  • My first fish on New Years morning on the Kiewa River. I fished a mix of dries and nymphs but the fish were up in the faster water which leant itself to mainly euro nymphing.

    Tom given the set up you’re fishing on a two nymph rig I’d be fascinated to know your casting techniques with ,I assume a 10 or 11ft rod .it appears to be a definitive cast rather than a lob
    Perhaps a dedicated casting vid ?!
    Most enjoyable and informative as usual
    Mike

    After the record rains over the past two days, the NE Victorian rivers will be raging for quite a while.

    What’s the line set up? Are you using 2 nymphs?

    Why don't you ever mention which system you're fishing? Most people don't want locations, but knowing what systems you fish, unless it's a smaller stream I would understand not mentioning it, would add value to these videos. Many will recognise these waters (including myself) and know they're well known, so it wouldn't hurt publishing it.

      Hey there. I actually mention them lots, look at my back catalogue. This is the Kiewa (the 3rd video I have done on here), but I often only mention the video location in the title if it provides extra context to the video. This one I could be on any tailwater in the country and the way I’d fish it would be the same. I hope that helps

      @@tomjarmanfishing3208 Thanks Tom, I've watched your videos for quite a long time now and must say I have often wondered where you were, but I'll be sure to pay more attention if you think I'm missing them! Tight lines. Cheers

      Problem might be that those treble hooked lure fishos head to those places and kill every fish they catch... they don't realise the damage done by trebles ...rips eyes, gills, tongues, mouths...

    • @user-mx7ef2og5v
      @user-mx7ef2og5v 7 місяців тому

      All the info is already listed... but don't tell lure fishos... they'll slaughter all of the fish... about time treble hooks were banned...

    would love to know where you fish - like to broaden my fishing locations / spend plenty on local bakeries/milkbars etc - why do you not say where you are - surely avid fly fishers like myself would spend money locally on morning coffee/ pie for brekkie! maybe late afternoon / dusk pub meal ? in the vicinity of where we fish?

      Absolutely, check one of the resources for this I have worked a lot on here flylife.com.au/fly-fishing/australia/victoria there are heaps of fisheries on here written up by me including this one which is the Kiewa. I hope this helps
