    The Fryette Power Station® - a new amplifier attenuator and re-amplification solution, offering players intuitive and precise control over amplifier volume, distortion behavior and a wide range of highly refined tonal qualities previously unavailable from any single attenuating or re-amping product.
    Built on decades of experience producing the finest all-tube power amps available, the Power Station is a practical and highly functional tool that solves problems frequently encountered in live playing and recording environments. It beautifully accentuates the inherent qualities of any amplifier and allows your amplifier to breathe and dynamically respond to your playing technique the way a great guitar amp should. The Power Station is designed to be transparent, user friendly, reliable and ultra-responsive to a wide array of guitar amplifier and speaker types. It also integrates seamlessly with any combination of internal and external speaker configurations.
    The Power Station also excels as a power booster, something that no other attenuator can do. Just as you would connect a big amp to reduce output volume, the Power Station can also be used to boost the output of a small amplifier. Imagine taking your mini-amp or small vintage combo to a gig and having enough power to be heard without sacrificing feel and tonal quality. It is not only possible, but easy and fun!
    Finally, your Power Station functions as a versatile silent reactive load for direct recording by simply connecting the Balanced or Unbalanced Line out to your recording interface.

    I just got my PS-100 last week and its a real game changer. It sounds so much better and operates way better than my Captor X. I'm using to attenuate my amps, run modelers into, running synergy into.. everything. It's a must have imo.
    I learned that running the synergy into a 100 watt amp's fx return, turning it way up, and then bringing it back down with the PS-100 finally makes some of the modules have that little something that is missing.

    That's a really nice clean tone, I didn't realize the Deliverance could sound so good clean. Idk why I'm surprised, I have a Pittbull 50CL and it sounds great clean.

    The segment starting at 2:37 sounds as if PS-2 has a noticeably higher noise floor compared to PS-100. Is that due to the way the recording was done or a real difference between the two models?

    Is there a way for modules "like Synergy" to use the self-attenuation feature of the PS-100 to get great distortion at a low volume while also using the PS-100 as a power amp?

    • @FryetteAmps
      @FryetteAmps  Рік тому +2

      Yes. Watch the YT self attenuation video and use your Syn as the preamp. Works great that way.

    • @LabyrinthMole
      @LabyrinthMole Рік тому +1

      @FryetteAmps I meant to ask if it would work with a 2x12 cabinet at the other end. The video you're referring to doesn't show that.

    • @FryetteAmps
      @FryetteAmps  Рік тому +4

      @@LabyrinthMole Yes. You are basically running to "cabs" in parallel at that point - the real cab and the internal load. Just set the output impedance to account for that, i.e., internal load at 8 ohms, + external load at 8 ohms = 4 ohms on speaker out impedance switch.

    What is the difference between the PS2 and the PS2A though? Is it only the l8ne out level replacing the LF button and what are the different applications which one would prefer one over the other? Thanks!

    • @FryetteAmps
      @FryetteAmps  6 місяців тому +1

      The 2A replaced the 2. Besides the changes you noted, it adds a transformer isolated XLR Balanced Line Out.

      @@FryetteAmps Thank you very much! I was wondering because some shops in Europe seem to be offering both devices as new beside one another (plus the ps-100). Probably just stock leftovers of the PS2. I was offered a used PS2 in good condition, which actually read "PS2" on the front panel but "PS-2A" on the back and it has the line out knob that the PS-2a has. May it be, that is was during the switch of the two products, that Freyette used, I don't now, "left over" front panels on new devices??

    • @FryetteAmps
      @FryetteAmps  6 місяців тому +1

    They are both the same in regard to sonic behavior. Especially when it comes to the constant hum that is in the signal chain when either of the units is engaged. These are by no means noise free units.

    • @d77sauce

      Is it your preamp that’s causing the hum? Or is it the fan ?

    • @Michael-bm8hi
      @Michael-bm8hi Рік тому

      @@d77sauce It is by design the fan and it is a hum from the transformer. Could be that the Fryette didn’t adjust the units properly for the 50Hz in Europe. Or Fryette just put too much, too close into the enclosure. My studio in general is hum free - no ground loops or similar.

    Hi, I have a Magnatone Stereo Twilighter amp which requires 2 separate attenuators if you want to attenuate. If I get the two-channel PS-100, will I be able to get by with a single PS-100 unit??? Thanks

    • @FryetteAmps
      @FryetteAmps  10 місяців тому

      Sorry, you would need one for each channel, and we wouldn't recommend the PS-100 for that. The PS-2 would be the recommended option.
