Ronettes were something very very special. They were over and above. As crazy as he was, Phil Spector, made it all possible. In my opinion, there was not another girl singing group as influential as the Ronettes. They had the magic!
Ronnie’s version of “ it’s a heartache “ is the original, recorded with the Memphis boys who played on Suspicion Minds , she recorded it on the day Elvis died. It’s in her bio. She recorded on the small label Alston records who didn’t have the funds to promote ad RCA who made it bigger with Bonnie Tyler a years later.
It was recorded earlier on Alston label which lacked the funds to properly promote it. Recorded on august 16, 1977 on the day Elvis died. Amazing she used the same musicians who played on Elvis Suspicious Minds ! When she met Elvis at his Vegas opening in 1969 , she said he’s the best looking guy she’d ever met ! Seen none better looking since !

I always liked her version of “It’s a heartache” better than the Bonnie Tyler song
