I remember watching this, so desperately keen, to have another of my favourite 1960`s comic book characters brought to life. It is easy to criticise now, though, even at the time, we could see the faults, this attempt & others finally led to the successes we have had since. I am personally pleased for Stan Lee, as he gave us some amazing creations to exercise our imaginations. I love to watch for his cameos now. :)

Are you kidding? They actually put a guy in a Spider-Man costume high up outside a building and filmed him! That's way more impressive than any technology nowadays!

Lol, you're forgetting the hairstyles of the 70's. That guy was very young. Not even close to 35.

Not too embarrassed to admit it, but my brothers and I would lose our shit when this would come on television. Was it the best representation of Spidey? Probably not. But you just didn't see a live action superhero show like this "back in the day". You had "Superman: The Movie", Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman, and the old Adam West Batman from the 60s. That's it! To see Marvel characters like "The Amazing Spider-man" or "The Incredbile Hulk" on prime time, major network television, with real actors acting seriously...it was UNHEARD of. There were screams of joy in our living room when this first aired.

fantastic 70's soundtrack. i remember watching this on tv, only went for a few episodes. it has nothng on the sam raimi movies of the last few years in terms of cgi effects and authenticity to the comics but it has a certain lo-fi charm and brings back some great memories.

It has plenty on the Sam Raimi movies. There is no CGI here. Everything on screen was actually put in front of a camera and filmed, including the spider webs and wall-crawling.
