My laptop had overheating issues in sleep mode. I would have my laptop on my lap in bed and after I was done I would close it then slide it to and part of the bed, then go to sleep or leave, where it would be charging or not. It was fine at first it would just cool down and charge if I had it plugged in. But then one day I woke up and it was hot. So I let it cool. It was completely dead. Then I brushed it of as the laptop was ok. Then, it happened again. Then, I was like "Ok." It kept happening for while and I didn't think it was ok anymore so I decided to just shut it down everytime which was very annoying. Sometimes times I would forget and it would heat straight back up. I dealt with it for months, though I didn't use it to much. I only play games but when I got bored of them I wouldn't touch it for a while as I use my school issued laptop for work I need to do. I don't know why I didn't think about searching it up just a few days agoat first, but I did and the answer was there. There was a glitch that made it do this. When you close the lid the the laptop would sense it and and put itself to sleep, but the glitch was that the laptop would fail to sleep and wake up as a result. The laptop will not check if the lid is closed again so it stays awake and the CPU continues carrying out tasks which causes heat. Though, I not sure if the fan is operational during this time. If it got too hot the motherboard would shut it down but I don't think it did considering the whole battery died which leads me to believe the fans were operational. To fix the glitch I had to put it in hibernation mode rather than sleep mode.

Hello brother I recently bought a new laptop lenovo ideapad 5 15alc05 ryzen 7 5700u. My laptop is heating...... But i don't know if it's normal or really problem.
It could be so many things causing this. Do you elevate your laptops back end while it's placed on the desk? Also what's the frequency of the CPU at idle?

For gaming, you have to create another power-plan. Low and very low will increase lag in Game. High will overheat. If you want to, I can tell you how to create the Game power-plan.
@@vtrvstedlina2889 Create a new plan -> Balanced -> name it "game" and click next -> click create -> click on Change Plan Setting (like I did in the video at 1:40) and follow exactly what I did, but instead of 55 like I entered, enter 98 (for gaming) and click Ok. Annoyingly, lots of us with a employer given work laptop go into the power options and only "balanced" is in there. All I can do is go to the battery widget in the taskbar and slide the battery slider as far left as it goes to "better battery"... it's better than nothing but I don't think it drops the cpu base freq. The other thing that annoys me in windows that linux does better is you can't even easily see harmless information like cpu and memory stats without going into Admin rights mode. Windows would be better off to have a tool to simply see cpu% and memory and other stats in a readonly mode so ordinary users can just see what app is using max cpu . If I want to kill off some processes, then I'd have the option to go into admin rights mode for that. It happens that I do have admin rights but sometimes by the time I go through getting to admin mode and get the task manager going the process has gone away and it's behaving again. Linux is so easy to see process info in that I can catch misbehaving things much easier. In linux I can easily see cpu% and memory in many ways and being admin doesn't even enter into it. Root cause for me was the unusually high clock speed while doing nothing. Fixing that fixed it. Root cause for you might be something different. Cheers!

@@AdarshJon yea, but it reaches 64 at idle, it may be far from overheating. But that is not a normal range for a laptop on idle even a desktops normal range is around 35-40. Whereas a laptops is 45-50...60 is quite questionable.
@@AdarshJon that's pretty bad, I have an i5 11260h rn I'm getting lower 50s to mid 40s at idle, all because of a guide i found. I can send you a guide on how to lower temps. I used that and it made a huge difference. I think it would also be video worthy too. 👀 It consists of a lot of disabling in the settings, but it works amazingly. I now get like no more than 67 celsius while gaming. Mostly hovering at about 62. So I guess everything is fixed, I'm still gonna reapply paste on my cpu and gpu. I'll probably get like high 30s after that. I've had the laptop for 8 months, so I'm assuming they used bad thermal paste or they didn't apply it right. There is also another method like MSI afterburner frequency curve for your gpu, and an application called throttlestop for your cpu where you can basically set the number limits to your clockspeed ghz as you please kind of like in the video but its more convenient, I set mine to 3.0 ghz because most games aren't gonna reach 4.5 like companies advertise.

Go to the power manegement tab again and there will be the extra option. If it still does not work feel free to ask!
not the best way to solve the problem for a gamer ,my experience:i decrese it for only 1% which is 99%, overheating is fix but,ur cpu will stop the intel turbo tech(intel cpu),for example,my cpu max turbo ghz is 4.0,if u lower to 99% it will become 2.4ghz,which is without intel turbo technology,in gaming fps will drop nearly 5-20fps and the game is not stable with a lot of shutter lag.If ur are not a gamer this is a very good way u can do with.
Your computer will get the hottest while you play games, there's nothing you can do about it. But if you reduce the load on the GPU and CPU, it could get less hot.
This would be a WHOLE lot more useful as a plain document, where I could actually see what is being changed, rather than some video flipping through settings before you can see them.
Here's s quick solution.... Please check if your minimum processing power is less than 10% or not... If it's higher than 10% then you must change the values...if it's already below 10% then you must do the steps in the video it will definitely work
I used to have XTU installed to do the same instead of Throttlestop. Both work great. 😄 But this is by far the simplest fix and uses no additional software.

@@Am94514 95 is really hot but new laptops are built to handle that. 90 or below while gaming in ideal. Maybe limit the fps and decrease the graphics just a little bit, that will do the trick. Bro if i change processor maximum 75 any prblm or not my laptop.?
No problem, man. It will just become even slower, that's all.
my laptop is 8 months old and my cpu idles at 54-60 celsius
That's not over heating.
@@AdarshJon yea, but it reaches 64 at idle, it may be far from overheating. But that is not a normal range for a laptop on idle even a desktops normal range is around 35-40. Whereas a laptops is 45-50...60 is quite questionable.
My idle was 80-85. What CPU do you have? Try cleaning fans and re applying thermal paste.
@@AdarshJon that's pretty bad, I have an i5 11260h rn I'm getting lower 50s to mid 40s at idle, all because of a guide i found. I can send you a guide on how to lower temps. I used that and it made a huge difference. I think it would also be video worthy too. 👀
It consists of a lot of disabling in the settings, but it works amazingly.
@@eugeoyes513my only problem is battery temperature of my laptop before was 28c and now 34c
Worked like a charm. Thanks a lot!
Great to hear!
I don't have processer power management option
At first i hadnt to but i can tell u how to fix it if you want
@@ronjans9914 okay, can you help
@@professionalenjoyer7626 Ok, just to be sure that you face the same problem as i had, do you also have only 4 options in the advanced power options?
@@ronjans9914 yes, I have: Desktop background settings, Sleep, Display, and Battery.
@@professionalenjoyer7626 Allright thats exactly what i had too. So i dont know if you are familiar with the register but i will explain it as clear as possible and if you still have questions, feel free to ask them.
Step 1. Hold windows key and press "r".
Step 2. Type "regedit" in the search bar en hit enter.
Step 3. Follow this path Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00
Step 4. When you are in the file go to the right where there is FriendlyName and Description (and maybe one more).
Step 5. On this side click the right mouse button and click "new"
Step 6. Click on DWORD(32bit)
Step 7. The new one will be added to the list. Double click on it and change the name of the value to "Attributes" and change the value itself to "2".
Step 8. Then you can just click on the cross in the right upper corner and you maybe need to safe the changes but then a window will pop up and its really simple.
Step 9. Go to the power manegement tab again and there will be the extra option.
If it still does not work feel free to ask!
Bro if i change limit processor speed what about problms and good.. ? Pls rebly me
you can change, no problem. Try different numbers and see what works for you.
@@AdarshJon bro if i change just 50% anf can i work high perfamnce works like a Android studio video edite
@@fahathamm3965 you can.. but the performance will drop a lot. Try it and see.
thx it went down from 2.49ghz to 1.19ghz
Those options are hidden from my power setting how do I reveal them?
You using Intel?
Yes Intel not Ryzen
@@shadowaussien7743hey did you find a solution?...zame prob here pls help 😢
Thanks brother,I was facing this issue from 2-3 days,at first I thought it was because of some malware,I scanned but it didn't help.
Anytime!
not the best way to solve the problem for a gamer ,my experience:i decrese it for only 1% which is 99%, overheating is fix but,ur cpu will stop the intel turbo tech(intel cpu),for example,my cpu max turbo ghz is 4.0,if u lower to 99% it will become 2.4ghz,which is without intel turbo technology,in gaming fps will drop nearly 5-20fps and the game is not stable with a lot of shutter lag.If ur are not a gamer this is a very good way u can do with.
I agree. Not the best solution for gaming. This is for the heating that happens when you watch a movie lol!
Bro I want to play games and also want cool temperature
Your computer will get the hottest while you play games, there's nothing you can do about it.
But if you reduce the load on the GPU and CPU, it could get less hot.
Life saver
Glad I can help!
This would be a WHOLE lot more useful as a plain document, where I could actually see what is being changed, rather than some video flipping through settings before you can see them.
Maybe pause the video or just rewind 🤯
Here's s quick solution.... Please check if your minimum processing power is less than 10% or not... If it's higher than 10% then you must change the values...if it's already below 10% then you must do the steps in the video it will definitely work
simple and effective, i like it 🔥🔥
Emphasis on the first adjective 😋
Thanks!
Thank you! That made a huge difference!
Great to hear!
My laptop is running at 1:39 but its hot as hell (So i dont think this works )
I use throttlestop.🤔 Works like a charm.
I used to have XTU installed to do the same instead of Throttlestop. Both work great. 😄
But this is by far the simplest fix and uses no additional software.
Love you bro. you are just amazing
Thank you so much!
Bro decreased -200fps and made the system run slower than an purpose
I am facing 3 issues at the same time on windows 10 (dell laptop)
Overheating
Battery discharge fast
Over speed of fan
.... did you try doing this?
these 3 issues have one reason: large power draw from the CPU.
It worked. Thank you so much
You fucking beautiful human being. God damn some new windows update kept running PC at full clock and kept getting hot while I was just chilling on notepad 🤣 I guess it updated the battery profiles again. Sigh. Love you man thank you!!! 🔥
Ahh lol so happy to have helped you! Could you check out my other videos on my channel to help me out too? 😇
Thank you bro this helped me
Always a pleasure!
thanks yoi gained a new subscriber bro appreciate that
Fun fact : just buy a average placeable fan and put it in your PC / Laptop it's not a joke fr I tried it and I can now play Minecraft if it worked do this:

Any suggestions?
thanks now my pc wont start fire in the key words.
Haha glad I could help!
thanks my cpu from 2.30 ghz to 0.98 ghz
Thanks man it worked 💯
Thanks bro you are awesome!
happy to help!
My clock speed is more than 4 without doing anything 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah that will overheat the laptop. Just use this method.
@@AdarshJon It worked thanks 👍🏼 is it ok if the CPU temp while gaming 95c used balance performance ?
@@Am94514 95 is really hot but new laptops are built to handle that. 90 or below while gaming in ideal. Maybe limit the fps and decrease the graphics just a little bit, that will do the trick.
I always limit the fps. So if I'm being 52-58, I limit to 50 so it's constant and smooth, plus the computer cools down too.
@@AdarshJon I got it thanks bro
dude thanks! my average temperature is 60° - 80° and now after following your tutorial it's 49°-52°
Glad it helped!
Thank You bro ur video saved me
