@@patrickloughrey As mentioned previously, Pat, I fully believe Rodgers came back on premise he was getting SFA money to build his own squad, and that tri-party agreement between Rodgers, Desmond and the board of directors, was kept completely incognito from any player or staff member.

@@patrickloughrey it’s a two-sided sword for me. I’m on one hand, never one for public displays of criticism, subtle or apparent, you keep all that exclusively internal. Especially when the Hun media are always waiting to pounce on us at every breadcrumb we leave. On the other hand, the camel’s back is evidently broken and CalMac perhaps couldn’t resist a public vent to say to the board, I know more than you perhaps think and I’ll start speaking if things don’t shift soon? Perhaps. Callum isn’t stupid, he’s one of us, and he know exactly what is going on behind closed doors, albeit not fully privy to Rodgers part in all this hoarding millions. I do think it’s the captain’s obligation to speak on behalf of the fans and I’m glad he done it. We were on such a high after the US trip and rightly so, but now it’s quickly evaporated again.

Kyogo is still our best striker at our football club and he has score well over 70 goals, he has seen off GG AND OH,we need a top quality striker that better than kyogo to take us to the next level. Brendan Rodgers will never play 352 or a 442. i prefer to see celtic playing 2 strikers up front because its shown in the past with martin o'neil that you have better options in the box
( 22 mins ) Ive went & watched Celtic pre seasons in Australia and Japan. The score matters to us who want ti see Celtic at least give it a go , minimal bragging rights but its still good to see us win. US tour the team looked far better than they did in the Sydney Cup & Japan tour....but Japan games was a great spectacle. ANYHOO.....MON THE HOOPS!
Alls good and well with idah basically forcing a move. However remember this moment when he wants away from celtic. I expect the same supporters to back him up when he manipulates a move away.
It's interesting to compare the situation with MOR to Adam Idah.
Celtic have (so far) came up short of Norwich's asking price
Atalanta & Southampton (so far) have came up short of Celtic's asking price
So the two situations are pretty similar. However MOR has (so far) behaved impeccably throughout the summer. He never refused to go on our pre-season tour or anything like that. He's not on his social media posing in another clubs jersey etc...
Idah's antics do not look good in comparison to Matt and to be honest it's a bit of a red flag for me, if this is how he's handling the situation at Norwich.
At the end of the day he's got a contract with Norwich and they pay his wages and until such times as Norwich accept a bid for him, he should knuckle down and get on with his job. If this is how he treats his current employer, who's to say he wont do similar with us?

An important aspect of any scouting system surely has to be what budget you're working with.
Real Madrid recently signed Kylian Mbappe but I seriously doubt they required a whole team of scouts & analysts to have a meeting and say - "Hey there's this lad at PSG, I think could do a job for us...." When you're Real Madrid (or Man City...) all you need is a list of the 10 best players in the world for whichever position you're looking to strengthen and there you go! Problem solved.
In fact do clubs like Madrid even bother with scouts?
On the opposite end of the scale would be the "Championship club" that PJD referred to. If you cannot pay half decent wages and offer a half decent league to play in... Then surely anyone you identify is going to be beyond your financial reach anyway? So it puzzles me why a club at that level would even bother going to all that trouble
But for me Celtic are one of those clubs in that middle ground of having the resources to pay good wages to good players that may have been overlooked, for whatever reason, by the big financial hitters. So why aren't we doing it?
We are exactly the sort of club that has the financial resources to employ a strong Data Analytics department to identify players that the elite level clubs have maybe overlooked. Brighton & Brentford have both done this to great effect in the EPL in recent years and have picked up some real bargains that the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea etc... have overlooked.
This is what Celtic should be aiming to do also.
But when the very harsh reality & truth is sadly ONLY that we play our domestic football in one of the very poorest quality of Leagues & that as a consequence, completely generates NO serious money of ANY kind & I do wish most would get real about this & start to comprehend just what an ever huge continual disadvantage & handicap this is for us when it comes to playing at the very highest level in Europe & the customary thumpings we get year after year & again this coming season too, so yes at the moment we have '' all this money in the bank just sitting there do nothing'' as so many of oor financial ''experts'' keep telling us, but paying ''good wages to good players'' is always difficult when these guys have choices & options.
Another point on the MOR vs Idah situations.
If Matt does leave us this month, he's got a full pre-season under his belt and (barring any last minute injuries) he'll have a competitive game under his belt come Sunday evening. He's in a perfect position to "Hit the ground running" at his new club if he does end up leaving us.
Has Idah been putting in the same work at Norwich this summer as MOR has with Celtic? Or (if we do sign him) will it take another 2-3 weeks for him to get "Match sharp" as they say.
The more I think this through, the more I am convinced that Idah has been VERY badly advised on this one.
According to Paul Brennan on CQN, Norwich are wanting £12 million for him. If that is true then the conversation is over for me. I don't care how good a loan spell he had or how much BR rates him..... We're not paying £12 million (or anything like it!) for Norwich City's 3rd choice striker.

Idah isn’t happening. I know that’s an absolutist statement, but Norwich only have to stonewall for three more weeks. And they seem more than happy to set wild valuations and disciplinary actions for the player. Bueno looks off the table. I wish the questions at the shareholders meeting (I forget what it’s actually called) weren’t filled with sycophancy and cowardice. Abysmal window and while confident enough domestically (actually maybe not, the other side seems perfectly happy to sign professional football players), Europe has been forfeited by the board. I predict panic stations in the winter when we are looking up at the other Glasgow side at the top of the table.
It’s pretty pathetic, but I think the only way Celtic will ever be allowed progress by Lawell and Nicholson is to go a year without trophies. The best thing that could maybe happen and salvage the window is to drop points this weekend and hope it lands with the Board. Or, alternatively, since the suits will keep their head in the sand regardless, no reason to wish for that.

Celtic board are responsible for playing around with idahs career and mental health,teams are going to end up treating us as pariahs in the market.
It’s arguable, but not unreasonable that the Idah situation will be viewed through this lens. Especially since it’s clear Norwich planned on giving him a chance and Celtic has no intention to pay up to Norwich’s evaluation.

Please lower your expectation or desire/ hope that Celtic will compete in Europe - the current squad tells you that we are short of quality at that level - these sides have pace/ athleticism and physique to compete at this level.
