Hey, this is a super smart video and goes into deep analysis. Something I'd say before watching the video:
Psychiatry is a band-tape to fix a system that is fundamentally broken. Ie. modern capitalism and unhealthy working culture.
Much of the current depression and anxiety comes from the disappointment with working life. The impossible demands and ceaseless struggle demanded by kong working hours and hard tasks at work tends to burn people out.
Some of conditions like ADHD and Autism is just explained our working life and society not accepting their difference from most people. Earlier, such people might have just been seen as somewhat different in some way from others, but now this has been medicalised and diagnosed. Double-edged sword - it makes you understand them better and to provide treatment - but at the same time, it differentialises and "others" you from people.
I'll not be an idiot, though, many conditions have actually negative consequences that don't have to do with how society is and are just generally bad for people. I'd say schizophrenia doesn't benefit anyone, hearing voices that don't exist and being paranoid is not good for you.
Now, if you look up all the possible physical and mental health conditions - and look up the opposite of those traits, then you get what the ideal person should be like. I doubt they even exist, but imagine there being such a people. Without autism, ADHD, Tourette, OCD, antisocial personality, narcissism, BPD, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety etc. Or without any physical illnesses, but this is too long of a list to give.
What I mean is that in short, if someone says that a symptom of autism is having a special interest that they compulsively have to think about and that they don't care about public opinion, the "normal person" (non-autistic) is the opposite to which they are compared, and is considered healthy. Similarly, a depressed person is sad and suicidal, ie. a healthy person is happy and always wants to live on. (Just some examples that don't tell the whole truth or properties of autism or depression, though)

it is completely pointless to diagnose people with autism, because there is no treatment and no protocols for parents other than "be considerate towards your child's needs". People with autism and ADHD will grow up using their status as a scapegoat for their failures. "I should really find a job, but I have autism so it's not my fault..." etc. Regardless of whether or not that's true, it isn't helpful. I'm glad I grew up extremely self-critical and didn't just accept my flaws.

@@risebellthesummoner Not quite. It can be used as a scapegoat, but such diagnoses will be used by society to justify their unwillingness to cater to their needs or employ them. "We can't do that because they are just different and inferior"

@@risebellthesummoner It might be useful if the state were to provide benefits to them; but unfortunately it's pretty hard for people with autism to get disability unless they're so autistic that they're literally non-verbal. Some sources I've looked at show that autists only have like a 20% employment rate. Suffice to say, that being autistic is kind of a "social disability" that makes it nearly impossible to fit in or engage in normal interpersonal interaction. So I think having benefits available for autistic people -- no questions asked -- is a good idea.
But yeah as it is, since the state doesn't really give a shit about autists, there's no point. All the "treatments" for autism are abusive, like applied behavioral therapy, and Autism Speaks keeps trying to find a "cure" for it that basically just amounts to fetal screening so parents can murder their autistic babies before they're born. Shit's fucked.

@@leftwingbreadtuber649 Other than eugenics I don't believe there is a solution for it, it's definitely an existing condition (I'd know since I have it) and it's inherited with several other combined negative traits. The only medical "solution" you can have is to become addicted to amphetamines and opiates and become even more miserable.
That being said, ultimately it's not helpful to feel sorry for people in a blanket sort of way. I consider it a violent affliction that must be controlled in my personal life, but most people don't (or can't, considering something like 70% of autists have an IQ below 80) and ultimately a lot of these people end up downright evil.
To give an example, a huge number of transsexuals have also been diagnosed with autism. What people don't consider is that these people are not only insufferable, they also engage in grooming behaviors towards others and perpetuate it.
Ironically I've grown to have a sort of ingrained hatred towards others suffering the same thing and more often than not my preujdices just end up being validated. It's not a pleasant situation whichever way you look at it.

      @@risebellthesummonerwhat??
There are many treatments for autism, and it's more than just behavioral.
For me getting physical therapy for my fine motor control issues was as huge help and that was only possible because I got diagnosed.

the further i get into the video the more i see your outright lies, therapists are not supposed to continue treatment they are supposed to wrap it up in 10 weeks minimum and 1 year maximum
