- Dorestad raid is a small boat gathering, organised by Natuurlijkvaren.nl
It draws an international crowd, with returning visitors from the UK, France, a Swiss entry, and of course the Netherlands.
We had four days of sailing, paddling and rowing, this year in the waters around Zwolle, exploring a newly made channel (Reevediep).
We had fun pottering about in our various modes of transport, with one higher wind day, and resulting capsizes.

Seeing sails floating threw the grass one after the other. That shot was just magical. Great raid.

The closer north Europeans get to the water the more you realise it's the water that links us together as a family.
Childhood holidays on the Norfolk Broads of England were very much like this.
Loved the idea of using the barge as a pontoon - did you sleep on her?
Yes the barge was homebase for the trip. Norfolk Broads should be fun as well

Thanks. I've still got a bit on here, have started processing some video, but also started home rebuild, so it make take a bit. Looking forward to editing them though.
What is the pedal power device in use on that boat?
It's home made, they can pedal from all sitting positions it swivels.
