I will be so glad when that top arch and balcony is secured. It looks like it could topple over at anytime. You are all doing such h an amazing job ! Well done !!
Over time I got the feeling that the arch is much stronger than it looks. It's quite big and yet it stood the test of time, and I've never seen anything crumble off the arch, even when they were putting in the floors.
Yes, definitely give that windiw arch some temporary diagonal timber cradle and bracing from the floor while you repair and strengthen its brickwork ready for the roof. You can then tie it into the roof timbers and it will be safe. This is the real deal chateau restoration channel. I can't believe some of the bull channel 4 have featured with fake drama and gossip compared to the stuff here on Dan's channel. Maybe I have just got wrong what the TV audience wants. Maybe they do want fake drama and reality bullshit rather than this genuine restoration story. It's such a shame Dan is not getting a slice of some TV revenue to help with his costs. I would be glued to this on TV.
LOL at around 2:50 I notice someone whistled a small part of Bad Moon Rising... My husband pointed this out to me and we both started laughing.. We own a signs, graphics and printing shop in Canada... I am a graphic designer... When I get stressed and busy I whistle that part of Bad Moon Rising, over and over.. I did it without even noticing I was doing it.. My husband pointed this out.. One day I was extremely stressed at work and whistling this over and over.. My husband finally got annoyed with me and told me to stop whistling and put on the radio.. So I put the radio on and, guess what was playing.. Yes Bad Moon Rising.. lol... Of course we both started laughing and the day wasn't so stressful after that... Thank you for taking us along on your amazing journey we cannot wait for the day when you start working on the inside walls of this beautiful project.. AND we can't wait until you are done!!!! :) Dan you are an inspiration! Keep up the amazing work...
So much progress in so little time. A huge effort for all concerned. Many thanks to Calvin, Brian, and the powerful Nick. But mostly to Dan the; cameraman, editor, project manager, carpenter, bricklayer, visionary and cook. Have great Father’s Day with the boys. 😊😊😊
I am so very thankful that I had enough sense to have been watching you work on this chateau from the very beginning. I would not have missed this amazing renovation for anything 😊
Fanfrickentastic!!!! What a week!! Thank you so much for letting us all be apart of it. Have a beautiful weekend with your boys and I can't wait to see what you get on with next week. Much love.
In exercise class for people with cardiac issues, the PT therapist has you do 10 minutes of “arm cranks “ . Here, you’ve done 1000’s of them!! Bless your heart for all this construction!
@@oldmaninthewood that's lovely! I've been told being a grandparent its way better than being a parent, less stress? You will have to let all of us know!
The memory of you the boys and annalize walking down that driveway the first time, to find that falling down castle and the look on your face, I just knew you were going to make that the most beautiful place in the world.
Its amazing how much work and labor that has gone into rebuilding this Chateau from the ground up and Dan was pretty much by himself for so long its great that Nick and Brian have joined in with Dan to make this Chateau great again!
I'm like a squirrel lately with this restoration.....Look a Beam!!!....Look another Beam!!!...Look a Floor!!!....Look another Floor!!!....Look more Noggins!!!....Look SOME PUPPIES!!! Wait....WHERE are the PUPPIES????
Dan, want would you do without Nick, he is a true friend, I'm sure you are paying him but he has been there from the beginning, whether it be the trees, garden, clearing the land or the build, what a guy!!! Kathy USA 🇺🇸
What a perfect idea! But more like a proper plaque in a discreet corner with the names proudly emblazoned. The Herculean efforts on all of The Boys’ part should be established for posterity! In all seriousness, I am so glad that Dan has all of this help now for both his safety (I was often on tenterhooks when he didn’t post for a few days as I feared the worst had happened) and for the gratification regarding the speed with which the project is moving ahead with several pairs of hands as opposed to Dan’s alone. As others have commented, though, I wish they would wears gloves and safety equipment. Gah!
Dan, you have your own big shoes to fill! How will you keep us holding our breath when you tackle plumbing?!? 😂 Seriously, we’d watch you watching paint dry. Bravo from longtime fan!
What a journey we have had with you, Dan. What a privilege. Yes, lots more to do but so much less than that which lay before you on day one. What an achievement.
Hi I discovered this today on youtube and have watched all episodes it took most of the day and evening lol but it was great made from day 1. I am a builder myself and have been in the trade for over 30 years now, mostly in large buildings, but i've always wanted to do exactly what you guys are doing here, except my wife would have killed me then lol. I think I'm too old now at 61 to start something like that something at my age but you made an old man wake up again lol. Good luck with your build, I'll be following your build here on youtube
"What a Dream!" That is true not just because you're nearing the end of installing steel beams, but because this is YOUR vision, your dream! You are accomplishing something amazing. Great job to the whole team!!!! ❤❤❤
Happy Father's Day Dan!!! It is exciting to see you so close to the finishing the last floor! So close to the top! Thank you for letting us tag along, this has been a great journey to follow. Another week with so much progress, and great friends to help. You are a very lucky man Dan and truly blessed to have such great friends like you have.
It’s going so fast now. It’s exciting to watch it all come together. As for that arch, I’ve been holding my breathe every time I see it expecting it to falls down as well. But it’s still there. I really am looking forward to seeing the walls go up around it. Exciting stuff. Enjoy your boys and have a great weekend.
Well done boys please be careful that top bit looks very precarious I'm a bit worried bits may fall on you can't imagine how you're going to build it ,good luck.
The arch has to have some kind of reinforcement inside. You can't just build a lonely arch like that without something to support it on either side. Probably there's a forged iron bar hidden in the top brickwork that pulls the arch together and there might be steel or iron in the columns underneath as well.
Last Floor being Installed - wow - very nearly there ! Great Teamwork and the Lifter done its Job ! Progress-Progress ! Many Cheers from Australia !!!!
Dan,Nick,Brian. The best construction crew ever. So much to see and take in on this project. The moving of materials, mixing cement, laying bricks, installing steel beams, planting,on and on. I’m so proud of you boys. Have a great weekend. Until Monday. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🍺🍺🕊🙏🌈🇺🇸😇🌞🌹❤️👍
Great video, happy Friday and have a great Fathers Day this weekend. It is always amazing to see the amount of work you and the guys can do. Thank you for sharing.

The really costly things are coming soon, sadly, plumbing, heating and cooling that places, roof, finishing walls and putting down actual flooring wood, still have a long ways to go but getting all the levels in is a big achievement
Whenever I see you all painting the steel beams, it takes me back to the time I was in the US Navy on board the aircraft carrier USS George Washington. The phrase there for painting was "Once over dust! Twice over rust!"😁
The lifty will help with the final finishing work on those high ceilings... you previously wanted a garage to store all the stuff and that will need a roof...mr lifty will keep on cranking for ya
Love love, love that wooden door created by Dan The Man with the rusty saws for giant latches. I remember when Dan put that on video! Also, how cute were the three Amego's perched atop that concrete rail:)
You might not think you'll need that lifter anymore, bur definitely keep it around for when you're doing sheetrocking. I promise you'll be thankful you did!

Definitely wear your harness working near that edge! 😄 At some point you'll need to dismantle the loose tower bricks. And I assume the big arch needs a rebuild too. Onwards and literally upwards!
When I remember seeing you doing the same things on the opposite side mostly all alone, I still get goosebumps. Well done Dan! Well done guys you're inspiring ❤❤
