I figured the swap is straight forward, but your video certainly prepared me for the job. Going to tackle this weekend. Keep up the great aids for us DIYers!! God Bless!!!!
Thank you for the video! I had expected to do a similar procedure, and I'm glad I watched you. It took all of 20 minutes to swap plus jack and jackstands. Never took the wheel off but I'm a small guy so I fit and moved around with no problem. The tip on the lower bolt and lining myself up at the correct angle to pull that tight-ass bolt out for my stepdaughter. That was KEY! Thanks again! I appreciate YOU!
My girl was having problems with her Challenger on the way to work today. Definitely an alternator. Thank you very much for the instructional video now I know what to bring out there to get it done. Much appreciated thank you
Thanks for the tutorial. I’m about to change the oil pump on my v6 300 and the connector for the solenoid is behind the alternator. Now I can my life a lil easier and just get it out of the way.
I really appreciate the love!! I will have more content dropping here soon, so if you could please subscribe and I’ll be sure to continue dropping valuable content 🤙🏾
thank you for the video. when you did the big 3, is the power cable that runs from the trunk battery to the front chassis copper, or only copper clad aluminum? i cant seem to get a definitive answer. im about to swap alternators and do the big 3, but i need to figure out if i need to replace that whole run line from the battery, or just from the firewall to the alternator since all the wire is already a 0 awg running down the inside to the battery.
Changing a alternator on a 2007 dodge charger and my only issue is that the bolts that are hold the bracket on I can't get to break free. Lol I just changed the breaks, battery and did the air intake system and now doing the alternator for my aunts friend.
I know this video is old now but what was your battery and battery terminals setup and how did you run your new alternator charge cable? I really don't want to have to go through the passenger fender and prefer to go through the driver side firewall because I heard there's a grommet there.
Where did you run your alternator power wire to get it in the trunk? Needing to do mine soon and tryin to see if theres a decently simple way to do it.
Could you use the stock wiring cables from the original alternator or do you need to change out that wiring as well and how do you know what kind of alternator you need
I used the stock wiring on mines. As far as the kind, it depends on how much power your system requires for charging and how much reserve (extra battery power) you have
Hey dude, I got a 300s with your engine. I tried finding a video of you doing your big 3 can you send a link or any link that may help me get mine done. Thank you and keep up that content!
How much power would you need before you need a se one battery? I wanna run around 2500 -3000 watts but only replacing the battery for an xs bat and a high output alternator. I don’t like the idea of having a second battery getting on my way. 🤔🤔
Yo bro nice video and info 👌 im trying to run a 2000 watt amp and two 12s on 1ohm at 1000 each im thinking i need to get the big three done i got the factory alternator upgraded to from 160 to 220 and put a interstate battery in u think that will be enough power any advice is greatly appreciated
dyoung3297 ayo I ended up getting a 2000 rms skar rp with a single skar vxf 15” . My voltage drops to 12.8 from like around 14 volts in certain bass hits. My alternator on my Dodge Charger is 180 amps If I’m not mistaken. I’m getting some light dimming too but not too bad. If that helps.
@@marcuskoolrt yo Marcus good looking on the info bro yea I got the same skar 2000amp pushing two 12s on 1 ohm at 1000 watts on my dodge charger 2017 I haven't installed yet just got my alternator upgraded and probably gonna get the big 3 done thanks for the info
I have a 2020 300 put e brand series mechman h/o when in idle in drive drops to 13.3 with nothing on but heater. When in park idle hangs on in 14.2 driving 14.2 but fluctuates with any music playing what could cause this?
Dont you have to do something to the car after installing the high alternator? Meaning your cars computers is set to factory amperage from the alternator so wether you put that high output alt it still gonna give you the same readings. I heard you have to add some type of module or bypass to trick the cars pcm in order to get the real power from your new alternator.
Terrence Straughter Sr. You should be good with a secondary battery.. best performance I’d do an alternator, but an extra battery would suffice ... just have to make sure starting and secondary are agm batteries
@@WoodDidIt yeah man! Its my first H.O. Alt and they answered every question I had. No matter how stupid I thought it would be to ask, they were more than happy to answer. Very happy with them
bro, 4 years later and your video is still a huge help for people just getting into the scene. really appreciate the details!

Man i appreciate you for this bro my alternator just went out me and I be damn if I pay someone else to do it good look bro ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Man, thanks for this vid. Looked easy to do.
I can't seem to find that big 3 vid. Did you make video for that?

I know I’m late to the game lol. But on the battery. Did you bypass the ibs sensor on the ground?
Thanks for this video! I got it done this morning. Very happy.
Glad I could help 🤝
I appreciate you sir, thanks for the video!
Thank you sir very simple but i like knowing what im doing before i do anything 👍
Where did you get the cables to wire it up? And how did you send it to the trunk??
would you recommend a 270A if im putting 2500rms subs in?
Thanks for the video. Any chance you have a video doing the big 3 I’m planning to upgrade my alt for my system.
About how long does the power cable need to be coming off the alternator
Great video bro

thanks bro you just helped me make a quick 60$

Glad to see you back at it bro, dope fa sho.
jcarter1885 Preciate you fam! Life been hella busy but I got to get ready for this show season so I’m trying to get footage as I can in the process!
I been slacking myself, finally started back on my system. Its all good bro.
jcarter1885 man this setup in Ice is gonna be one to see/hear!! We gonna have to link when it’s playing before I move to Cleveland
Yes sir, we will make something happen.

Soon as I start my rebuild, I can definitely do that! Right now my substage is in the way of my spare area . But I will definitely do so

For 2500-3000 rms total I’d run a secondary battery if you don’t have an alternator 320a or higher
buy a second battery! cat battery 153-5720 and a 350 amp alt, you play you pay do it once and not twice!

That’s a good question.. could be an alternator that is still controlled by the computer rather than bypassed.. mine charges 14.4 all times
Does this work for a 2015 Chrysler 200S 3.6?
It takes power to make power awsome video
kia bass 879 yessir!!! I will make another video of my full electrical

A external voltage regulator thats what i ment to say
Maybe if you plan to charge over 14.4, but I had, nor have no issues .. just plug and play
Great video bruh. What size is the NS in the trunk? Group 34?
Trucking With Dave appreciate it mayne!!! It’s a group31
WoodWerkz awesome man. I got a Charger too and needed that info!! Salute! Subbed!!
Did you had you get a shorter pulley?
Nope, everything was factory replaced!
@@WoodDidIt got mines today, will install weekend. Is the xs power d3100 a good replacement for my factory battery?
Hey what’s your alt charging at? Is it still charging at 14.2-3 or did it go up? Is your battery sensor messing up?
Pandasaurous Rex my alt charges 14.3/14.4 and no issues with battery sensing ... I actually use the factory voltmeter to monitor
Do you know the amperage on the stock alternator?
Did u have to reset anything after you put the alternator on
Marvin Wells not at all!
Do you have to upgrade your alternator when installing a system
Terrence Straughter Sr. You don’t have to dependent on the size of your system.. but if you running a true 3k rms or higher total, I would!

Weres the link to were you bought the alternator.
Sorry for the late response. If you’re on Facebook, message them here facebook.com/BrandXElectrical/
Is it actually that easy to do it?
Can I do it without taking the wheel off
are you running a double battery for your system
Aaron hudgins single group31 and 2 banks of maxwell ultra caps
Tbh, I might end up needing another one anyway lol
@@WoodDidIt i would just to make sure theirs no strain on any certain part of the system

Aaron hudgins I got it from brand x alternators (look them up on fb) and it was 350 iirc
Just bought my h.o. alt for my 2013 grand caravan. 3.6. V6. Got it from G.P car audio. 367 amp
