- We tried out this 360 hp V10 Engine on the streets of Belgium. We filmed it with a GoPro 7 Black. Enjoy! This Mercedes-Benz truck from 1985 is still preserved in very good condition. It drives like new. It's absolutely a pleasure to drive something like this. And the sound is amazing.

went for a ride in a brand new I 2632 V10. Such a refined truck. Quiet, smooth and nice smooth ride.
Als ich ich 2005 als Fahrer in einer Spedition angefangen habe, hatten wir dort eine 3achser NG 360 als Schwerlastzugmaschine. Auch ich kam in den Genuss diesen noch fahren zu dürfen. Der Klang war wie eine Melodie. Eine sehr schöne Maschine. Der NG war noch bis 2013 im täglichen Einsatz. Zumeist für Materialtransporte für Braunkohletagebaue.
These kind of trucks was part of my life... My father had brought me for a ride on his Mercedes 38 logger truck when my age was 2 and now im 17 so im a fan of these mercedes trucks

Sounds great, looks like a real low rev torque machine! Back in the day here in NZ these were quite common for hauling cattle, and bulk commodities in 8x4 configuration with 3 axle trailers. Top video.
The 400 series engines aren’t that at all. They thrive on revs. They certainly need working up and down the box unlike a Gardner. The engine in these is a big old lump 18.3 litres but sometimes needs the full 2500 rpm to get anywhere.

That steering wheel is hard work.
it depends on how you look/care after the steering system.
Personally I prefer MAN F90/F2000. for me still dream truck. that era was characterized by high durability, reliability, functionality, failure-free due to the minimization of electronics. now electronics controls everything, interferes with everything and is of poor quality. it is such a system of interconnected and managed electronic cells. past times were simple and functional. back then, accountants did not construct / build trucks, but specialists for drivers, not for an authorized service station. completely different attitude / philosophical approach and art.

nah it's confortable and soft and light from my driving expirience with this truck

Bei uns in der Feuerwehr läuft noch ein 1226 als L.F.u.ein 1831 als T.L.F. Das macht noch Spass zu Fahren vor allem bei Einsätzen da strahlt jeder Maschinist.

these Engines are insanely quiet, we have a 4 Axle 360hp V10 NG in the shop right now and it's far more quiet then a modern Actros or Volvo

Saugdiesel, unglaublich. Wann war das? Ende der 70er? Da war doch Turboaufladung schon üblich bei Scania z.B. Der musste ja ein nutzbares Drehzahlband haben von 300/min oder so...
Keep your new comfort cab actros nothing but trouble on the other hand these early models not the prettiest but what a truck I drove these back in the day never had any problems with it only my arm used to ache were the gear stick was positioned

Die schönste Maschine dieser Zeit war der V8 Turbo.
Der OM 422 A (330 PS) und auch der 354 PS-V8 hatten einen guten Klang. Bin den 330er im O 303 noch gefahren, da brauchte es kein Radio ... ;-)

I think I know the truck you are talking about. It was near center of Germany and it looked exactly like it other than a different colour. It really was beautiful. Unfortunately it was sold before we could have purchased it. This truck was exported to one of our clients in RDC. You can always contact us via Facebook or via our website email address.

Was war an diesem V10 anders als beim OM403 mit 320PS? Vom Klang her ist das auch ein Sauger. Ist das noch ein OM403?
Diesen LKW hat einen OM423 motor. Motorleistung ist größer und die Einspritzpumpe ist anders. im übrigen ist es ein bisschen ähnlich.
@@jusefmadhloum9252 Danke. Dann hat der also 18,2 Liter Hubraum. So konnte ich es bei Google finden. Ist wohl der größte V10 Saugmotor im NG. Hoffentlich fährt der LKW noch.

This is non turbo engine isn't it? We used to have NG 1936 V10 tractor unit so I believe that was OM423 engine as well?

@@MrMtallii yes that's right! However there was one model of OM423LA in an NG truck that produced 550 hp. This truck was for pulling heavy loads so we didn't get to see it often!

Yes they are . The V10 is 18.3 litres. It has a zf 18 speed gearbox. To keep it on check

Yes. 26 tonnes GVW but some Mercedes trucks are designed for 33 tonnes where it says 26. And 360 hp.

Die Sitzposition ist ja wohl absolut schlecht hinter dem Lenkrad, was man nicht höher und weiter nach hinten bekommt.....

@@StraiyEU Ja natürlich, man muss schon Freude an den alten Maschinen haben. Aber lieber höre ich mir den Klang eines alten LKW's an und bin beim Fahren voll eingebunden, anstatt das alles leise ist und der LKW fast schon selber fährt. Das finde ich langweilig.
@@FreFa-ch Früh oder später fahren die eh alleine, deswegen mache ich meinen Techniker schon mal.. Denn Auslieferungsverkehr mit 15 Kunden am Tag, werde ich nicht fahren, evtl noch mit nem 12t, ne Danke.. Zur Zeit bin ich noch im Schwerlastbereich unterwegs.. solange es läuft,läuft es was anderes werde ich nicht mehr fahren... Schwerlast/Tieflader...
Im Alltag, möchte ich die alte LKW nicht mehr fahren.... Sicherlich haben die was.. Geschichte eben..
