- While on a visit to Cyprus, DIO's Chief Executive Mike Green joined Brigadier Andy Sturrock of UK Strategic Command and Air Vice Marshal Peter Squires, Commander British Forces, to open 34 new SFA at RAF Akrotiri.
The homes are the first to be completed under the Apollo programme, a major UK StratCom and DIO initiative which will heavily invest in Cyprus. Other projects already completed under Apollo include the new Queen Berengaria School at Dhekelia Station, with lots more to come.
1991.. lived in philip road, akrotiri.... loved that place
Now compare that to married quaters in Uk . I don't know how come aboard MQ are much spacious . Even in island like cyprus or in brunei were space is scared.
The kitchen cupboard doors are so ugly.
Bit different from Rowner
where are trees!!? I hope they inject some greenery.
No air conditioning
The British haven't discovered it yet.
I lived in some crap Married Quaters when I was in the RAF .Wattisham & Boulmer were the worst!!
Looks awful, especially when you compare to some of the houses that were built at Episkopi in the 60's-70's. Akrotiri had some old housing that certainly needed updating but is it too much to ask that new housing look nice?
Besides the fact that Cyprus doesn't have the infrastructure for electric vehicles, they have one of the lowest purchase rates in the EU
