The Datsun 1600 is arguably one of the best cars suited to rally driving ever produced
Absolutely amazing stuff!
It is going so much better than the last Alpine which seems a lifetime away! It honks and I never had any doubts you could get a top 3 position when it was honking! It looks easy to drive. The corner transitions look good.
Thanks Peter. Yes at the Alpine we had loads of issues so really focus on getting to the finish line without big damage.
Now the car is a completely different beast and loads of fun.

So much amazing stuff in this vid; the prep; service truck; new livery; footage and editing. What blew me away the most was the car control. Even in the tightest, roughest spots, you and Kate kept it super tidy. I was trying to imagine myself on those roads in my own 1600. Honestly, it melted my brain. Congrats on the win. Looking forward to more #datzilla action in 2022!
P.s. When I say you putting the sticker on the with your credit car, I wondered how much it winces every time it sees the car! LOL

@@brendorally it's a bit much for a 1600 here in the U.S will probably have to by a used rally one and go from there

I wish I had not sold the one (Datto 1600) I had.
Still got a few parts like L series 2 liter engine and a couple of 5 speed boxes as well a 200B independent rear end just in case I can ever afford one again. I was more alive driving my P510 than any other car I have owned since! Love them to this day, John, Australia.
That’s awesome you still have plenty of parts. Maybe get a shell soon before they get to out of control.
Buy a stanza. They're crazy good value ATM.
@@slowlearner984 Thanks for the reply, not my cup of tea though. The Bloke I bought mine from did do that and he was content with it but I like the independent rear of the 1600;.
