I’m trying my friend I’m in Florida until the sixth and then I can get back into making a lot more videos a lot more often thank you so much for enjoying and for watching in the meantime my friend
That was such a great day ! Really enjoyed the knowledge and kindness you Shared .the guys with the machine had the best tea ever . Would love to say I will be heading to Tucson . But who know for this year . No matter what loving the vids .thanks Dave your a bright light on gloomy days
😭Thank you so much for your kindness my friend I really appreciate it and I was a huge pleasure to meet you I don’t know if this years Tucson gem and mineral show would be totally worth it for a lot of folks coming to shop from overseas because the shows are going to be so much smaller for instance only 50 vendors are going to be showing at Kino where I vend and Other shows are going to have even less vendors and Kino I hope everything is doing well in the UK my friend I was thinking about you the last couple weeks I’ve been meaning to reach out to talk to you but I’ve been in Florida visiting my mother who has been under the weather anyway I will make sure to call you sometime soon 😄 love you my brother
Hiya Dave, daamm but your fast! Wow I'm impressed, it didn't take you more than 5 or 6 minutes. YOU ARE A MASTER. Wow dude that was so cool, I bought a flat lap and I have soft and hard wheels, and I'm loving it. Sure beats using a Dremel, but fire agates you have a use a dremel, so it's all good. I like cabbing fossils, like fossilized coral. Sometimes it has limb cast beautiful stuff, and it's all self collected. O and Petrified wood too. This is a awesome video dude. I really enjoyed watching you make a cab in no time. I hope you have a awesome blessed day. Cya!
Thanks so much for watching my friend :) I got a bit quick at cabbing since time is money in the lapidary world and I almost never keep anything for myself 😭 the few pieces that I do keep for myself I take a lot longer and enjoy the cutting process a bit more
@@lapidarydave I can understand that lol as I'm practicing getting better I've been giving a lot of them away too, it's kinda hard not too when people see your pieces and gush about them. :)
This reminds me of the older Diamond Pacific trays with the aluminum and basic shape. Do they have a waste water removal setup or just dump when the tray fills up? I ended up drilling holes and tilting my trays to drain out which helps out.
Thank you so much for watching my friend I really appreciate it I promise to start making a lot more videos a lot more often as soon as I get back to New Mexico around the sixth
That’s a tough question my friend when it comes to these two machines both Of the set of wheels are generic and not better than one of the other long story sure if you had to remove price from the equation I would say cab king is a better buy because they are in America assuming you were in America they will be a lot easier to get your machine serviced if you ever need to
@@lapidarydave I’m literally on CabKing’s webpage now. I’m new, inexperienced, and I think I’ll just go with the 6” and if I stick with it and enjoy it then maybe I’ll upgrade to the 8”. I’ve looked at various options for cabbing. But CabKing seems to have a great footprint in the US, will work with my power supply, as I’m from the Ohio. It just feels hard to make the choice. I’m will to pay the extra 1000 is the 8 inch wheel and machine are a clearly better choice. Do you have any opinions on the 6 vs 8”? Or do you think my approach to go with the 6 inch is better for a newbie?
@@aaronschaekel8848 So when it comes to 6 inches versus 8 inches I always suggest the 8 inch version I have experienced that I can cut much larger pieces on the 8 inch machine that I can with the 6 inch machine since there’s more wheel the wheels last longer everybody I know who had to choose between the 6 inch or 8 inch always wish they bought the 8 inch after they got the 6 inch I think you’ll be very happy with it
@@lapidarydave ok, decision make. Wow, what a hard fought process to just buy a cabbing machine! If it doesn’t work out I’ll likely blame this “Lapidary Guy” on UA-cam, if it does work out I’ll probably act like I knew what I was doing. Lol. All joking aside, thanks for answering all my questions, you have in the past as well, I greatly appreciate it and hope your community helps promote your channel. May your cabbing be blessed, your opals never crank, and your stones reflect a deeper beauty. Now I’m off on my own cabbing journey. Until next time.
wow that was a fast cab`! I have an old Hilquist with expanable wheels and silicon carbide, those machines are a great price,I wonder how it would work for doing faces on rocks? Thats my thing especially since I had a bone removed from each hand, and what happens if something breaks on the machine?I'm not sure if the 6" wheel would do on faces? Great shows and happy Birthday!!
Yeah I don’t know if these machines are the best tool to face rocks especially larger ones these are cool machines but believe it or not my friends who are making their entire living off of lapidary do not use six wheel machines like these they prefer older vintage two wheel arbor machines with expandable belts much like you use
Would you say this would use more electricity or less than the ezcab? And do you prefer it over the ezcab? They just said they would send me one with discounted shipping. Because they're not going to be at the Tucson show find really thinking about buying it. But I'm not sure if I like liked it for the ezcab better.
I think they are pretty evenly matched I would say go with whoever can sell you the machine in a more fordable price and if you don’t mind me asking if you end up going with Jules and tools let them know lapidary Dave sent you
Hope Christmas waste merry one mate! I'm so happy you did this video, I found jewelsntools online a while back but couldn't find any one using them online. They have many machines and most are direct drive like this? What's your opinion on or preference between direct drive and belt driven? Cheers dave
Hey there my friend I totally know what you mean by not seeing any of these machines online they do have a UA-cam channel now but I don’t think that has many followers and you’re not really talking about the machine very much they’re kind of simple videos this company does have good prices with the shipping is a little crazy but I know one could just ask them to bring it to the states when they come to Tucson or Denver to save money on shipping so for me I can’t tell any difference between direct drive and belt powered machines when I use them brand new I have had direct drive motor is fail on me in the past and so I’ve never had a pull the motor fell on me I have replaced many on vintage machines which is some thing I think is awesome and I love I also find pulley motors on the side of the street and have been collecting them for many years now
Thanks. Dave I live in Switzerland. I puy already. Hard Wheels /soft wheels from des company. And I like dem. Only one time. Issue white de 600 soft wheel But der give me Replacement for it ,at deren cost 👍 thanks again. Harry
In that case since you were in Switzerland I would suggest this machine because it will be cheaper at the same quality than buying a different machine from America
I like it a lot but the shipping cost a lot if you live in the United States if you live in the USA it might be more affordable to buy other machines but if you do live In Europe India or almost anywhere across the ocean I would say it is a great deal
