- so technically my professor did not say that i could do this for my assignment. but he also never said that i couldn't, so. here we are
i have told him absolutely nothing about what my project looks like lol. presenting this on thursday wish me luck

I've never thought of the loading screen like this before, either, and I also find it very charming! Such a neat concept.
I also loved the bit about how now everyone is obsessed with cooking while the rep has been away. 😂
This actually made me tear up. I’ve been away from my game for a while, but just imagining that everyone gets prepared and Isabelle announces everything right on time for the player’s arrival is so sweet.

This was lovely to watch! I especially adore all the small details, like for example at 3:48! It could have been enough to just film Tom nook looking at the screen, but making in him turn his head, implying that he is following Isabelle's movement towards her seat off-screen, together with the added sound of the jingling steps, that stuff is what makes this go from good to great! Thank you for sharing your work with us!
The details are so nice! I found myself getting excited when Celeste was the one who alerted Isabelle, since her Amiibo was the one we saw in the box!

this game played such an important role in so many peoples quarantines, and having a way to imagine our characters who comforted us living both without us and when we come back is truly heartwarming,
genuinely teared up. nice job, the various shots you use through the whole thing do a wonderful job at world building, overall incredibly work!
oh this was so DELIGHTFUL i love it!! all the little details from the interior design to timmy and tommy's echoing dialogue really made me smile! i can feel your affection for the game and your villagers almost as much as i can feel my island overgrowing with weeds for the last 8 months 💕
Omg this is so well done! The idea to use a Celeste amiibo in the chest with the console, to tie her into alerting Isabelle.
I love all of the details too. Isabelle's footsteps jingling while Tom Nook turns to follow her implied movement offscreen, Timmy and Tommy having echoed dialogue, and each villager having different expressions/actions in the meeting room to show off ther personalities.
Not to mention the interior design, reactions of characters to the news the Island Rep is coming, and bringing up the cooking update/Paradise Planning DLC.
Just all-around this made me smile. Great work and thank you so much for sharing it with us!

This is so precious 🥺 i thought at first reading the title it would be just using animal crossing as a medium of animation, but the way you actually incorporated the fact it knew it was a game and the live action shots. Absolutely adorable.

i absolutely love this what got me the most was your smile at the end once isabelle starts her announcement, that joy we feel when we finally return to this game after a long period really can’t be replicated and seeing that visually resonated with me

The detail that the Celeste amiibo saw Rep taking their switch out and then alerted Isabelle in game was so good!
The tone you went for worked perfectly! I feel like if you tried to make this concept like…creepy or dramatic or something while using ACTUAL animal crossing game footage it wouldn’t’ve worked at ALL. So it was a good idea to match the game’s vibes, it makes everything way more cohesive

The cinematography is so goood!!! Animal crossing back be so limited but you really pushed the cameras to their limits 😌 Great stuff love it!!
Aww this is so cute and creative!! I love the fourth wall breaking/meta genre! I don't know much about Animal Crossing but I love how everyone interacts with each other! You can really tell that they're friends offscreen/(offgame???)with the dialogue! Even if they're acting for the Rep! I also love how this is the video game version of the" toys coming to life!"

This is SOO creative and heartwarming. It's so comforting seeing how the villagers go on with their days with or without you on the island, but once you return they do everything in their power to make your comeback as engaging, fun and exciting as possible. I love the cohesiveness and how you manage to capture the vibe of the game. You make me want to log in again, I would absolutely give you an A+!

When I was little I loved watching the same movies over and over and over again. At some point, my imaginative mind came to the realization that all the characters of each movie I’d rewatch on DVD would scramble during the adverts and the loading to prepare to perform everything all over again, just for my amusement. Who was I, a mere child oblivious to the real-life struggles of the casts of Shrek, Over the Hedge, Robots, and Cars, to demand them to take the time out of their busy days to entertain me? Guilt soon stepped in, set in, and consumed me slowly. It was thanks to this guilt that I curbed this bad habit of mine before reaching the age of nine!

my immediate reaction to this is " this is so well made!!" its like as if the game made an actual animation series for it- on second thought and watch (again) i feel so relatable to isabelle, i like how there was a huge problem and she had to carry a big pressure for all villagers as well as her own, sometimes i guess as humans life is stressful and especially her "what if i mess up?" stresses at the end really hit. so thank you for this

this is so overwhelmingly precious, not to mention just straight up good! as someone who's grown jaded over new horizons compared to the other games in the series, this short films captures a lot of the love and life that i feel from the older games. and the cutaway shots used to imply movement more complicated than the game can offer feel so natural! such a super fun watch, i'm so happy this was on my recommended page today. good luck with the rest of your schooling, it looks like you're gonna do great!
