Love how wholesome this is. And despite the comments being full of bs standards of how gay guys are supposed to be, I am actually real happy that this entire series is real open to the idea that even in a culture filled with stigma and unsavory treatments towards gay men, especially effeminate ones, I am loving that its been real clear about Weiying being just as masc as Lan Zhan while also being 100% ok with being Lan Zhan's wife-- heck its even real cute that Ayuan called him mommy and tho he is shocked by it, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if he genuinely ended up not being concerned by it.
Gods I love this series so much. Being a gay guy myself I am so happy this series exists as it gives me hope that perhaps one day we won't need subtext and sneaky meanings to showcase wholesome family moments for people who are not straight
I love their story, I've rarely seen a straight couple that could match them (perhaps none), think I've never seen something so beautiful... and it's nice to see someone who is gay saying this because I am not gay but always felt like it was cool that both of them are men who consider themselves men and have a "men's style" while Wei Ying is ok with being a wife, like it doesn't really matter. The problem is many people still like to associate homosexuality with promiscuity, which is ridiculous and there's a lot of prejudice. But maybe one day... or certainly one day, considering how things are changing faster now... Things could be different and it would be awesome if they could film a new version of The Untamed without all that censorship one day.
The author did a really good job at displaying their romance. I also dislike the stupid jokes about roles in lgbt relationships. I've met couples where both guys were tall, muscular, strong. Neither was the "wife". One of the couples was volunteering for foster, and had kids in their care, and let me tell you, those 2 guys were better mom and dad figures than many straight families i met in my 30+ years being alive. Lan Zhan and Wei Ying jokingly call eachother husband and wife, which doesn't make either of them weak.
I've seen gay couples and one of them being called mom by their kiddos. It's so adorable.
