@@LeoGibsonGtr I was talking generally, not just about this product. The work that you do for guitar digital modeling community is outstanding and very appreciated! Even more so because you're a monster player and musician.
Hi, Thanks SO much for including the effects loop in your test! If we keep in mind the time it takes sound to leave an amp sitting 10 feet away = ~ 9 milliseconds of latency. So this unit is actually not too bad.
You are welcome! Unfortunately I don't have it....If Headrush will send me one I will be happy to check it out...or maybe I will find a good 2nd hand unit in the future... Thank you!
Hello Leo, I'm Aytek (Guitar Coach) I have a channel similar to yours in Turkey. I shot a pre-promotional video of this product, then I received a message. There are delays when using the expression pedal. Then, when I tested the product I had, I found that there were serious delays in tone transitions and pedal use, and sometimes even freezing. Do you have such problems with your product? I would be very happy if you answer. You have a great channel, I'm glad you have it... Best regards.
Hi Ayetek, thank you for reaching out! Actually I have not had this issue, but I didn't test it extensively: I have to check it out more in depth. Thank you for your suggestion and good luck with your channel: I wish you the best!!!
Hi, thank you, I'm happy that you appreciate the video! Well, it's hard to tell, I should make a video comparison to answer properly....maybe in the coming months.... Thank you and sorry if I can't be more precise...
Hi Leo, amazing video as always. I'm wondering, how come BOSS can get to sub 1ms latency and none of the other companies can? What is BOSS doing differently?
You are welcome!!! Let me say that NUX and Strymon Iridium are very close at near 1ms. I don't know how Boss can achieve these results....maybe they can leverage of years and years of experience in this area, from pedals to midi devices etc...I think they deal with latency since the 80s...I have asked them to tell how they can achieve such results.....but they told me that it is an "industrial" secret. Thank you!
Ciao, direi che è possibile...in termini di pura qualità dovrei confrontarli in una video comparison...preferisco non esprimermi prima di un test accurato Grazie!
I am so sure all producers will (if not already) take Leo's videos very seriously. Especially in the LATENCY department. They will probably start using it is a main selling/marketing point as the sound is already indistinguishable from the best real amps/rigs. Thank you as always./
Interesting question...I don't think it is possible, as the signal chain is pretty different...and also the cab block is different... Thank you for your question!
How are they realizing the latency not going up when the loop is activated? Are they artificially raising latency with the loop off so it's always the same? Must be something like that because additional DA/AD conversion can't be had without additional latency and there's pretty much always at least some additional processing latency involved, too.
A good question. These latency results are weird: I guess you are correct regarding the insertion of no-loop latency. You'd think this should be switchable though: those of us who don't use fx loops are not going to be very impressed!
Yes, interesting questions....I don't have a tech explanation...but I noticed this behaviour also in other devices...maybe they are rising the basic latency as @digitalchris6681 is saying or they are making all the conversions right at the beginning also for the loop...As I said...I don't have a "technical" explanation....
Hi, when you add a wireless transmitter or an effect in the loop...yes, it could become a problem if the amp modeller does not have good latency performances.
Yes. Since the effect loop typically requires additional D to A and then A back to D conversion, time based or modulation effects work OK, however, something like a Klon would not do very well. You would definitely feel the latency.
Hi Giampiero, I'm working on the review of the GE 1000 currently...I need time to test it properly and maybe I will do a comparison in the coming weeks. Thank you!
Here is the thing- 5 ms is equivalent to just standing 5 more feet away from a tube amp speaker. It is not perceivable. It just isn't. I'm not sure why so much attention is focused on this parameter given these facts.
Please take into consideration that you have to evaluate the overall latency of your system...and latency some up...if you use a wireless transmitter, latency sum up, the latency of your modeller sum up, if you are far from the speaker...latency sum up, if you have another digital pedal in the loop of your modeller...latency sum up. Therefore, at the end, the overall latency of your system could become annoying.
Honestly. I have played or owned all of the major modelers and a ton of the lesser ones and have NEVER had a single issue with latency on any of them. Including one of the so called worst ones the Headrush MX5.
Everybody has different sensibility to latency: someone has problems with even with low values, someone else not....Furthermore latency sum up, therefore if you add a wireless transmitter or an effect in the loop...the level of latency could become annoying.
If Leo didn't review it, I'm not buying it 😄
If Leo didn't review it, it doesn't exist within my reality.
😂😂😂
😀....I'm working in the review in these days...😀

You are welcome and I'm happy to have been of some help!!!

Thank you so much for such a great compliment!!!
Thanks Leo! I would love to see this kind of study on the Headrush Prime or Core (2nd generation Headrush units)!

Very insightful. Thank you! :)
You are welcome!!!
Very impressive results for a mid-budget unit. It's nice you can count on the latency not going over a certain amount. 👍
Thank you for sharing!
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day leo ❤😊
Thank you!!!

Ciao Leo,a tuo avviso la sezione power amp di questa ,si equivale a quella di ampero stomp per uso ibrido con pre valvolare ?

So latency is slightly worse than GE-250 / GE-300, interesting. Thanks for testing!
You are welcome!
Have you ever discovered latency to be an actual issue with any hardware modeler? Like to the point where its affecting your live play?
I certainly haven't and I have owned almost all of the major modelers and a bunch of the lesser known ones.

Hi, is it possible to connect a cell phone to listen to a Backing Track?
Hi, as far as I remember it is possible
@@LeoGibsonGtr Yes, thanks, I understood where I was wrong, I always forget that you have to search on the device's mobile phone.
For you is better this mooer..or headrush?
Hi, let's say that I'm not a big fan of Headrush units....
Please, repeat the test with the latest firmware update
Thank you for your suggestion!
Leo, would you do a comparison video of the ampero 2 stage against the line 6 hx stomp xl?
Hi, yes, I think it would be interesting....but I need time....currently I'm working on the review of the Mooer GE 1000...
do you prefer distorsions of ampero 2 stage or mooer ge 1000?
Hi Giampiero, I'm working on the review of the GE 1000 currently...I need time to test it properly and maybe I will do a comparison in the coming weeks.

So the latency got quite worse than the GE300 and even the GE250.

I guess it becomes a problem when you have wireless for the guitar, wireless IEM, or uses other digital effects.
