Historical romances are so much fun! I still have so many older books to read, I'm trying not to think too much of the less traditionally published historicals right now. I feel like it always ebbs and flows, and hopefully it's just a weird time for them right now. But always happy to read backlists and share those with others. And love the new shelves Hope!
@@Tharenreadsbooks thank you! And yes I feel the same way! I’ll keep reading them and sharing them and just hope that other people will give them a chance and fall in love with them too
Bookish Melody did a really good video about this just a few days ago. I am noticing there are alot of big authors giving up on HR. Lisa Kleypas, Sarah Maclean and Beverly Jenkins have all either stopped or switched to other genres. It's kind of sad and I feel like I just really got into the genre. I had thought Bridgerton would have brought alot of people into the genre, but it seemed to do the opposite. I think I'll have to start supporting more indie historical romance authors. Great video!!
@@FiFiReadsBooks I know, it’s insane! But so many people do love historical romance so I can’t believe it’s gotten to this. But you know things fluctuate so hopefully it comes back to the forefront soon. I think sometimes it intimidated people if they don’t “love history”
@ I worry about that too but hopefully they can hold out a bit longer. I don’t think publishers really look at what people read anymore because people ARE reading historical romance
Historical romance will never die!!!!!! It's actually my favorite genre
Same! It’s the only romance books I read.

@@HopeVollm All you can do is hope the pendulum swings back soon. I fear some authors will give it up entirely.
