Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin is my favorite ride at Disneyland! But I will always prefer the original version with Jessica Rabbit in her traditional dress! "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way" - Jessica Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit
I'm surprised the ride stayed the same as it was before the refurb. If I refurbished this ride, I would fix some of the effects, as well as add in a few new sound effects too.
i once drew my own disney park called disneyland florida which had toontown, which has a similar layout as tokyo disneyland's toontown, with the roger rabbit ride on the left and the rollercoaster on the far right. about this park's roger rabbit's car toon spin, called "the adventures of roger rabbit", there is a button in the car you can press to trigger an effect when it lights up
I was looking forward to see how they would tweak the storyline to have Jessica be a detective, but I’m pretty disappointed with the end result. It’s the exact same ride except they quite literally just slapped a detective outfit over the Jessica figures (which looks more like it’s paying homage to Dick Tracy with the black light).
Yeah, there really wasn't any change besides slapping a new look on her. Hell, the first time we see her in the ride no longer makes sense and she just now feels out of place. I can understand removing her from the trunk and replacing her with a barrel of dip, but come on, her just standing there with her hand out feels less like a contribution to the scene and more like she's just there to receive a participation trophy.
The change with Jessica just doesn't work at all. Like someone else said, the first one looks weird with how she's posed, almost like she's the one trying to get Roger killed. Good job Imagineers... This also makes her breaking free and getting revenge on the Weasels feel less cathartic, now she's just smacking them with a mallet. Of course, her body would be a problem for someone, but I can bet you that they would have left a fat character alone. Gives off the feeling that it's bad to body shame a fat person, but someone who is sexualized with that being the point in the first place? Yeah, go ahead and body shame that body type. Hypocrites... I also expected some new projections and effects, but other than Jessica Rabbit, no changes... Like, the only reason they shut down the ride was to change Jessica, but leave everything else the same. Can you say virtue signaling? If you're going to shut the ride down like that, at least make some upgrades, like a proper cartoony projection effect in the power room at the least! Well, we can at least take solace in knowing that change will eventually come, and hopefully for the better next time around...
The modesty police struck again, and tampered with a character who could clearly handle herself (both in the film and the ride) in dangerous situations. Honestly, who was going on the ride and staring at a stiff ANIMATRONIC? Nobody. Yet they still forced Disney to change her clothes. What are they going to do next? Go back and draw OVER Gary K. Wolf’s original design in the film? This whole thing is ridiculous.
I'm disgusted that this change was brought in the same breath that changed the auction scene in Pirate's. I can 100% get behind changing the scene where they're literally selling off women as property, but covering up who's supposed to be an insanely pro-feminist character kills any significance to her personal rights and is antithetical to Jessica Rabbit as a whole. Her whole theme is that she's overly-sexualized and that she can remain a strong, independent woman apart from the way she presents herself/is presented. Women deserve to be treated like women is her entire thing. This is a conservative change, not some "woke mob" crap I keep reading in the comments from out of touch boomers. "We're Disney, our women having bodies is so inappropriate for our family friendly park." is more so the route I think they took. And that's incredibly fucking sad. Their own Cast Members get to show off more skin than her. This is genuinely bad from every side you want to look at it, and is completely unnecessary. There genuinely wasn't any discussion before they brought attention to this, why'd they go and create a problem when there wasn't one at all??? Justice for Jessica!
I was there 25 or so years ago when the Zuckers had their tragic accident. I was the very next person on the line. This ride for the longest time has been the reason I don't return to Disneyland. And now all the woke bullshit with Jessica Rabbit in the trenchcoat is downright insulting. Thanks, Disney, for messing things up so massively for me.
Love this ride and so glad it’s still open. Hopefully one day they’ll bring back Jessica’s original outfit, she looked more fabulous before
Let Jessica Rabbit be a Girlboss she slayed in the red dress.
Legit bc I was like.. " Why tf is she in a rain coat???? "
Fr like why’d they change it who got offended now
The Woke Mobb cancel culture came after Jessica Rabbit. Embarrassing
In angered that they kept detective Jessica rabbit. Stupid offended woke mob
She's a girlboss either way, she can slay in anything tbh.

Me too I went on this ride when I first came back to Disney land in 2007.
Literally the hottest and favorite line I swear
@@yutuberebelshe’s a cartoon, calm down.
They have to change her back! Down with Reimagine Tomorrow!
@@ryanb4940 She is the SEXIEST WOMAN I have ever seen
The way Jessica is now posed, she honestly looks like she's *IN CHARGE* of the Weasels, looming over them and barking orders to kill Roger.
Im glad that roger rabbits cartoon spin Didn't go anywhere now we 2 rides at mickey's toontown
3 rides.
Why’s Jessica dress up like the mask.
They had refurbished the ride before the toontown was closed during the remodeling
because people are sensitive and dislike how revealing jessica's dress was (probably)
@@kipdips I wish they could’ve done a sequel, but wouldn’t be better of her new outfit would be red that way it f i her previous one.

BINGO. More PC nonsense.
They fixed the dip spray effect at the end that Roger is trying to save you from!!
Not for long.
I'm surprised the ride stayed the same as it was before the refurb. If I refurbished this ride, I would fix some of the effects, as well as add in a few new sound effects too.
They actually fixed the dip spray effect at the end before roger saves you
Agreed. I wish the following Dip effect at the beginning came back. But hey, they didn't close the ride, and at this point, that's all I can ask for.

The music in the power house is still pretty quiet.
my park's toontown also has mickey & minnie's runaway railway and it is fairly close to the adventures of roger rabbit

im disappointed they didn't upgrade the ride to be like snow white's enchanted wish
They literally just took away her right to express herself, and that is also without her consent 😶
They so did
well she was already changed before Toon Town was closed
If Jessica really did become a detective, she'd be a sultry one. She would never cover herself up like this.
Welcome Back Roger Rabbit 🐰
Like all the other comments mentioned, why with the big yellow trench coat for Jessica. Let her wear the classic sparkly red sexy dress. Censorship. 🙄

Its been so long since ive seen the movie the ride doesn't make sense anymore. Going next week and will ride again to refresh.
disney mess up, the raincoat just make her like she is going to flash us. The red dress was the boss, Disney should of kept that
I still think the weasels would look like there movie versions.
I was hoping they would add some projections or something. With the rest of Toontown getting a full refurb, it's weird that this ride stayed the same.
They did fix the broken dip spray effect at the end before roger saves you
But al least it Didn't go anywhere
They fixed the Roger animatronic at the end recently. He moves fluently again.
@@aaronsarchive82 His smooth movement really stood out to me. Now I know why.
Anything new on the ride?!
They fixed the dip spray gun before roger saves you with the portable hole. It now sprays dip at something else before pointing at you
bruh why they have to ruin Jessica 💀

Finally someone that doesn't just say "DISNEY WOKE DISNEY WOKE USAIDBADID"
Why does Jessica Rabbit look like Carmen San Diego? Disney goes woke again…

Did they just covered up Jessica Rabbit? The Wokeness is real.
They did that like 2 years ago it’s really weird censorship
Yep! 💯
@@hatbox_ghost981 exactly 😒
they already had Jessica like that before closing Toontown just in case somebody forgot
Plus this censorship isn’t even that bad 😒🫤
First they came for the redhead. Now Jessica Rabbit. Soon Tinkerbell will be wearing pants because her dress is too short.
oh gosh if they do that to good ol tinker bell that would suck
