    The EliteBook 1050 G1 8th Gen i7 Hexa Core blows away the 7th Gen and U class CPU's. For example, exporting a 1080P video that would normally take approx. 20 mins to render in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019, now takes just over 2 minutes. Wow! - YL

    HP keyboard and layout is just gorgeous! I love it and prefer to all other layouts. For example, Lenovo's laptop has the horrible layout (from developer point of view)

      exactly! I need dedicated home/end and page up/down buttons. I hate laptops with numeric block, because the always put the touchpad soooo left on the body. The only thing I miss on HP keyboard is extra spacing between F4/F5 and F8/F9 keys.

    Excellent review! Just about the best way a complete review should be delivered. And in a way, you made me fall in love with this machine at a time I'm considering replacing my ageing, eight years old HP Elitebook 8460p.

    Great video, exacrly what i was looking for. I have a single question: is it still going strong after 10 months? Because a lot of laptops suffer of e. g. long boot times after that period of time..

    Is it possible to open with one hand like MacBook ?

    As I see it this one could replace my 2011 Core i7 MacBook Pro with 16GB memory. But I'll wait for tests on durability and maybe an option for a better screen. The keyboard and trackpad are OK with me but I have to switch from MacOS to Windows...

      The 1050 G1 is a beautiful piece of kit. Sad to see it go back to HP. Agree with the screen I would sacrifice some battery life for a quad or 4K panel. The i7 CPU, 32GB, 1TB M.2 and Nvidia GPU definitely assists in making it run buttery smooth with things like Premiere Pro and Photoshop. - YL

      @@Dovecomputers Thank you for another excellent review. I asked you on another video: "Would a i5-8300H outperform a i7-8750H ?" How would they differ? Thanks

    • @Dovecomputers
      @Dovecomputers  6 років тому

      @@BarbarraBay Thanks. i5-8300H is a quad core vs the hexacore i7-8750H which in benchmarks is the superior CPU of the two. Single core apps fairly equal. With Multi-core applications, the i7-8750H powers ahead. Having said that you could argue the i5-8300H is better value overall. - YL

    They need to make this smaller, closer to XPS 15 dimensions. Also make the arrows like how Lenovo does, huge laptop but cramped arrows, come on. Reduce the weight to 4 lbs.
    Also, that's a full size SD card reader. Not a micro SD card reader.
