that built the modern nation is going to be lost. 😢❤😢
Great video! Thank you for sharing this!

I wish I could have seen these in use. I bet it was really something.
Pretty cool, thanks for the video!
Great video & no one drowned at the end which is good, all the best from Yorkshire
I can remember them being dismantled in Lackawanna, around 1960.
