LOL. I was a sleep tech. A sleep patient usually has a suspected condition causing their poor sleep or daytime sleepiness. Our job at the clinic is for the tech to conduct the study during the night with telemetry equipment. The doctor reads the study the next day. Techs may have to go into patient rooms to check on equipment, wires, CPAP, O2, etc Patient may need assistance Patient has had typical awakening. Tech forbidden to wake patient. We wait to see via telemetry that patient is awake. It was a running joke in the morning. That i was going home to sleep ( that's another separate joke!) & so was the patient ! When done following international protocol in an accredited sleep and pulmonary clinic, a sleep study is actually nice and not painful or uncomfortable. Sweet dreams. Sorry i prattled on ! I'm no longer a sleep tech and now drink lots of coffee !!! LOL
