2012 dodge charger 3.6 L alternator replacement

This was simplified little job came and smoking burning up the belt filled the whole shop. Hope you enjoy it it’s a simple thing I loved it

Was it just the alternator or did the battery cause the failure? Same thing happened yo me. I'm waiting for my new one to come in. Also do you think it would be OK to go from 180 amp to 220amps? Thanks

It was just the Alt. You can up grade the alt to 220amp
