- Princess Tutu プリンセスチュチュ (2002) is a Japanese magical girl anime series created by Ikuko Itoh, centered around ballet.
The following video is a compilation of all the key interactions between the main characters: Fakir and Ahiru (Sometimes referred to as Duck). From death threats and intimidation to understanding each other, working towards a common goal and vowing to be by each other's side forever. Exactly I loved this couple!
I have never seen a show do character progression and development as SATIFYINGLY as Princess Tutu. It all works, it all was brilliantly paced and it was all believable. Rue, Mytho, Fakir, Ahiru, everyone feels like REAL people making real choices as individuals.
(plus, I know in the Lake of Dispare Fakir said they should be their true selves and that he'd never leave her as a duck. but like... We can all assume he writes a story where she can be human again if she wants, because HOPE.)
Eh, Mytho feels more like a plot device than a person. . . but since he’s literally a prince from a storybook it fits great lol. And Mytho’s changing relationships with the other three are very interesting

34:00 So this compilation left out a small scene of Fakir and Ahiru that I think is important, notably right around this scene. Drosselmeyer narrates over a scene of Fakir and Ahiru and says something along the lines of "Oh, Ahiru, it looks like your prince has changed!".
I don't know what the Japanese subs would say, but the base verb used was 'kaeru'. And what's interesting is that it reads differently depending on what kanji is used, similar to how there could be two interpretations of the word 'change'.
変える - this version of kaeru means 'change' in the sense of transformation/alteration (basically "Mythos has changed")
換える - this version of kaeru means 'change' in the sense of substitution, replacement, etc. so one could argue that Ahiru's prince has 'changed' from Mythos to Fakir.
The first one is almost certainly the one they meant, BUT I like to think that there's a second interpretation hidden behind it.
In the sub aswell it was “oh, your Prince has been changed”
I always thought it had double meaning as in, Mythos, the prince has changed
But also maybe fakir is her new prince in a sense but I didn’t know about the kanji thing!
This show deserves either a reboot or at the very least a revamp in the animation because God damn do these two always make me so happy and seeing their relationship grow from enemies to friends to maybe more just feels so wholesome and just natural and sweet. These two deserve so much more and maybe an ending where they get together. But still happy with the ending we got as well. And seeing them in a newer animation, oh I can already feel my heart going into cardiac arrest from how cute they would be and how pretty they would be. Thanks for posting this. I needed some Princess Tutu love.

PT Zwei is amazing! I watched the promo and the first episode several times.
It is done by a single animator. So time between episodes are going to be several months in between. She does have a Tumblr account under the name of nocturnal impala. There you can check out her behind the scenes and character bios for the project.
@@BobbiHiru Oh, yeah I get it. I do love the style it currently is in as well as the style of the time. I was just saying that I can also see it being revamped in with the quality of current animation as well to get the full scope of what could be done. Like using some modern techniques to see the a full view of the dance and feel like each turn and spin of the dancers. But I can respect the old style as well. It is rather important to respect older animation and the work they did and could do at the time.

I rmb being really angry about the ending when i was young.But now I've learned a lot from the show.The partner that you should be with should be the one you can be yourself with.And WE should be ourselves and accept who we are.The most romantic thing about this ship is , they have been through so many stages of character development together🥺
Fr!! As a kid I was mad that Duck didn't get with the prince... Watching it as I got older, I really loved the chemistry between Duck and Fakir. It's just as you said, your partner should be the one who you can be yourself with. I really loved the whole enemies-to-lovers troupe they had and how much they grew closer as the series went on!

Although I think the love square in PT is IMMACULATE, my fave pairing has to be Fakiru!! Maybe i'm stupid, but I never saw it taking the direction it did, and it was rly interesting to see them develop as characters w/each other. I'm not an "opposites attract/enemies to lovers" kinda person, I like when ppl get along, but I found Fakiru so interesting?? They had rly differing views, even over a common goal, but cared enough about Mytho to set it aside for his sake. They never thought about themselves in that sense, it was always: what can we do for others. But through that they grew close & to understand each other.
Ngl almost till the last second I believed PT would take the basic route ending, just because it rly drove to the point PT's existence for the prince, and because I thought they'd disregard all Ahiru & Fakir's development throughout the series for a "happily ever after" Even if it didn't end in the most satisfying way (for me anyways, my girl Ahiru went through SO much! TwT), it was still a "perfect" ending, and extremely rewarding - if not more- ending the way it did.
Maybe it's obvious I've just watched this series, but I can say for certain it's never leaving my heart, it's truly smth special

Does precure even really count lol? Most of them are crushes right? And I don’t remember any ever being confirmed, aside from like a few of the cures
Edit: that’s not to say that Fakir and Duck get together, but it’s still heavily implied and well developed
That's a bit of a weird comparison though? Audience wise Tutu is closer to Madoka Magica than Precure, not to mention relationships aren't really a major thing there either aside from some crushes and love symbolism.
Is there even straight relationships in precure? I thought they were all yuri

Maybe the story was really about people wanting things they couldn’t have…mytho wanted to feel cold and empty because he was tired of people using his kindness…and fakhir wanted to feel people depending on him for things outside his strength…and the duck just wanted to help a boy she fancied

I really want more people to know about Princess Tutu
After watching princess tutu again as an adult, I learn so many things & one I find interesting & beautiful is the progressive relationship + character development between Ahiru & Fakir.
They actually hv same goals since first time which to protect Myhto but they hv different vision in Ahiru side, she think collecting back the prince heart is the way to protect & made Myhto happy while in Fakir side, he think the prince better off just stay still & never got his heart so he not gonna meet tragic end to fight raven again.
Along the way, both of them learn, be more open up to one another, developed trust & eventually work together after knowing abt Dossemayer. They come from character that just too afraid with their own fate (Ahiru vanished into light after she confess her feeling & Fakir death during raven fight) to against their own fate & eventually get their own glory at the end.
Relationship between Ahiru & Fakir is actually grounded + ideal in real world too, not only focus on enemy to lover but how to understanding , accept each other & become each other strength in any given situation.
One of my fav overshadowed of both relationship is at eps 23-26 where Fakir hv self doubt & not sure abt his own writing strength that made him hard to write happy ending for "the prince and raven" but when he think abt Ahiru who believe & so hopeful on Fakir ability what made them able to finish the story & get happy ending. More than just to support Myhto end his despair fate, more than against fate that Dossemery write over them is the fact Fakir truly care,protect Ahiru & wanna made her wish come true❤
That's why promise abt Fakir stay together with Ahiru, not only to company Ahiru so she not feeling lonely but bc they both genuine need each other.
I rewatch this series at least once a year. I real do love the build up to this relationship and seeing both of them give me hope and joy.

I loved this anime when I found it in high school, although it made me sad. I found a fanfiction a few years later that did a sequel and in my mind it will always be canon.

Thank u so much. I never thought I'd see this anime again after so long. This was my favorite anime ever since my elementary school days. This story taught me a lot of things and some good morals. Sometimes I think of Princess Tutu/Duck as a Disney Princess.
It's nice to see the development between Fakir and Duck.
To be honest, I wish Duck and Fakir had a better ending together. I wish them the best 💛

I don't mind that Ahiru didn't end up with Mytho and went back to being a bird spending her days with Faknir, but i really don't like how Mytho ended up with Rue when she pretty much disregarded his consent for everything especially in the season 1 finale.
Agreed. It just also just seemed like they were rushing it in that sense. It would have been nice if the put into more depth on rue and Mytho. Maybe give them a reason why the loved eachother in the end, how they go there. Real character development between them. Idk I think the whole story would have been better if they went into more depth.
I mean when you think of it rue knew mytho when she was just a little girl and seems they spent quite a bit of time together. Also there was that line said where the more she loved the more hurt and despair she felt or something along those lines. Then there's the fact as mytho slowly gained his heart shards Back he showed some affection for rue. That and when she was being controlled by the story she put up no fight. So it's possible there was mutual love then again maybe mytho likes helping others and putting others first. He knew she loved him and wanted to be loved so him being him why not grant her wish
🤨They did pretty well, since the beginning...It would be nice a Rue and Mythos moments or something.
The manga is way different from the animation , Mytho likes Ahiru /tutu. She didn't end up with either of them . The animation did not follow the manga.
@@HydeNo the manga is actually an adaptation of the anime. However, the difference between them is the manga drew out a happier ending compared to the original.

Ahh.. this came out 2 years after I was born, but I had watched it some time later, when I was very young, possibly middle school or earlier … to me this is a show that demonstrates the magic of anime . Though I know my time as a child is gone forever, I can return briefly to it, when I rewatch clips like these. I wonder, if this twinge of pain is me being over emotional! So many cute memories of this 💘 I had such a big crush on Fakhir

The Japanese voice actor for Ahiru is the same voice actor for Lucia in Mermaid Melody.....I think.....
Edit: I looked them up. Ahiru is voiced by Nanae Katō, and Luchia is voiced by Asumi Nakata. So I was wrong oh well 😅

I don't mind old anime, in fact I love them compared to modern anime. some of the shoujo anime I love are: Escaflowne, Twelve Kingdom(not really shoujo), Rose of Versailles, Requiem of the Rose king(manga) etc-----

she was a duck to begin with. her purpose is to revive mytho by collecting his scattered souls. fakir tried to prevent it happens but things happened according to the plot written by Drosselmeyer. from the beginning, the villain of the lake swan (black swan/his daughter) was mytho's lover. so tutu and fakir are playing as side characters to support the main characters of a written story. the ending should make black swan stays as villain but she regains her memory and four of them fight with Drosselmeyer's story plot. the ending is what it suppose to be. tutu become a duck. mytho and black swan back together and fakir keeps tutu by his side forever as he promised. though i still hoping she would become human again and be happy with fakir as couple. yeah its a bit disappointed but that's how the ending should be. T___T

@@LilyRose-cs1bi If you consider a world where a cat can be a dancer alongside people, there's some window for hope. Ahiru's returned to the small pond she came from, Fakir alongside her. Her role as Tutu has ended, but so has his as the town's writer. As the narrator closing words go, the two of them are together, back at her beginning, with the chance to create a beautiful new story.
Ahiru's no longer Princess Tutu, they're free to be themselves. They're not trapped by the story we all wish to see for them. But they do have each other, so who knows where that will go?

@@DjRex28 I never said you couldn’t. I’m just saying it’s a waste of time (cuz it’ll take a lot of your time) + preference (I didn’t like the dub). And as someone whose edited multiple videos before, you’ll struggle your way around thru a couple of things …
1. Making sure between each clip, there’s a smooth transition
2. Cutting the clips in between other clips surrounding it since there are multiple scenes
3. Adding lots of clips to the editor simultaneously while making sure you didn’t lose one single scene
4. Ofc losing your work along the way cuz we all know how unreliable computers can be halfway thru a project
5. Lastly making sure EVERYTHING is 100% perfect to go for UA-cam & the whole world to see with no errors or clips missing over a 40-60 min span video
6. How are you going to deal with UA-cam’s copyright strikes? Nowadays they do take down videos instantly as they upload them. And if you have 3 strikes, down goes your UA-cam channel.
I know far better than you know about editing & uploading videos, so again, why waste your time making a dub when there is already a compiled sub video here?
@@zatannavolkoff ah i don't need to worry about copyright strikes. If i upload it and it gets taken down i couldn't care less as long as i have a copy for my personal computer I'm not the content creator type i made an AMV once and that was pretty bad aha. I've made videos before too and I'm not super good at it but i know that the transitions are basic. slapping down a bunch of clips unedited would not take long especially when you have the episodes laid out.
Hmm i think i could finish it in 3 days (mostly because i have a full time job and a family to feed but I'm feeling motivated!)
