#7-- Study groups. Big study groups tend to devolve into chat and bitch sessions. Someone in the group will always need their hand patted or their ego stroked. Someone will always be lagging behind or failing to pull his weight. You're better off in a group of no more than 3 people total, all of whom are laser-focused and on their game.

I’m a 1L one week away from finals. Bama Law ftw!
I wasted so much time briefing cases until I wised up a couple weeks ago.

I managed my first semester well, my professors don't know me from class but i bet they now do because i crushed my finals! And you are spot about students trying to impress, i found out that they annoy the professors most of the time. Thanks again by the way!

The more I listen to tips like this, the more confused I get as to why there is legal discrimination towards CA graduates of online law schools. I'm starting Concord Law school because of my life circumstances, the lower cost of the school, and because the price will allow me to get into public defense work without starving to death. As a non traditional student that attained the last credits of undergrad work online, I can vouch that despite the convenience of online work, the online route is harder because there's much more writing and exams involved. Plus, at this stage in my life, the facade of prestige and impressing others is not my cup of tea. Online law school appears to cut down on some of the major time drains discussed in these tips. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

In grad school, I lived near the law school/law library, so I tried going there to study with intensity. It didn't work because law students are way too social and constantly inviting me out drinking. I learned I had to go to the med school library to study with intensity. The med students would shoot your a dirty look if you sneezed.

You won't talk up your grade in office hours, but it can still be useful later on if you develop relationships with some of your professors.

Aside from briefing, I agree. Briefing allows me to extract rules and reasoning better. I have found a way to write them more efficiently and effectively. However, I am down to briefing for only two classes and notating for the other three.

My contracts professor would randomly pick up case briefs for a random case and we never knew which or win and 10 percent of our grade was based on those 3 briefs we had to have. So, we had to brief every one and I hated that.

I object. Metaphysics is all about not knowing the right answer. Heisenberg's uncertainty principle makes it clear that there are multiple possible outcomes for a situation and the more you know about one facet like location the less you know about another like speed.
