Just found your channel mate. I've been getting my stuff together for the last 18 months. I failed one of my goals too, I didn't quite manage to pay off an old loan, I've got £1500 left due to the over time drying up at work but I'm looking forward to 2025. No more debt other than the mortgage after that loan has gone:)
I love your channel as it’s so grounded in the real world. I have a book goal as well but while I have written much of it, I had not thought of joining a writing group. That sounds like a great idea. You are miles ahead of me with the UA-cam channel goal as I have yet to start. All plans but no action. None of your goals really failed. I find your progress inspiring.
Well done on writing a lot of your book 👏 If you’re wanting to make UA-cam videos I’d just start and learn as you go rather than waiting for the perfect moment. I watch my first videos back now and can’t believe how much I’ve progressed but so glad I started. Will you be doing personal finance content or another topic? Thanks for the support 👍
My UA-cam channel will be just showing the world my vintage watch collection. My goal is to start in January. I do not expect it will ever become monetised. I get people from all over the world asking me about the obscure brand I collect, ‘Mentor’, as I have a website about them but I thought a UA-cam channel might be a good addition.
Moving in the right direction is always a win, you moved that bit closer to financial independence. It’s not a question of how hard you try or how well you succeed it’s how you keep trying. 2024 has been a great year for you and the lessons learned will make 2025 even more successful
That might be on of my 2025 goals 😁 btw let me know if you fancy being on my podcast in the new year, would be interested in hearing about all your side hustles
I feel like I did well with my goals this year, and it functioned as intended as the stepping stone I wanted. I would take a look at your goals this year and ask yourself: was it unrealistic? (adjust it), was it realistic but an unexpected thing happened (keep it as is), was it realistic but an expected thing derailed it (plan better for known expenses with sinking funds etc.), is it no longer serving you? (get rid of it). There is literally nothing else you can do. I would say you're a bit harsh on yourself saying you failed with the progress you did make. I would ask yourself this question and make your goals firm. I know you have a 'reach for the moon, land in the stars' attitude when it comes to goals, but have an end point that you rise to meet instead of giving yourself an out that it's impossible to begin with.
Keep up the good work
Thanks for the support 👍

Well done on paying off the loan and nearly being debt free! That’s amazing 🙌

@ sounds great, you should definitely do it 👍
Out of interest is the writing group online or in person? I'm planning to write a book too, a sort of local ghost stories/local history book.
Mine is in person but I’ve done a couple with New Writing North who offer online and in person ones

Thank you 👍 Happy New Year to you when it comes. Hope you had a nice Christmas
Speaking of goals, I did well this year, invested 10k, next year we’ll both smash it! LETS GO TGS!
Well done on investing 10k, that’s amazing 👏 we will both smash 2025 🙌
Next we need to get you monetised, it’ll open up a lot of opportunities to financial freedom! Let’s go brother!
That might be on of my 2025 goals 😁 btw let me know if you fancy being on my podcast in the new year, would be interested in hearing about all your side hustles
My goal at the moment is to eat through this mountain of cheese and chocolate before I start my diet on the first. Anything else is a bonus 🤣
Haha love it 😂
Same! 🧀

Thanks so much for that advice, I’ll take those points on board when I set my 2025 goals 👍
