Thank You, Leo. This is the first real review of Mooer GE1000 on UA-cam. So many information, with so many details. I have got here all the answers I was interested to.
This is a really great video Leo. The sounds, effects, information, etc. are all really top quality. Your a good example of always striving for excellence.
1. The looper is pretty long i.e. 8 minutes, therefore it allows us to play a longer song loop or even a few full songs consecutively within a loop!.. and probably a medley as well.. wow! i think it's a great feature and really usefull for a one-man show.. 2. The touch screen feature is also useful and friendly since we are used to it on our daily gajets.. 3. i am not really bothered by the missing speaker/mic tweeking feature since i never use it before anyway.. 4. And for me, i am not too sure whether it's necessary to have a paralel order of effects since i've never before arrange them as such.. i am good with the series order.. Anyways, it's a great review as usual.. the demo songs are phenomenal! i really like them.. Thank you so much Leo!

Great review as always. One topic you should always include is the DSP limits. I play in a worship band and the music is very fx heavy and I feel many of these units offer many fx block, but quickly run out of DSP when using multiple reverbs and delays. Can you expand on this topic. Thanks!

Sometimes it is funny how different we see stuff and how we value content. I agree, Leo's playing is outstanding, no doubt about it. However, that is not what attracts me to this channel. It is the in-depth and extremely detailed analysis of hardware and software. His attention to detail and ability to analyze, and even more importantly, share his findings in a way that makes sense, is, at least to me, second to none on UA-cam. You will find extremely talented instrumentalists in any style all over the place. However, finding someone with the knowledge, will and dedication to perform time-consuming research that provides insight, and then being able to communicate it through the screen, is what makes me come back for mooer ;) By the way, I am not a native speaker, you might get lost in translation.

All'intelligenza artificiale avrei preferito un dual signal path ed al profiler la possibilità di una maggiore versatilità sui cabinet. Che poi è tutto relativo. Ormai anche con il più cheap di queste unità si possono trovare suoni più che convincenti ed in abbondanza! Buona musica!

You are welcome! I should do a direct comparison to answer properly. Nevertheless, I would say that the MX5 is missing the computer app and has a pretty poor cab simulation (if I remember it well)...Furthermore with the GE 1000 you can download profiles of amps from the web, that is an important aspect to take into consideration (in my opinion). Thanks!

Something similar to Leo's dreaming (at 08:05): upload a sample file with the desired guitar sound (eg. a fragment of a music track), play something (like in the tone capture mode) and the unit will figure out a preset (or a few variations) that is close to the destination sample. That would be nice! :)

For example I have the Ge300 lite, but now although I like the GE 1000, I wonder, should I upgrade to the FM3, and is it upgrade at all, as the Mooer has some unique features, not present in the FM3, despite the price. The opinion of an expert like you would be very valuable. At least for me. Hope you consider to do such comparison. Thank you for your hard work!

Ciao Leo. Ecco un altro video degno di nota e una demo song da paura! Sull' AI sfondi una porta aperta. La feature che hai ipotizzato da un lato ci farebbe diventare davvero pigri ma forse aumenterebbe la selezione naturale... Chissà magari tra 50 anni per essere sound engineer basterà saper inserire manualmente l'ottavo puntato nel delay... Scherzi a parte... Tutto sta cambiando e noi facciamo bene ad essere parte del cambiamento perché il chitarrista invecchia è non diventa vintage! Questa mi sembra bella unità. C'è tutto senza andare troppo nel tecnico (ad. Esempio per me non è importante la tipologia o l'orientamento del microfono se il suono di partenza è valido). Oltre a questo, il looper, il Bluetooth è l'aux in ne fanno un coltellino svizzero dallo studio al Live. Insomma... Per me è un buon prodotto!

Wow, the fact these now support full hi-res audio up to 192KHz audio has me mega excited. Until now most units in this price point where 24bit but only 44.1KHz capable. While I'd argue only the finest large Orchestra orchestral music benefits from 192KHz 24bit recording. I haven't heard anything that isn't perfect at 48 to 96KHz 24bit sample rate. Don't preach Nyquist stability theorem to me. It's like going from a CD to a Vinyl for an analogue recording(in all fairness a standard CD is 16bit only and relies heavily on the mixing and mastering.). There is a difference equal to going from standard CD to Super Audio proper DSD recordings for example. To my ears HIRES 24bit 96KHz recording(even most 48KHz recordings) sound identical if not better to fine analogue vinyls if not better. So why not use the finest digital quality for sound samples period, it's not like storage space is an issue anymore. Looking forward to checking this unit out and thanks for sharing.

Hi, yes, I don't see any specific issue that should prevent using ToneX in the loop. Latency sum up, I mean you have to add the latency of the GE 1000 to the one of the ToneX... Thanks!
Thank you for the perfect detailled review. I boughtthis unit and I really like it. But theres one thing which is really annoying. The Expression Pedal responsibility is far to slow with volume and wahwah... It makes it nearly unusable. Would be nice if you could test it. Can you give me a feedback if you have the same issues with the pedal?

How was the latency specially when you are changing patch? Because in nuxmg30 the latency is very good(as long as you are using same amp/cab sim). Because it is always an issue for me for a multi efx pedal.
I think most guitar players are waiting for the day where you can feed a dry recording from the guitar and some sepecific song with guitar sounds and AI will generate the preset for a specific pedalboard for you. I think that day is fast approaching. The downside is maybe the pedalboards will stop having a signal chain as we know it and become simply a sort of a one-step highly adaptable signal processing machines.
Thank you for your review! I got a similar idea for a modeler wit AI. It would be amazing if the modeler could analyse a song and models the guitar sound. I called Kemper for some weeks and told them my idea. Amazing that you have the same idea!
Hi Leo, after seeing your video I got the Mooer GT1000 but as usual "maybe I don't understand much about these pedals" but I can't understand how to calibrate the expression pedal. For example, at least on my mooer, to activate it I have to press very hard but so hard, it doesn't seem normal to me. Could you make a video to better explain how it works? I wouldn't want my mooer to have problems thanks
You can set the force to activate it within the calibration procedre. It's the last calibration step. Just don't press it hard and it will take the force for the activation.

Ciao, secondo me per Mooer ci sono dei bei profili. Ho caricato anche qualcuno dei miei e credo che quello del Plexi suoni bene...a me piace. L'ecosistema non è così evoluto come quello del ToneX...appunto manca ad esempio un'app per PC o Mac, ma è disponibile solo per telefono. Ciao!

Would you be interested in using one of these less expensive modelers to try to get the guitar tones of Dickey Betts and Duane Allman from the famous Fillmore Live album? They played les pauls and SGs straight into Marshalls. Dickey used the 100w and Duane used the 50 watt. It would be interesting to see how close you can get to a classic rock guitar tone using one of the low-end modelers. Anyway...today was another great demo song! P.S. I wrote this after listening to your song, but before watching the rest of the demo. Thanks again!

I would say that there are feature where the GE 1000 is better (for instance the A.I. eq) and other where the Stage is better (for instance XLR input or more foot switches, etc). Sorry if I missed it, but this thing can play mooer's profiles formats, but it can't make profiles? I believe ge-300 was able to make profiles, and the newer version can't, is that so?
Hi, as far as I know: you can create profiles only with the Mooer GE Labs app. You can load these profiles in any Mooer modeller (but the GE 150 if I remember it well). Some modellers allows you to copy the eq setting or something similar....but not to perform a full profile capture... Thanks!
GE300 and Preamp Live can capture and create a snapshot of gainstage and frequency, like drives in front of an amp and a mic’d up cab, think the GE300 even has the option to capture the guitar. What they can’t do with the build in capture is to add exactly how the amp knobs affect the sound and randomness in clipping like some fuzz pedals, but they are pretty accurate at capturing the more static sound. The Quad Cortex as example captures and profiles, and it is pretty impressive when it comes to capturing different type of fuzz pedals, I don’t know if there is any other unit that can do that.

I just find weird reviewing a product and not giving any opinion on the sound (even if you’re not comparing with other products but at least giving your impression on the overall sound). Don’t get me wrong I love your reviews, your playing, your compositions, I was only a bit disappointed on this aspect.
Way to subjective without comparing, do you remember exactly what pedal x sounded alike 30 minutes ago? You really need to hear them side by side plus how they sit in a mix to really know.
Nice review. Con : the GE LABS is only available on IOS and not on ANDROID and also not on Mac or PC as mentioned. This is so annoying that I will not buy any Mooer unit. I have a PC and a Samsung phone 😊
Buongiorno Leone, ATTENZIONE guardando più video su questa macchina mi sono deciso di comprarla ma mai come questo acquisto mi sono pentito di tale acquisto, l'emulazioni amplificatori sono al livello delle Zoom piu' economici e al tocco è improponibile questa macchina manca di attacco e anche se ha un ritardo di 5 milli secondi che dovrebbe essere normale io lo avverto come quando suona con il vecchio pod se lo confronto con la mia Ampero2 che ha un ritardo di 7,8 MS non c'è paragone, i dilay e gli effetti sono buoni e anche come scheda audio ma gli amplificatori e casse che non hanno nemmeno i microfoni, sono penosi su alcuni aumentando il driver si ingolfano di bassi non ho potuto provare GRN la restituisco subito. un saluto a Leo Gibson che seguo sempre e trovo fatto molto bene i suoi video e il suo modo personale di suonare la chitarra.

Hello Leo. You made an very informative and great video hear! I´ve watched your videos for the better part of 1,5 years now and really value your opinion on the topics you choose. Therefore, would you be interested in making a video about different loadboxes? Although i like modelling there are two amps i want to use at home and by searching for different loadboxes i felt there are so many options that it´s almost confusing. I think you would be the right person to do something like this because your videos are very accurate by comparing latency and so on. Maybe this also accounts for the "feel" test of loadboxes. Your fellow italian friends of Redseven amplification seem to produce a great loadbox with a stereo effect loop for example. Even if you don´t feel like doing such a video, i hope you have many more ideas and creative output to share with us. Enjoy your day and thank you very much for the work you do and share with us.

As regards load boxes, I did a comparison of the Suhr Reactive Load and the Two Notes Torpedo...it's a pretty old video (ua-cam.com/video/flTEt8favu0/v-deo.html), actually the first comparison I did...and then I decided to follow a similar approach for the modellers... Finally I ended up using just the Suhr Reactive Load...and in the last couple of weeks I'm using also the BOSS Waza Tuba Amp expander...as it allows to define the impedance curve...and to me it's a pretty cool feature.... I don't have the Redseven load box...or other models....of course if Redseven will send me a unit to try, I will be happy to test it... In the last weeks I have started using A.I. tools for photo, video generation and some vocals....and I'm really fascinated....I need some time to experiments with these A.I. tools and then I will come back to my standard videos... :)... Thank you!!!
Always great reviews But sadly, another new modeler without bass amp support Also a deal breaker without a PC editor BIG fan of AI with these units. Especially with gainstaging. Sticking with the NU>X MG-30 for now
Hmmm.... no mention of the terrible expression pedal or MIDI CC response. Do not expect to use the expression pedal for anything besides master volume (not useful).
outstanding review. I am both impressed and disappointed with the ge1000, the ai and functionality is awesome, but why does it have such crap audio interface, 44.1k? really? this is a very glaring weakness for me. but again thank you, you put so much work into these reviews, and your playing is world class.
Folks on Amazon who have purchased this are very critical. Under-powered processor (limiting your ability to rebuild your normal pedalboard), no parallel signal chains (just one, again, under-powered processor), glitches everywhere, foot pedal unusable. There really is no shortcut. Helix and Fender and other top-line units are also made in China. There is only QC and components and those both cost money, and then we pay it. Because during a gig it looks and sounds bad to be fiddling with equipment instead of playing.

Some really strange decisions by Mooer for this device 🤔 All those ins and outs, but then only 2×2 for USB. Touchscreen that makes everything accessible, but then 14, seemingly useless, buttons. 8 minutes looper (8 MINUTES!!?!) but then only 8 custom IRs?! If they shortened the looper by 10 seconds that could have been hundreds of IRs.

I should do a direct comparison to answer properly. Nevertheless, I would say that the MX5 is missing the computer app and has a pretty poor cab simulation (if I remember it well)...Furthermore with the GE 1000 you can download profiles of amps from the web, that is an important aspect to take into consideration (in my opinion).

Something similar to Leo's dreaming (at 08:05): upload a sample file with the desired guitar sound (eg. a fragment of a music track), play something (like in the tone capture mode) and the unit will figure out a preset (or a few variations) that is close to the destination sample. That would be nice! :)

For example I have the Ge300 lite, but now although I like the GE 1000, I wonder, should I upgrade to the FM3, and is it upgrade at all, as the Mooer has some unique features, not present in the FM3, despite the price. Wow, the fact these now support full hi-res audio up to 192KHz audio has me mega excited. Until now most units in this price point where 24bit but only 44.1KHz capable. While I'd argue only the finest large Orchestra orchestral music benefits from 192KHz 24bit recording. I haven't heard anything that isn't perfect at 48 to 96KHz 24bit sample rate. Don't preach Nyquist stability theorem to me. It's like going from a CD to a Vinyl for an analogue recording(in all fairness a standard CD is 16bit only and relies heavily on the mixing and mastering.). There is a difference equal to going from standard CD to Super Audio proper DSD recordings for example. To my ears HIRES 24bit 96KHz recording(even most 48KHz recordings) sound identical if not better to fine analogue vinyls if not better. So why not use the finest digital quality for sound samples period, it's not like storage space is an issue anymore. Looking forward to checking this unit out and thanks for sharing.

Hi, yes, I don't see any specific issue that should prevent using ToneX in the loop. Latency sum up, I mean you have to add the latency of the GE 1000 to the one of the ToneX...

How was the latency specially when you are changing patch? Because in nuxmg30 the latency is very good(as long as you are using same amp/cab sim). Because it is always an issue for me for a multi efx pedal.
I think most guitar players are waiting for the day where you can feed a dry recording from the guitar and some sepecific song with guitar sounds and AI will generate the preset for a specific pedalboard for you. I think that day is fast approaching.
The downside is maybe the pedalboards will stop having a signal chain as we know it and become simply a sort of a one-step highly adaptable signal processing machines.

I got a similar idea for a modeler wit AI. It would be amazing if the modeler could analyse a song and models the guitar sound. I called Kemper for some weeks and told them my idea. Amazing that you have the same idea!

Hi Leo, after seeing your video I got the Mooer GT1000 but as usual "maybe I don't understand much about these pedals" but I can't understand how to calibrate the expression pedal.
For example, at least on my mooer, to activate it I have to press very hard but so hard, it doesn't seem normal to me. Could you make a video to better explain how it works? I wouldn't want my mooer to have problems thanks
You can set the force to activate it within the calibration procedre. It's the last calibration step. Just don't press it hard and it will take the force for the activation.

Ciao, secondo me per Mooer ci sono dei bei profili. Ho caricato anche qualcuno dei miei e credo che quello del Plexi suoni bene...a me piace. L'ecosistema non è così evoluto come quello del ToneX...appunto manca ad esempio un'app per PC o Mac, ma è disponibile solo per telefono.

Would you be interested in using one of these less expensive modelers to try to get the guitar tones of Dickey Betts and Duane Allman from the famous Fillmore Live album? They played les pauls and SGs straight into Marshalls. Dickey used the 100w and Duane used the 50 watt. It would be interesting to see how close you can get to a classic rock guitar tone using one of the low-end modelers. Anyway...today was another great demo song! P.S. I wrote this after listening to your song, but before watching the rest of the demo. Thanks again!

Sorry if I missed it, but this thing can play mooer's profiles formats, but it can't make profiles? I believe ge-300 was able to make profiles, and the newer version can't, is that so?
Hi, as far as I know: you can create profiles only with the Mooer GE Labs app. You can load these profiles in any Mooer modeller (but the GE 150 if I remember it well). Some modellers allows you to copy the eq setting or something similar....but not to perform a full profile capture...

GE300 and Preamp Live can capture and create a snapshot of gainstage and frequency, like drives in front of an amp and a mic’d up cab, think the GE300 even has the option to capture the guitar.
What they can’t do with the build in capture is to add exactly how the amp knobs affect the sound and randomness in clipping like some fuzz pedals, but they are pretty accurate at capturing the more static sound.
The Quad Cortex as example captures and profiles, and it is pretty impressive when it comes to capturing different type of fuzz pedals, I don’t know if there is any other unit that can do that.

I just find weird reviewing a product and not giving any opinion on the sound (even if you’re not comparing with other products but at least giving your impression on the overall sound).

Buongiorno Leone, ATTENZIONE guardando più video su questa macchina mi sono deciso di comprarla ma mai come questo acquisto mi sono pentito di tale acquisto, l'emulazioni amplificatori sono al livello delle Zoom piu' economici e al tocco è improponibile questa macchina manca di attacco e anche se ha un ritardo di 5 milli secondi che dovrebbe essere normale io lo avverto come quando suona con il vecchio pod se lo confronto con la mia Ampero2 che ha un ritardo di 7,8 MS non c'è paragone, i dilay e gli effetti sono buoni e anche come scheda audio ma gli amplificatori e casse che non hanno nemmeno i microfoni, sono penosi su alcuni aumentando il driver si ingolfano di bassi non ho potuto provare GRN la restituisco subito. un saluto a Leo Gibson che seguo sempre e trovo fatto molto bene i suoi video e il suo modo personale di suonare la chitarra.

Hello Leo. You made an very informative and great video hear! I´ve watched your videos for the better part of 1,5 years now and really value your opinion on the topics you choose. Therefore, would you be interested in making a video about different loadboxes? Although i like modelling there are two amps i want to use at home and by searching for different loadboxes i felt there are so many options that it´s almost confusing. I think you would be the right person to do something like this because your videos are very accurate by comparing latency and so on. Maybe this also accounts for the "feel" test of loadboxes. Your fellow italian friends of Redseven amplification seem to produce a great loadbox with a stereo effect loop for example.
Even if you don´t feel like doing such a video, i hope you have many more ideas and creative output to share with us. Enjoy your day and thank you very much for the work you do and share with us.

As regards load boxes, I did a comparison of the Suhr Reactive Load and the Two Notes Torpedo...it's a pretty old video (ua-cam.com/video/flTEt8favu0/v-deo.html), actually the first comparison I did...and then I decided to follow a similar approach for the modellers...
Finally I ended up using just the Suhr Reactive Load...and in the last couple of weeks I'm using also the BOSS Waza Tuba Amp expander...as it allows to define the impedance curve...and to me it's a pretty cool feature....
I don't have the Redseven load box...or other models....of course if Redseven will send me a unit to try, I will be happy to test it...
In the last weeks I have started using A.I. tools for photo, video generation and some vocals....and I'm really fascinated....I need some time to experiments with these A.I. tools and then I will come back to my standard videos... :)...

I am both impressed and disappointed with the ge1000, the ai and functionality is awesome, but why does it have such crap audio interface, 44.1k? really? this is a very glaring weakness for me. but again thank you, you put so much work into these reviews, and your playing is world class.
Folks on Amazon who have purchased this are very critical. Under-powered processor (limiting your ability to rebuild your normal pedalboard), no parallel signal chains (just one, again, under-powered processor), glitches everywhere, foot pedal unusable.
There really is no shortcut. Helix and Fender and other top-line units are also made in China. There is only QC and components and those both cost money, and then we pay it. Because during a gig it looks and sounds bad to be fiddling with equipment instead of playing.

Some really strange decisions by Mooer for this device 🤔 All those ins and outs, but then only 2×2 for USB. Touchscreen that makes everything accessible, but then 14, seemingly useless, buttons. 8 minutes looper (8 MINUTES!!?!) but then only 8 custom IRs?! If they shortened the looper by 10 seconds that could have been hundreds of IRs.
