Overall the Ukrainians definitely give the Russians a chance to surrender, but in the heat of battle, things happen; I Have seen multiple Russian POW's getting executed right after surrendering, or simple while they were surrendering. Just because you do not see these videos, does not mean this does not happen. Both sides at this point have generals that are war criminals, and both sides have done things that are not OK. Its easy to forget the humanity of the Russian side, but lots of the Russian conscripts just want to go home to their family.

@Sanka Plays It's also been established, that it's a matter of policy for russians to abuse and kill POW's, as well as civilians.
While it happens that Ukrainians cross the line, it is not a matter of policy. Also, none of it would happen if putin had not sent his army into Ukraine. There is no moral equivalence between russia and Ukraine. Do not try to sell the tale that there is, because you're only serving putin's interests.

One of the many reasons so many in the West support or join Ukraine in her fight for survival, it's people want to be a lawful, fair and modern Democratic nation, their actions on anti-corruption, individual freedoms, and their Military Code of Conduction proves this.
Their amazing will and determination proves their value to the world, after Putin's war is over (in Victory for Ukraine of course) and the reconstruction, mourning the dead and missing, the trials for war crimes; Ukraine will flourish. She will see new investment, new opportunities with international organizations, and most importantly, net positive immigration. Ukraine will most likely see something few eastern European nations have experienced, a fast growing immigrant population; groups like members of the Legion who have found and fought for their "home", foreign volunteers both during the war and reconstruction who have spent enough time to build a life there, inspired people who feel more connected to Ukraine now than they do with their homeland, and the children/spouses of refugees who do return home (Ukraine having a growing quality of life post-war similar to current eastern EU nations would make this more common). Of course it will mean change, tolerance of new cultures mixing in, and the resistance that often come from a vocal angry minority, in the end all worth it.
Yes, I did smoke a big joint before I wrote this before anyone asks.

Yes, huge respect for Ukraine... and how they treat their Prisoners of War with respect. It's the complete opposite of how Putin's Russia treats any prisoner there. I pray for Russia's POWs who were lucky enough to live long enough to be taken prisoner INSIDE Ukraine during this war... and pray for their safety when they return to Russian during prisoner exchanges. I can't imagine Putin just allowing them to go back to their homes and normal life again, especially those whose interviews like this one were posted on UA-cam for all the world to see and hear. To even call this war a "war" is a crime in Russia. Imagine what they will do to this Russia soldier for telling the truth about what the world can see, but what Russian media (the government's media) is letting the Russian people see or hear about. Dear God, please protect the lives and safety of POWs on both sides.
