Thank you man, I just really wish Chainsaw Man is gonna stay in this slow pacing. I absolutely adore the focus on the slice of life and psychology aspect in part 2. It really feels like you're growing with Denji and understanding him more and more. And in top of that, adding Asa mitaka with the same process makes it even more interesting (her individually and her interactions with denji). I've been looking for a show like that for ages since HXH. Of course, i also want to see some fights since they become even more powerful and meaningful with this focus on the characters involved and the world they live in. I want Denji and or Asa vs Barem and/or Yoshida, Denji being pals with Katana Man and learning more about friendship, more interactions between Denji and Asa, a deep dive of both's psychology... Kind of hard to put my thoughts into words but man, Chainsaw Man is such a breath of fresh air
I love how Barem can somehow be a much more threatening presence than Fami, arguably the most powerful character in CSM right now (keep in mind, she managed to enslave a primal fear devil). That being said, there's a chance that the two might be in cahoots, so we shall see I guess. I've been really liking the uptick in quality in the recent chapters. A reminder to always let Fujimoto cook.
@@zigazdovc6175 What contract? It was never mentioned anywhere that they made up one. Besides, if you look at the way Falling ended up, it's pretty much in line with the other devils Fami had summoned using her powers.
@@aleisinwndrlen7113 I suggest re reading the manga and pay better attention, Falling Devil themselves says that the contract is over between them. Fami does not have anywhere close to the power required to control a Primal against their will, are you insane?
@@zigazdovc6175 Okay, I've re-read the falling devil arc twice and still not a word about a contract. Even if there were one, I doubt it's a mutual one, as I struggle to think why the term would force Falling to turn herself into an effigy should she fail to feed Asa to the Justice Devil. She just seemed waay too obedient towards Fami, so I don't know, man.
I'm glad the people in the audience are leaving the story, because they expected a battle manga, in which from the very jump it wasn't promising that at all. Chainsawman is simply just a story that happens to have really great action in it, but that isn't the focus, the focus is Denji. (And the characters) From chapter 1 till now this has always been the case.
I hate that I have to wait for your reviews a couple days after the chapter drops. Nobody does Chainsaw Man content like you and I NEED your take after the most recent chapter.
Denji vs Yoshida: - the fight is about to start at the end of a chapter - one week break (at least) - fight starts - someone says something important - fight ends
Something that i really apppreciate about CSM is that of all the series i currently read. CSM is the only one that i cant really get a good read on where the story is going or whats going to happen next. every time i think i have an idea of what could happen within the arc, the story goes another way.
I'm glad we had an internal monologue for Denji again, part 2 has been missing that intentionally to express things with it's artwork and paneling which is most obvious in Asa having become a very jaded and "it is what it is" kinda person, it's a heavy contrast to how argumentative and how many internal monologues she had at the beginning and it shows her lack of agency in the later parts of the story really well. I don't mind this approach but i just prefer taking a deep dive into the characters' heads, i think it brings way more food for thought and i'm also stupid and there's only so much i'm able to read through the artwork itself lol. Fami has been standing right between Asa and Denji for a while now and i think that could be a hint at her manipulating their hunger (Denji's resolve to find Nayuta and Asa's feelings for Denji/CSM) to create a situation where the full version of Chainsaw Man pulls up, i think it's most clear with this chapter having Denji wonder if anyone else went through the same thing as him and if that's supposed to be normal while the panels keep showing Fami in the background as a reminder that this is an orchestrated event. Anyway i'm glad Barem is back, he's been the most intriguing and entertaining antagonist in part 2 for me.
That's one of my biggest questions about Fami's powers. I doubt it's that literal (as in enslaving beings only when they are starved of sustenance). In other words, I think her powers may have more to do with hunger/cravings in general, ie. hunger for vengeance etc. There's still a whole lot we don't know about her.
Denji is abused by women and takes that rage out on the men around him. At this point its a pattern and i think it will be one of the major plot points and themes of the manga, how male abuse victims react to female abuse especially when you have power imbalances around the relationships.
I think it would be very funny if the Sushi that barem handed to Denji was actually just Nayuta, the only fashion in which I think it would be funny to kill her off screen lol
Barem returning only means that at some point (if not already) he’s gonna deliver a lot of hurt to Denji even more than what he’s already done. I don’t believe he knows where Nayuta is and even if he does it’s only serving to help him escape public safety. Asa is behaving distant towards Denji over what Yoru made her do. Nobana roasted Asa later on which made me laugh. Fami continues to be the best part of these chapters to me lately. Especially when she tired to talk while eating. Also, I’m glad Denji was ready to end Barem when he saw him. That was awesome.
@@aleisinwndrlen7113Agreed. As much as I enjoyed Sukuna and Yuji as characters, as opposites it's kind of eh. While Sukuna was a subversion of the evil demon where the character defies Sukuna, and Sukuna is the one who doesn't care about how his hedonism affects others. In the end it's your typical inner demon relationship. Sukuna wants to be stronger and enjoy being a hedonist and besides Yuji striving for helping others I feel their relationship isn't as interesting. Asa and Yoru are the reason why I enjoyed CSM Part 2 despite the issues with the pacing, some forgettable characters besides a few, and the art not doing well. (But I refer the art in contrast to JJK) Asa and Yoru represent how someone descends into darker territory on selfishnes and selflessness. In my eyes I love Yoru's dynamic with Asa because even if she's not my favorite compared to Sukuna, her incapacity to understand feelings and her complicated relationship with Asa is interesting. If Yoru stays with Asa, she's making Asa lose herself morally wise and even if she despises her sisters the Four Hourseman she's still a horrible person. Asa is becoming more cold like Yoru and something tells me Yoru and Asa might become one or lose themselves.
@@IAmBored347honestly, I don’t even think about Sukuna’s and Yuji’s dynamic, I just see them as 2 completely separate characters. Yuji and Mahito were way more interesting, Sukuna on the other hand is just another curse for Yuji to exorcise… and I can’t wait for that moment to come
@IAmBored347 Also, we see Asa and Yoru interact more. I love Fujimoto and everything he has written, and I have enjoyed part 2 since chapter 98 and up to chapter 156, despite the complaints of the community about this part being to slow. However, I think that the last 30 or so chapters truly were slow, to the point that some chapters felt like they were barely progressing the plot. I still trust Fujimoto, and it seems that he's picking the pace again, but I honestly think that he could give himself a break, specially after all the leak situation from two years ago and his statement on how tired he was of having to draw and write stories
Barem’s wording on his statement on knowing where Nayuta is leaves me worried that denji will end up finding her corpse. But all we can do is wait for the next chapter, time to go into full coping mode.
Is public safety chasing Denji though? They could easily be after Barem alone and Denji and crew happens to be there. They could have ambushed Denji's crew easily at the Brothel also. Barem is just the best kind of chaotic evil character you love to hate.
Barem is actually my new favorite villain just because he is simultaneously the most heinous and silliest villain so far.
I honestly kinda love how despicable he is. He just kinda carries an aura with him and really the first ever character to have Denji angry like this.
