I firstly obtain Buddha and after that I learned what it was, I didn't even knew what buddhism was. I wasn't interested in it, I didn't even knew it and I didn't needed it.. ...and now I need to find my place with it in here. Everything what is in this video, I'm seen it by myself, this is making it real for me, bow it's making real the effects of this. But my word of wisdom, don do anything if you don't understand why.. there is no right path without a right reason. So, according to Buddha, poor and depressed people are that way because of their previous Karma? So, instead of tyrannical dictators, I get the blame for my misery. Can any sane person call this justice?
For me it was Christianity, it really helped me to stop beating myself up on my own bad decisions and realize that I shouldn’t expect myself to be perfect.

And Buddha never preached to his disciples to follow his teachings blindly, in fact he was quite liberal and allowed his followers to pick and choose their beliefs.
Buddha was wrong, he is now dead, I prefer listening to the man who had victory over death and rose from the dead. Jesus Christ is the only way, what Buddha taught is nothing more than false enlightenment which leads to hell.
@@abhinavsadhu DEBUNKING SOME MYTHS AND MISCONCEPTIONS PREVALENT IN INDIAN SUB-CONTINENT ABOUT BUDDHA DHARMA "A corollary to the above misconception is that the Buddha actually taught what was in the Vedas but his disciples either did not understand his teaching or distorted them. An aspect of the above mentioned misconception has already been shown as totally absurd. But there is another aspect which needs to be dealt with. As the Buddha's immediate disciples had experienced in their own mental continuum what the Buddha meant, there could not possibly have been any distortion. And as the living enlightened lineages continue to date, which means that each generation experienced in their mental continuum, the exact meaning of the Buddha's teachings, to claim that the Buddhists distorted the Buddha's teachings and that's why it has become so different from the Vedic teachings, is the height of naivety. And this brings us to another similar misconception about Buddhism. Most Hindu scholars, or otherwise, would like to believe that the Buddhism is a branch of Hinduism. This misunderstanding is rampant amongst educated Hindus and is a correlate of the story fabricated in the 16th century and later in the Shiva Purana and its likes, that the Buddha was an incarnation of Visnu. First of all Hinduism as it is known today did not exist at the time of the Buddha, so there can be no question about Buddhism being a branch of Hinduism. In fact, according to historical records and anthropological studies, what we call Hinduism is 75% derived from Buddhism and is the offspring of the impact of Buddhism on the Brahmanic system. What existed in the Buddha's time was a form of Brahmanism that was quite different from what is known as Hinduism today. From ancient times there were two streams of spiritual quest in the Indian sub-continent. One was Sramanism and the other was Vedic Brahmanism. These two streams did interact with each other as is seen clearly in the Upanishads of the Brahmanic systems and the sutras of the Buddhists and Jains who were both members of the sramanic system. It should be kept in mind that both the Buddha and Mahavir called themselves Mahasramans, which is a clear indication that they did not subscribe to the Brahmanic systems. In one of the most famous mantras of Buddhism 'ye dharma hetu prabaha hetustathagato hyevadat tesancha yo nirodho evam badi mahasramana, Aswajit, the famous Brahmin disciple of the Buddha called the Buddha Mahasramana. Sramanism was probably older than the Vedic Brahmanism that, according to many historians came into India when the Indo-Aryans transmigrated into the Indian sub-continent, from Central Asia. But there are many who do not agree to this view. However, Sramanism is definitely an indigenous spiritual tradition of the Indian subcontinent, and there is no two thoughts about this. We see the transactions between the Sramans and Brahmins in the Brihadaranyak Upanishad 3.6.1 where we find Gargi (who is often vaunted as the daughter of Nepal) challenging the Brahmin Yagyavalkya. We know that Gargi was a Sraman by the fact that she stuck a twig of the rose-apple (Jambu tree) as a sign of challenge. And also the style of questioning of Gargi is a shade different from the questions put forth by the many other Brahmins in that same text. The Brihadaranyak is thought to be at least 2-3 hundred years older than the Buddha if not older. So Sramanism was an equally old (if not older) stream of spiritual system as Brahmanism and the Buddha has clearly called himself Mahasraman. This would clearly imply that Buddhism is definitely not an off-shoot of Brahmanism, what to speak of Hinduism which is a product of Brahmanism's interaction with Buddhism and thus something that developed in the Indian sub-continent after the Buddha. We could give scholastic quotes to validate this but it's not necessary in an article like this. Vedic Brahmanism metamorphosed drastically due to the catalytic influence of Buddhism and others and became the multifarious system under the generic name of Hinduism. But of course, we cannot say that Buddhism was not influenced by Vedic Brahmanism and later Hinduism at all. That would be too naïve. However, in the give and take which is inevitable in any culture within a space of time (and Buddhism covered 75% of India and 75% Asia for sixteen or so hundred years), it was Hinduism which took mostly from Buddhism and not the other way around. Another interrelated myth is that it was Sankaracharya who defeated the Buddhists all over India and that is how Buddhism vanished from India, or as the former President of India Dr. Radhakrishnan Sarvapulli put it, Hinduism embraced Buddhism and in the process killed it. Again these are myths running wild amongst Hindus of the Indian sub-continent; but they do not have any historical validity. This notion is given further credence to Nepalese, including Buddhist Newars by the Newari legend that Sankaracharya came to Nepal and defeated all the Buddhists, converted the kings and beheaded the Bhikchhus. First of all the Adi Sankaracharya was around the 7th century and great Mahavihars like Nalanda and Bikramashila were still running strong till the 12th /13th century when the Muslims over ran India and destroyed them. Secondly there were still Mahasiddhas like Naropa, Tilopa and many others till the Muslim invasion. So, Buddhism was still running strong five century after Adi Sankaracharya. And furthermore, the stories of Sankaracharya as written by Ananda Giri and Madhava etc. do not contain any element which mentions that he debated with the Buddhists all over India and defeated them. In fact those stories show Sankaracharya debating mostly with other non-advaita Hindus and rarely with the Buddhist. So, the misconception that Sankaracharya went up and down India defeating all the Buddhists and this is how Buddhism vanished from India seems to be baseless and fabricated by uneducated Non-Buddhists. Thirdly, the Sankaracharya that came to Nepal seems to be of the 11th-12th century or later and not the Adi Sankaracharya. He seems to have entered Nepal when Buddhism was beginning to decline in Nepal as a result of its having declined in India due to the Islamic invasion which literally destroyed Buddhism in India. So he did not find any match for his debates and was able to convert many people in Kathmandu. He may possibly be the same Harinanda who was defeated by the Great Tibetan Guru Sakya Pandit. However this is not conclusive. But the stories do say he died in Tibet. However he did not die before he created havoc amongst the Buddhists of Kathmandu Valley, who still do not seem to have recovered from the shock. Big learning houses like Nalanda, Bikramashila etc were raised to the ground and the monks beheaded and the books in the libraries burnt to cinders by the Islamic invaders like Bakhtiar, Khilji etc. It is said in the diary of Khilji's general that, the books of the library of Nalanda took six months for the cinders to settle down and nine months for the smoke to settle down. So much destruction took place all over the Indian subcontinent. It said one of the reasons why the Buddhist monasteries were specially picked out by the Islamic invaders is that they mistook the monks in uniform monk dress as uniformed army men and the books in the library as books on warfare et al. This happened in the 12th/13th century, almost 5 centuries after Sankaracharya. Till then Buddhism was still flourishing strong in the Indian subcontinent." As someone who did some research into religions about a year ago, it probably stems from the connectivity that all religions have. All religions have something that teaches you generosity, forgiveness, kindness, etc. You could say, every religion is a… technique to make people do good things, if you will.

the more pain I feel in life the more I turn to the Budda's teaching. My fiancee/partner of 6.5 years just left me and I'm here reminding myself that all this pain isn't necessary nor does it really exist. I must allow it to flow past and experience here while I have the chance.
Pain is unavoidable. Suffering is optional. Like when you're standing outside and feel cold. When you relax and concentrate a bit you realize that it's just the senses telling you that "you're uncomfortable" but you can let that go and the suffering disappears and the sensory impression becomes "empty". It's just cold, nothing more, you don't feel cold. That's mindfulness and equanimity, in a simplistic way.
I'm facing my traumas and fears head-on and also having relationship issues, but the practices of Buddhism are preventing me from falling into an endless hole of despair. There is something hidden underneath all the layers we mask ourselves with that completely overtakes the mind once you calm it enough to experience it. One could call it infinite love or ineffable happiness, but I personally think it's the location where you can find the epitomized concept of "god." They say that all we need is to look inward to find everything we could ever dream of, and this is true to me. After all, we are the universe experiencing itself and therefore, we have no limits in our minds unless we place them ourselves through ignorance.
i love Buddhism, it is so pure. it is the only religion that doesn't tell you hurt or kill or disrespect other because they don't belive, are impure, of another race or culture or whatever. it's just pure peace

I think the coolest part of Buddhism is that the way its core is written (at least, how you explained it) to *specifically* not conflict with other religions. There's no higher power you need to believe in, and it's modular enough to work within most other major faiths. It's like a well-written software package for 30 different languages with helpful tools, something that most people might benefit from and that doesn't require a huge change.
Sorry bro, but this is wrong. Buddhism specifically argues against theistic religions, especially Hinduism, from which is arose. Buddhists believe in numerous gods - including Brahma, Indra, and others, and in millions of other mythical worlds. It's not just a philosophy, but a religion that has monks, codes of conduct, temples, and even expels people from certain institutions.

As a Christian myself, I was always fascinated by Buddhism and had been researching about Buddhism for over a six months now and I can tell, Buddhism feels much more realistic and tolerant compared to Christianity. Philosophically speaking, Buddhist philosophy has some similarities with Jesus' teaching but as a religion, Buddhism feels to be more open minded than Christianity. Buddhism has all levels of believers and speaks a great deal about inclusion. Like you can be an agnostic or a theist and be a Buddhist. You can venerate Gods of other religions and still follow Buddhist teachings (Merging of Confucianism and Taoism in China, Hinduism in India, Shinto in japan and so on). And always views life realistically, yet at the same time importance is given to Spirituality too.

@alistonsimon297 I want to ask you a question and hopefully you will respond. If a person is a Buddhist, under Christian religion do they go straight to Hell when they die? The Bible says that only those who accept Jesus will go to Heaven. There are tons of people in this world who have never heard of Jesus. For example, most North Koreans are closed off to the world and have never heard of Jesus. So, do they go straight to Hell? They have sinned at one point in their lives. The wages of sin is death. It honestly makes zero sense in my opinion. Do you have any insight on this? And please don't give the cookie cutter answer, "Only God can judge" etc. The Bible is clear about Jesus being the only way to Heaven, so it seems by that logic, all Buddhists go straight to Hell despite their peaceful way of life.
@kaustubh nigam When the Buddha taught Buddhism, he never forced people to change their religions. @@Reepapers in Buddhism everything is started with the mind. What is your state of mind when you were playing it? Did you play out of ignorance? Did you play to learn or experiment? Did you play with the intention of killing(even as a cool cop/hero)? Your mind is the creator of any karma that you sow and reap
Thank you for remaking this video, the old one was way too simplified and flawed. This video is just right, not too complicated or too simplified. It gives the right amount of information, and I really enjoyed it.
As a Buddhist myself I'm really happy to see that there's information like this out here as Buddhism apart from the spiritual part can be really helpful for a successful and meaningful life to anyone.
I am a Buddhist from India There like more than 100 Million of us here and we usually in the THERAVADA and it was great to hear about the other types of Buddhism and man please don't forget "Bhutan"in any further videos It's a place that takes buddhism to it's core
Actually, just take time, when you are free just get a recommended book of Buddhism and spend time with it, as you are a not a Buddhist, you might have to know things in Buddhism, you will never regret.
I am a Christian and learned a short time about Buddhism in preschool, school the first four grads and thats it. I found to Buddhism four years ago traveling through Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Thailand. I am not really religious but I still am a signed up christian in my country. In my country the church does a lot for the schools, handicapped people, shelters etc. so I see it as supporting the poor. I also do not believe in god. I for myself can say that Buddhism made the person I now am today. I can't even say if I am Buddhist because I do not follow the rules strictly. Yes, I drink a glas of wine. Yes, I sometimes eat meat for example the dinner on christmas from my grandmother. But I try not to lose my face when drinking alcohol. I try not to eat meat from animals that are being abused and I buy it (if I buy it myself) in moderate portions. Does that make me less Buddhist? Maybe. But what I want to say is that the teachings of buddhism are true and if people on this planet would atleast try to live day to day close to these guidelines we would have less suffering and humanity would be in a much better place. Nothing is wrong about Buddhism. And Buddhism isn't a religion - to me it is a passion and a guide to living life in a way that we treat other living beings (Nature, Animals and Humans) with respect. It is a philosophy. And every one can be a Buddha even without being a "hardcore" Buddhist. If you ever sleep in a hotel and see the hard working lady cleaning the rooms for 200$ a month and you give her 10 € tip instead of buying a 10 € overpriced beer you are a Buddha for that person. You probably just paid for her childrens education. Who knows. But you did something good. It doesn't have to only be giving people money. Being friendly, treating people with respect and not looking down on others is a good start. And you are correct if you think that all this has nothing to do with Buddhism. It is compassion. It is humanity. And exactly that is what Buddhism is. You see? Buddhism isn't a relgion.
Ive been considering Buddhism for a while, and after this video I want to know more. This video managed to calm my anxiety, which is kind of impressive lol. I’m going to give Buddhism a try after this
Even it's look good but dont believe it just yet Buddha also teach that dont blindly believe anything without second tough If the information you recieve is repeated speaking by various people It's something people inherited them from people before them as a story or tradition It's something majority of people believe it's true It's a teaching in the textbook It's logical when you thinking about that It's just a guessing It's seem plausible It's happen to suit your bias It's come from people who look relible It's from someone who have power over you Always doubt Every message you recieve Always think before you believe Even you already believe it's true Think about it like it's may be not true Including what he just said What he saying And he will say
The way to know it is to experience it. Ehipassiko (Come and See it). Buddhism never force some one to blindly belief anything, instead promote more asking to find the answer for something that you haven't found or confident yet.
. Please allow me to interrupt. I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. In Pidhauli (Vaishali) the local deity is Bardiha Baba. Bardiha means the Baba who didn't allow us to stay where he was staying. At a young age I didn’t care much about my religion since it didn’t interest me, but as I grew up I saw that my way of living, my mannerisms, my language and even the way that I thought all tied with the teaching of Buddhism (specifically Vajrayana). Now a days as I work in the hospitals and clinics as a healthcare professional I carry the practice with me and as I listen to The Dalai Lama’s (also getting the chance to meet him in person) teachings it gives me a better sense of my purpose here on this earth.
I've been an atheist for the longest time. My family is Muslim, but I never believed in it. Then I met an evangelical Christian friend, who talked about Jesus a lot. I realized that maybe believing in something rather than nothing might be worth it. Having faith is something very beautiful and reassuring, but christianity just never felt right. The bible and what it preaches could never align with my personal morals and principles. Buddhism on the other hand... from just watching one video instantly connected with me. Thank you ❤
Buddhism opens your mind. It doesn't forbid you on something, it rather teach you than forcing you. You can choose to believe Buddhism today and not to the next day without any consequences or foul words from fellow buddhist fell upon you. That is one of the beauty of Buddhism. Be at peace and rid of extreme desire.

So, according to Buddha, poor and depressed people are that way because of their previous Karma? So, instead of tyrannical dictators, I get the blame for my misery. Can any sane person call this justice?
@@zfg07 Sounds cruel but it’s technically true. However, I believe both are responsible. The tyrant is responsible for acting like a tyrant, while your previous karma is responsible for putting you under him. But since you still have another life after now, you’ll have to strive for a better rebirth in the present, so you won’t be stuck with a tyrant next life. However, the way you render “tyranny” could also be the case. If you go with your emotions and believe someone is a tyrant just because you think so, you’ll go exactly the way Buddha warned you not to. However, if a tyranny kills and oppresses by his greed, true, you’re stuck with him because of bad karma. So, you have to do good in this life to get a better, tyranny-free, life.
@@zfg07 lmao for deeper explanation!! The reason you are depressed is because you did it yourself buddha ready if you a way out is to meditate and slowly you will be able to understand the nature of life and you will be able to let go. Because when you meditate your mind will be peaceful and that’s when your mind can see the truth of nature how things are going!! So there are two type of karma (good and bad) And the reason you being poor is fist your previous bad karma that make you to born in a poor family!!! BUT!!! that is your previous karma not your present karma, for present karma you have right to choose to do bad or good , and the present karma will be the one controlling your future!! you can pray or meditate and doing good things by follow what Buddha have taught and that will bring you the bright future. And if you said you did good and why you don’t get anything good back? Buddha said doing good if just like planting it’s take time to grown and you need to water your plants regularly!! So that’s mean doing good things you need to do it regularly and wait for the the right time for it to show positive things that will happen to you. Same as doing bad things the one who did bad will at some point they will be getting some benefit from doing bad but when time come they will also get the karma on what they did for sure (but if that person did bad things but if they also did good things or meditate too than the karma they get might not me as bad as If they don’t do anything good at all, but they still can’t run away from the sin they did. But that is really rare to happen lol because bad person keep doing bad things because they are getting benefits from doing it. And for poor and rich Buddha said you might be born in poor family because of your previous karma!! But in order to get rich Buddha also giving a tip he said ( your need brains + previous good karma + hard working ) in order to be rich, using brains and hard working is more than enough to get rich but you might not as successful as the one who have previous good karma ( like the one who have previous good drama will easily be rich like they will have a lot of person helping them to be successful or they will have a person who lead the way for them to be successful or born in a rich family )

Well I am born Buddhist but just learn and read about Dharma. If you try to learn deeply about Buddhism you will understand the nature of life more!!!
Don't worry about anything. All Buddhist temples are open to everyone whether they are Buddhist or not. If you are in the temple no one asked you about anything. Just find a monk and ask your problems. Plus you don't want to be a Buddhist to follow Buddhism. Buddha never asked for his followers to ban their previous beliefs. Buddhism extends far beyond Asia. There are approximately 3.6 million Buddhist in the United States, and that number is growing yearly. Buddhism is on the rise in many Western Nations. I know the percentages are low compared to the overall population, but it wasn't that long ago that the number was in the thousands, not millions. Christianity is no longer meeting the spiritual needs of so many in the West, nor does it even make sense to many of us. Christianity seems to thrive on guilt and suffering, and in recent years has been corrupted beyond all recognition. Buddhism offers us peace, an understanding of ourselves and the world around us, and a real release from constant dissatisfaction.
I think it's bcos Buddhism doesn't bind you to it. Buddhism teaches the right way of life... And he teaches you with the freedom on you whether to follow or not.

@@abhinavsadhu DEBUNKING SOME MYTHS AND MISCONCEPTIONS PREVALENT IN INDIAN SUB-CONTINENT ABOUT BUDDHA DHARMA
"A corollary to the above misconception is that the Buddha actually taught what was in the Vedas but his disciples either did not understand his teaching or distorted them.
Till then Buddhism was still flourishing strong in the Indian subcontinent."

As someone who did some research into religions about a year ago, it probably stems from the connectivity that all religions have. All religions have something that teaches you generosity, forgiveness, kindness, etc.
You could say, every religion is a… technique to make people do good things, if you will.
@@aiosquadron what you said is true. Every religion is trying to teach what is good but Buddhism is less strict imo. Buddhism teaches that killing is incorrect or drinking until we lose our mind is wrong. And it didnt force people to stay inside their religion, force their spouse to join Buddhism, you can leave Buddhism anytime if one day you think Buddhism is not for you. That is truly what religion should be.

Westerners are knowledgeable. But more research is needed.

Agree.
A Christian man or a Muslim girl can be a Buddhist if they practice these simple things to improve your well being.

Does playing airsoft for fun (and with no intent if hurting or causing anyone distress) still gain bad karma?
@@Reepapers in Buddhism everything is started with the mind. What is your state of mind when you were playing it? Did you play out of ignorance? Did you play to learn or experiment? its very rare a westerner properly explains buddhism, and despite some problems with pronounciation,it was very well done.
Jesus came to study the teachings of Buddhism. During Jesus' age 13-30
You can eat meat if you didn't order the killing and the animal wasn't specifically killed for you though.
buddhism is a lifestyle and not a religion
I like your way of living: a good person
Another form of Buddhism: just be your better self everyday

In India the Vajrayana Buddhist legacies have been occupied by brahmins and converted into kali, durga, shiva etc
His timeless teaching will bring the world a better place to live with generous act by the way he teach.

@@Sana-cz9neIf you read a little of the Quran even though you were a Muslim and opened another book that has nothing to do with you!? This is your problem. I was learning about Buddhist philosophy and you uploaded a video about Buddhism. What a coincidence!

Theres another mistake in mentioning vajrayana budhism
And they didnt even mention about heenyana

Answer is :
-> Sexual Misconduct examples are :
i)Pedophilia
ii)Sexual Activity between blood relation ; example between Father/Daughter or Mother/Son.
iii) Sexual Activity between MAN and Animals.
AND so on.....
Thing to be noted is : Sexual Misconduct encompasses a large entity whereas "consensual sex" does not .
To make my answer really simple to understand LET'S look at it in this way :
There is a possibility of "Consensual Sex" in above mentioned point
i) and ii)... ; but WE ALL KNOW that it is 'WRONG' , really really WRONG .

That's probably anxiety. Dont be scared to look like a fool. Dont be scared to follow your heart
Buddhism is shrinking not rising anywhere cause it’s false.
More like protestant Christianity is dying. And traditional apostolic churches are thriving.
In India too buddhism is the choice of atheists
