The orders system seems to be very similar to the orders system use by the original Adeptus Titanicus and the first and second editions of Space Marine. And I still have my cardboard-and-plastic buildings from those editions of Space Marine so that'll help me with the terrain issue!
Okay, I have to say one thing: Aeronautica (R.I.P.) isn't an X-Wing clone. It's admitedly very niche first edition did the thing long before X-Wing released.
Epic got me into the hobby, this one really tempts me. Rules complexity and such doesn't bother me, what bothers me, is the fact its Horus Heresy. Why didn't they just go 40k? They've made a niche genre for a niche setting....who is it for?! I would of thought it was for peeps who grew up on the old stuff or watching family playing but not in this setting....I hope they know something I dont but does mean its hard for me to justify the price. Thanks for the vids gents.
The same reason the original was set in the Heresy. It’s too expensive to make that many sprues. Civil war allows you to use the same models for both sides.
i hate that its not 40k but if i put myself in the meeting room with the investors it makes sense, if it became 40k epic it might take ppl from reg 40k. If im gamesworkshop, why bite the hand that feeds which is 40k its a no brainer and i don't blame them for it.
Someone I spoke to said, and I think I agree with them, that its probably to reduce their army building/modelling bandwidth only having to cover marines and guard
People keep mentioning x wing for the orders things but Epic had that mechanic in many of its edition including the first edition of Space Marine back in like 89 or 90.
I mean... truthfully, how hostile ton any intellectual effort do you have to be to go "Oh these army building rules are just too hard". They aren't even a little hard. Of the things to critique, this is a bizarre one.
We can't be bothered to play this one thats for sure, and the rules are hardly that much of an intellectual effort given they've been recycling their rules for about 30 years now... Also we're giving our point of view and truthfully when I started reading past the main rules body into army building I just could not be bothered to try any more, there's better simpler more fun systems out there for our (and a lot of people like us) taste.
There are plenty of criticisms to be leveled the legions. Yours was an extremely poor one. It, again, simply came off as hostile. Like you hated the game before you got it in your hands and invented a reason post facto. @@AgentsofSigmar
That’s your opinion and not that you’ll care but you’re wrong. I was looking forward to this but realised after reading through the rules I didn’t want to play a game with this setup anymore as I don’t think it’ll be worth the hassle…
Not come across you guys before, as a newcomer this sadly comes across as a half baked review. Your understanding of LoS is totally wrong. The 25/50% modifiers only affect Titans, the rest of the time pretty much if you see if you can shoot at it. I really dont understand your criticism of list building. I dont know your guys' gaming background but aren't force organisation charts like, really common? Like you must take these and can also take these isn't really very out of the ordinary. Your dismissal of "these are the possible Titan weapons, pick two of them" was quite laughable. I am totally in agreement that the naming conventions are a bit dragging and there is definitely a crazy amount of keywords.

That’s a bonus! 😄
It's called alternating activations, boys :)

You're right. Completely forgot that!

Agreed. If there were epic Tau I'd have jumped all in. (I have lots of 6mm Forgeworld Tau).

@@goreshadetube This. i think the test is whether this takes off. If it'd be worth investing in all of the 40k factions for it.

I love templates 😂
We Go is more commonly called alternating activation. This game has distinct phases so that does not translate perfectly to this.

I was just thinking this. These guys sound like they kind of can't be bothered to play a war game.
If you have never watched one of their videos before, it's all very light hearted

To be fair, if you're new to us, you won't know that half-baked is our MO.
@AgentsofSigmar hahaha, in that case maybe I should check out a few more vids 😅
Please do!
