Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Just picked up a 1997 Ford 1720 that has been sitting for 4 years. Starter Bendix is not working, so I couldn't get it fired but for $1500 I figured I'd take a chance to try and get it fired up. Your video will definitely help me in my endeavors. Thanks

nice video. very lucky getting the broken bolt out....
when i split my 1900 dual clutch, i put ratchet straps from front axle to back on both sides to provide tension, put everything in gear (trans, 4x4, pto) and rocked the rear tires. it engaged on the third roll. for others watching, on the dual clutch, you can used 1/2 all-thread rod and two 1/2 sockets (one deep, one shallow, forget which sizes, nested inside each other) to fit inside the splines of both clutch plates in case you cant source the alignment tool. local shop quoted me 16 hours. doing it the first time was about 12 including taking loader off and welding landing gear with casters for both halves and reassembly. i was lucky, tractor was always stored inside and drive clutch plate was worn out because it wasnt adjusted properly so no other parts to replace. i reused the pto clutch.

Oh hey, I didn't realize you were the video I watched and learned where to torque the clutch bolts down to! CRAZY helpful here.

Great video, I just received the ford 1600 my dad bought new in 77. It runs great but does need some servicing. It's nice the 1500, 1600, and 1700 are very similar.
Keep making videos and I'll keep watching.

My service manual shows 43-51 lbs. Ft. for flywheel mounting bolts and 16.6-21lbs. Ft for clutch mounting bolts which is probably why you broke a bolt

Oh. please dont stick your fingers near the bell housing as you are trying to push the gearbox into place. i was getting scared you would snap your fingers on between. for my Ford 3000 i use two long shafts or the L handle spanners to align the two through holes in the bell housing and the gearbox. once the two mesh i remove the two L handles and place in the bolts. Good job. Those steel bolts for the clutch assembly are not easy to get. you have to get them from a serious hardware shop or a tractor shop. watching you from Nairobi -Kenya. for a tractor owner, everyday is a learning day. something crops up. never take chances on the clutch and as you stated." take your time when fastening the clutch bolts by hand first before using a spanner". i like your skills. i also do the same.

Yes. Single. In a month or so, I hope to have a duel stage clutch video. It is for a Ford 1910. I am working on getting it running first as I type.

@@rushedscheduledfun3963 thank you I have a 1715 that i was told it requires a dual clutch, but it looks the exact same as the closer than yours.

@davidyoas3137 when you take it apart . You will see what you have then. Then order parts. These tractor parts are hard to return and costly to be wrong in my experience. Good luck
