Dan, quick tip for mold releasing, use wax of some sort, I use turtle wax for all my resin fills/moldings, an alternative is Teflon spray, but make sure it’s well ventilated

A company called stoner makes mold release. Get their silicone mold release when using epoxy and it creates a nice shine and allows it to separate from your frame easily. It takes a couple tries to get the spray right but its amazing when you do.

one of the best things to minimize bubbles in the epoxy without having a pressure chamber is to have a secondary container to put in the epoxy after youve mixed it, it also ensures that the two parts are mixed evenly. It sounds ridiculous and redundant, but it really does work.

Not sure if it’s the same for Epoxy bc I haven’t used it, but when I’ve poured silicon rubber for moulds and that, if you pour from a corner and up high it reduces ur air bubbles bc they stretch out before the mix hits the panel and going from one corner stops more air getting trapped. Idk If it would be the same for epoxy and don’t wanna tell you how you should go about it. Just wonder if it might help 👌🤙

West Systems brings back a lot of memories of working with carbon fiber for Formula SAE cars. It was a lot of fun but man even with good ventilation you can get loopy if you work with that stuff for hours on end. Yeah its a premium price but I think its worth it for the quality and control they provide.
