20:00 You want to see "wants it to be done"? If you ever get deeper into the lore, look into Dante, chapter master of the Blood Angels. "We all know black don't crack. So if he's looking like that, he's way past retirement date."😂😂😂 Great commentary. That guy is a 400 year service member, as I'm sure has been stated by many in the comments. There is such incredible story telling for his character and he is actually the main focused character during the brawl they have with the Mad Max rejects. and I love how like a good sergeant/NCO, he tries to keep his officer (Titus) in check, when he wiles out on the tank and forgets his coffin/cargo.

Warhammer 40,000 as an IP has been around since 87 I think. It's existed in a bunch of mediums and has a ton of video games of all genres but it's primarily a tabletop game. Guess the best explanation of 40K comes from an official quote for it: It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries The Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the Master of Mankind by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the Imperium for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day, so that he may never truly die. Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in his name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defense forces, the ever-vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from aliens, heretics, mutants - and worse. To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods. But honestly no space marine fears death, just a pointless waste of their lives. Really life in 40k is cheap and it's spent like bullets. Space Marines are strong, borderline immortal super soldiers that are given the best arms and armor possible but every one of them will die in blood and fire be it tomorrow or 1,000 years from now. They just hope they die in glory.
Your warhammer breakdown, made me happy that a story with few words can be understood. You got my subscription and if you are more curious of the warhammer 40k universe. There are a lot of lore videos out there.
Yep so Titus the kid did indeed prove himself in a way to the old man and that was indeed supposed to be a bit of a hopeful turn around for him. Warhammers schtick is a war between men and demons, and in this depressing setting many humans actually turn to the dark side. So the old mans fears are justified. But i think he saw at the end that the kid might actually be humanities salvation, a leader for good. Notice how Titus at the end didnt look prideful or anything. He looked at him with compassion. So the kid might not know fear, might be capeable of tremendous feats, but he seems to wield it in service of the ones he wants to protect. And thats the quintessence of Titus' character in the game too.
Just so u know ep 5 is set in the 40k universe. You said u dont know who u should be rooting for. Keep in mind that there are no good guys for the most part in the 40k universe. Every faction in 40k is just its own wonderful little flavor of evil. But that's why it's so entertaining. Bc the bad guys are almost always badass. Now you are a woman and as such it's not likely that you'll understand or become infatuated with 40k. This is bc it is designed to entertain men for the most part. Every kind of atrocity and madness u can think of can be found in 40k. And that is why most of its fanbase is made up of men. There are however a handful of equally delightfully degenerate and psychotic women that are fans of 40k as well.
Even though black don't crack, Astartes service is for life and they can live for 100s of years because their biology is enhanced, only in honorable death is there duty to the God-Emperor of Mankind done. The animation gets a lot across about Titus throughout in such small ways. The way he leaves the sarcophagus behind and rushes into battle alone and receives that apprehensive look from the other Astartes when its' handed back before they continue, you don't have to know that the Ultramarines value tactics and rules to know he's the maverick of the group. The first Astartes to fall pulling himself out of his Power Armor and crushing his own head evokes a sense that Astartes are still human even behind their dedication to dogma, genetic superiority over normal humans, something dark is pushing Titus scarier than a Tzeentch demon that can weaponize fear against you and that sort of devotion is what makes the Imperium of Man so terrifying to begin with. With what they face daily and all sides and from within, humanity should have fallen thousands of years ago, though we are born prey there is something tenacious and predatory in humanity itself that makes us just as fearsome to our unforgiving environment as it is to us.
LOL, Space Marines don't retire. Commander Dante of The Blood Angels is the oldest fully active Space Marine, is over 1,500 years old, but the absolute oldest is over 10,000 years old. The Irony is without even knowing the lore you summed up why this universe is so shitty when you were talking about Religion. The old man's Fear is that the Child would fall to the powers that made the Demon sorcerer they just killed. If you are interested in the lore, I highly recommend Bricky's Every Faction Explained Videos Parts 1&2 they give a solid foundation on the Universe.
So the gold dots on both the Black Sgt's forehead and on Titus' forehead are called service studs and they denote years of service in the Chapter. Silver is 50 years and gold like their studs are 100 years, so yes both of them are well over 400 years old at least as the studs only count years of combat service. No they are not entirely cybernetic none of the Space Marines looked to be missing limbs or have mech arms or legs so they are all still flesh and blood I'd say. Warhammer has some very deep lore and hundreds of full novels so there is a wealth of details and meanings to every things you see even the little decorations on the armor has back story.
I love the take during the review about humans needing faith in a higher power, just wait until you find out about the Adepta Sororitas and their relationship with faith, ooooohhhh man!
You analysis is actually on point with the plot but here some extra information that you would like interesting. The boy with no fear is Titus, there was actually two game about him, Space Marine 1 and 2. He's basically like the Doomguy of Warhammer 40K where he survived situation where NO MARINE should have survived and did his job. He's also very unorthodox in his Tactic which is why he's both respected by his battle brothers but also suspicious by his superiors. So Titus kept being sent on all these suicide missions, if it was any other marine they would have folded, or turned traitors. Not Titus, because like he said "My pledge is Eternal Service."
As bad ass as Titus is there are other astartes that surpass even him, like Dante. Dante defend Baal from a massive Tyranid hive fleet (could have been a splinter fleet I can't remember) while being 1500 years old. He was becoming an old man actually feeling the aches and pains of age
Youre really spot on with the faith and spirituality being important in a dystopian world to cope with the terrible fate these men met as soldiers broken from childhood. Its also 10x fold in this universe because demons DO exist and like you saw, they will corrupt and destroy you given an inch of fear. Fun facts: The old man is indeed old. Hes been in service for over 400 years (the 4 gold studs in his forehead). Hes a genetically enhanced so they live a long time. Almost all marines die in combat before old age ever takes them. The 'Nomands' are cultist to demon gods. Not very smart but suicidally devote to their chaos gods
In this universe Hell is real. The older marine was afraid that the child he found would be corrupted by the forces of hell and become evil. You see this when the demon gets in his mind and the child manifests into a corrupted marine who then tends him w his claws. A man w no fear can easily be turned to evil.
As a newer but very enthusiastic Warhammer 40K fan I appreciate how horrified you were by the Astartes. I love them, but they're Lovecraftian-tier scary mfs and they're the 'good' guys in that grimdark universe, the baddies you glimpsed in this episode often get WAY worse in the games and lore - and frankly, so do the good guys!
You should react to Warhammer 40k lore videos. I think that would do really well. I'd start with Brickys factions videos and his Space Marine Legion video and his time-line video.
good call's on warhammer dear. 👍 no one knows whats going on with Titus's storyline, we know he is resistant to Chaos, and now we know he knows no fear. we also know that the Emperor has spoken to him telepathically (the emperor is uh.... sort of a corpse... ish? his soul is still alive and he rarely talks to anyone, like for hundreds or thousands of years.)
You're entertaining!! Will check your reaction to Another World, and Armored Core (my favorite episodes) and might subscribe! Btw, Astartes don't talk during missions in lore because they're SO in tune with each other during fighting that they don't need to. Astartes are the Ultimate soldiers of humanity! May I make recommendations? "Astartes" UA-cam series is made by one of the guys who did the episode you watched. Also, I highly recommend Bricky's "Warhammer Factions" series (2 parts). Also, I feel like you'll have GREAT reactions to black mirror if you haven't seen it yet!
On the "who to root for" All factions in 40k are evil, but generally Chaos (the forces that corrupted those people that were living on that planet) are more evil than the Imperium. So in this setting, I was rooting for the Space Marines. Also because the guy called Titus is the Main Character from some of the games, so always have a soft spot for him Obviously just cause a faction is more good, doesn't mean people will always root for them. Every person in the community has factions or armies they like the most, or collect etc. and may root for them But yeah, me personally? I'll usually root for the better (closer to good) of the factions in a situation. So if this was the Imperium vs the Tau, I'm rooting for the Tau. If the Orks or Tyranids are involved I'll always root for either of them, as they're just hungy bois who need their food. Both the orks and tyranids are vicious but it's part of their instincts, the orks for reproduction as they're a fungus that grows via blood, and the Tyranids, as they're fluly just animals who kill for food
Really, it's killing them with their doubts. Like the veteran sergeant feared Titus would become a renegade fighting for the very powers they were trying to destroy so he was felled by that aberration. Guess you can interpret that first guy as he hates the weak child he was made from so his, he crushed it and that crushed his head in his helmet. Titus, he has nothing but rage in him so it kind of backfired. Honestly the was an audio drama that did something similar with another group of space marines, the Flesh Tearers where an alien tried to get in their heads and crush them which an all-consuming fear that can burrow into the core of any mind, but all the core of a Flesh Tearer is made from is rage. It goes into the whole mess of how magic works in 40k but it checks out lore wise.
Interesting interpretation! Another way to read this would be that he was afraid of being seen as weak/was afraid that he was weam without his suit. The amor pulls him out and crushes his head, followed by a closeup on the words "the lie".
Warhammer is a franchise with huge amounts of lore so that episode only really touched the very tip of the iceberg. If you are curious about the universe, this video explains it for beginners: ua-cam.com/video/pLwY0Fzq9QQ/v-deo.htmlsi=4gqn17A7eWFYy_44

Damn You got it straight away ironically these guys the ultramarines are considered the most user friendly there are other space marine units that are well to put it mildly are bat shit crazy looking at you flesh tearers and you black templars lol
Wanted to add some lore to your analysis. They are space marines, they are genetically engineered humans made by the technology of the empirium of man. They are recruited, kidnapped, or volunteered and then weeded out for the weak and then they go through the process of adding additional organs, special organs, and a genetic organs called geneseed in this case from their primarch of the ultra marine, these modification made them live longer, powerful, rarely sick, no sex drive, and with their training and conditioning should have no fear. The one who narrates is a Sargent with 400 Year of service and the one who recruited Lt. Titus (The kid that has no fear). His fear was that Titus will became a heretic and join the "archenemy" the thing they are fighting (which space marine can become a heretic)

"We all know black don't crack. So if he's looking like that, he's way past retirement date."😂😂😂
Great commentary.
"There's Strength In Repetition..."
Little fact about the Pac-Man story. It's actually the inspiration for a new video game coming out soon called *Shadow Labyrinth*
Its a Pac-Man spinoff thats definitely gonna be its own horror/adventure game 😎
That's super creative! If it's anything like this short, it'll be a helluva ride!
There is no Retirement for Space Marines
😭
@@AishaWilson their retirement is in death and only death, and BADLY wounded, missing legs and arms is not even enough, as they can fuse him with a giant mech, and use him in war again... like i said, in death and only death...
love the reaction w40k have a lot of lore to learn
Warhammer 40,000 as an IP has been around since 87 I think. It's existed in a bunch of mediums and has a ton of video games of all genres but it's primarily a tabletop game. Guess the best explanation of 40K comes from an official quote for it:
It is the 41st Millennium.
Nice breakdown for someone who isn't familiar with the franchise. You have a great eye
Thanks so much!
You are awesome! got u a subscriber!
Thank you so much! 💕
Retiring - Only in death does duty end.
"This is brutal"......
"Do yall have an AOE to take them all out?"
I love this so much.
You're right about fear. I just never heard it in words until I watched your vid.
Space marine truly knows no fear but they can worry only worry but fear no they can't feel that at all
Yep so Titus the kid did indeed prove himself in a way to the old man and that was indeed supposed to be a bit of a hopeful turn around for him.
I really enjoyed your reaction. You had me rolling. Thanks 😊
Thanks for watching! 😁
Great analysis! Definitely earned a sub😊
Thanks! I really appreciate you watching!
Brilliant reaction. I am going to have to sub and see what else is in your inventory. :)
Awesome and insightful reaction
Dude your commentary is actually hilarious. You should check out more 40k stuff. It's such a good IP.
Amazing reaction. You are one of us already (one of us one of us)
wow what a great breakdown too. spot on, on all departments
Thank you kindly!
10,000 years of service is insane...I'da quit after mission one 😭
Loved these two episodes!! Great show so far.
Agreed! They were sp creative
I've heard they're 50 years each. Since Titus served with the Deathward for 100 years and only got 2 more.
@@cyclone8974 silver studs are 50 years, gold are 100. it can vary by chapter.
Welcome to Warhammer 40k!
In Warhammer there is no retirement, only expiration dates.
Damn, you nailed it! Good eye.😮
In this universe Hell is real. The older marine was afraid that the child he found would be corrupted by the forces of hell and become evil. You see this when the demon gets in his mind and the child manifests into a corrupted marine who then tends him w his claws.
A man w no fear can easily be turned to evil.
16:47 - Do I hear Slaanesh? >:( Just kidding, hilarious and insightful reaction
How cute...retirement for a Space Marine. May such thing never happen cause we would truly be doom
On the "who to root for"
All factions in 40k are evil, but generally Chaos (the forces that corrupted those people that were living on that planet) are more evil than the Imperium. So in this setting, I was rooting for the Space Marines. Also because the guy called Titus is the Main Character from some of the games, so always have a soft spot for him
Obviously just cause a faction is more good, doesn't mean people will always root for them. Every person in the community has factions or armies they like the most, or collect etc. and may root for them
But yeah, me personally? I'll usually root for the better (closer to good) of the factions in a situation. So if this was the Imperium vs the Tau, I'm rooting for the Tau. If the Orks or Tyranids are involved I'll always root for either of them, as they're just hungy bois who need their food. Both the orks and tyranids are vicious but it's part of their instincts, the orks for reproduction as they're a fungus that grows via blood, and the Tyranids, as they're fluly just animals who kill for food
you root for whoever you like, every single race in 40k is messed up.
They retire when they are on their deathbed
Excellent job on picking up on the plot and details in the 40k episode, especially considering that you were unfamiliar with the universe.
Thanks so much!
He was 400 years old or even older cuz his a blade guard veteran
EAT
silver stud = 50 years gold stud =100 years per stud
Warhammer is a franchise with huge amounts of lore so that episode only really touched the very tip of the iceberg. If you are curious about the universe, this video explains it for beginners: ua-cam.com/video/pLwY0Fzq9QQ/v-deo.htmlsi=4gqn17A7eWFYy_44
Space marines don't retire, you're going to find out so much about it in the near future. This is going to blow up like the original star wars or lotr, They are bringing out series and movies soon. Warhammer 40k has been around since the 80's, has a massive following and now amazon games workshop and Henry Cavil are about to make something epic. Games workshop and Henry have made sure amazon get no rights to change or make warhammer woke. They refuse to work with Amazon if they want to change things and make them gay.
Hilarious reaction
Damn You got it straight away ironically these guys the ultramarines are considered the most user friendly there are other space marine units that are well to put it mildly are bat shit crazy looking at you flesh tearers and you black templars lol
a+ commentary 😂
forbodding the series lol
hey Aisha come to us...come to 40k. React, watch, listen. Get much traffic.
I challenge you to debate the God Emperor of Mankind in "The Last Church" warhammer 40k animation,
Who should you root for? It's Warhammer 40K, you shouldn't root for no one 😅
There are no good guys in Warhammer
Welcome to Warhammer 40k.
Girl, you ain't leaving now.
Get commfy...
