Just came across your channel and was shocked by the lack of subscribers! Awesome video quality, clear audio, and great content. I'm looking foward to the next update with this build, its making me want to get back to work on one of my T5's again, been too focused on the redblocks lately 😅
The VHT high heat header spray has proven to be massive bang for buck as well when it comes to coatings manifolds and turbine housings. I've done probably like 40 - 50 different manifolds with the VHT coating and holds up remarkably well.
beautiful build but I seriously don't understand the choice of the turbo. firstly the 3076 is a known mismatch with a small turbine for the compressor. it will make full boost very late, by 4500rpm on this engine, and the torque will drop like stone at high rpm because of the high backpressure. a g25-660 .72 will make full boost at ~3300 (could make 2bar at 3000 but that takes 2 seconds to build) and can do ~500 crank hp with WMI. and the g25 spools like a td04hl19t. very good for street from light to light and in the city but the torque drops at high rpm due to backpressure. then I swapped to g30-770 .82, full boost by 4k rpm, could do wheelspin in 3rd if I floored it at 120km/h in my s70 with quaife lsd and 225 tires. this can rev over 7000,good one. now I have g35-900 .82 and it pulls very strong from 4000-4500 and full boost around 5000(2.2bar) and goes all the way to 7700 rpm. I see you shimmed the block and have pistons, go for a good turbo, don't ruin your pleasure with this one. my 2cents.
@@arnoldp5355 Hey there, It’s a 3067, not a 76. It’s a great match for the engine; full boost in low-mid 3k range. Totally agree that the 3076 would be a bad choice for the car and has well documented inherent issues of its own. Thanks for watching!
It’s not the easiest swap, but there are some more recent products available that make it easier now. Engine mounts and plug & play wire harnesses are now available. Big learning curve as a first swap though.
@@opticlops18 I know there are some options to allow that, but I’m not super familiar because I wasn’t interested in it. I’m sure you’d have to have it coded or retuned to override things. At that point, I’d rather just have standalone with full control over everything.
that oil return to oil, without freefall to block will destroy your turbo prematurely. Rip to turbobandit youtube channel guy for teaching us this.
bro wake up i found youtubes best t5 channel
I felt that drill bit snap in my soul.
Preeeeach. Thought I was going to get so much done that day, and then bam-day ruined
Nice build! I'm also working on a T5 swap right now
Thanks! 940?
@@Drive.Revive.Tinker yes, 1998 945 :)
Thinking of doing the same project, excited to see how it turns out!

Good tip, thanks!

Much appreciated! The next video is in progress now-can’t wait to share it!
Greetings from Finland. Nice job !
Thanks for watching!
@@Drive.Revive.Tinker I am also doing a T6 engine swap, in my channel.
Going with a MaxxECU Race in our Flyin' Moose endurance car. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Nice! I’m excited to upgrade from Megasquirt. Should be fun to get that all set

Oh interesting. Any special prep you do? Aerosol can makes it even easier, but I haven’t had luck with the aerosol products I’ve tried
Great video.
Man those sheared off bolts were a doozy.
Yeah… that’s the unseen pain of car projects 70% of the time 🥲

@@Drive.Revive.Tinker sorry, my bad. my eyes tricked me lol.
@@arnoldp5355 no worries, you’re not the first to read it as 3076! 3067 isn’t very common
ahh just what I need after a really rough and shocking day... a volvo video. Keep up the good work.

i would love a t5 swapped 240.. but sadly dont have the knowledge of swapping it..

@@Drive.Revive.Tinker on the electronics side, wouldnt u be able to swap all t5 harnass, fcu etc to the 240?

What engine mounts did you use to put the t5 in
They are one-off brackets with Volvo 240 passenger side engine mounts.
Hi, what trottle body are u using, and it fit whitout modification? Im doing the same project but from italy and it's not easy(there is no volvo here)
I’m using the stock throttle body from an S60R. Here’s the one: www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-throttle-body-c70-s60-s80-v70-xc90-xc70-0280750131

I have the next few filmed-just need to finish editing!
