Hopper for what you’re doing and so little metal removal I’m thinking carbide inserts aren’t the way for you. Carbide inserts never have a sharp corner and have to have tool pressure to cut. If you sharpen some high speed tool bits to the shape you need they’ll cut much better at a slower rpm and more accurate. It’s old school but works great. After 40+ years I know
exactly i tell people all the time if you are in a hurry its not the hobby for them...
Drill a counter sink in the center of block and just use a Val bearing for your contact surface.
